The sweetest grandmas make the best neighborhood pizza here. Highly recommend if you want the real deal.

Not sure how they’re in business so long because the service was just as tasteless as the pizza.

Elder abuse going on. The less older lady is very mean to the very senior woman who makes the pizza and serves it with a smile. That other lady needs a reality check and needs to work as hard or harder than dear granny.

I was at John's Pizzeria on a Sunday with Scott's Pizza Tours. We were pretty much the only ones there. We got to try the Sicilian. This place is the epitome of New York neighborhood pizza place. The décor is straight out of the 1960s when they probably opened. They probably own the building. It's a mother and daughter hand rolling the dough and doing absolutely everything. I'm sure they're doing it exactly the same way they've been doing it for the last 50+ years. Happy to see them survive and have a little social media presence. They aren't doing a lot of things here but what they do they do well.

Cute place. It’s been there since 1976 although my understanding is they were originally a few blocks away from 65-76. Pizza was good. My issue with the place is the daughter’s attitude is gruff and not friendly. When taking my order I’m at the far right of the counter and she walks all the way to the left and grabs a paper and pen. I’mStill on the right because that’s where I began communicating my order. She seems annoyed that I didn’t move over to where she moved. I didn’t appreciate the attitude. Also, there were so many toppings unavailable (No onions, no garlic, no meatballs) & no rolls which was a disappointment. And what I did order I didn’t get. Sausage and peppers and no peppers were on my pie. Lastly, she barked about taking a picture and said I need to ask before taking. All that said, I am giving 4 stars because I respect the history of the place. But the owner/daughter could be nicer. That would have bumped to 5 stars.

All time favorite pizzeria. I’ve been coming here since I started walking. Family run business (mom and daughter). The place has not changed since I was 4. I enjoy the crispy thin crust, sweet and tangy sauce, and perfect amount of cheese. Best pizza in the

Plain slice barely had any sauce. It was like eating crackers with cheese. Good people though.

The best hall in the wall pizzeria. So happy this place is still up and running. I get so happy every time I go here and see the Nona making her dough and forming the pizza. It's a family run business and they make everything fresh. I love that there is not massive amounts of pizza. They make the pies as the day goes. They have a very limited menu so everything is good! The pizza sauce is different not sure what they add to it but it's not acidic like most shops and it the perfect amount. The sauce crust is always thin and crunchy! Also another thing I have noticed is the quality of the cheese it's not overly greasy or has that smell to it very gooey and perfect! My go to pizza shop and there are many close by in Elmhurst and maspeth but none compare!!

If there was a Zero that's what I would give. Worked a full day for this guy and refused to pay me. Very mean and nasty.

First time I've had John's was around 1986. Last evening I went with my GF Eva after not going for approximately 10+ years. It definitely brought back so many memories and nostalgia from my childhood.
