I went to the cashier with the man named Shaun again yesterday. My previous review I spelled his name with a "w" but I look at the cashier #8 and his name is spelled Shaun with a "u". The bunch of bananas is a good deal for 8 it cost $1.75. I just think this stop and shop as of the pass several years takes forever to check out groceries because it's a crowded neighborhood.

I've been going to this store for decades. It was once my go to grocery store. It has since then taken a sharp decline. I recently visited it and thought the layout (which was new to me) seemed cool & everything looked new and updated. As I was shopping, I noticed that the pricing was much steeper than what I was accustomed to, more like Whole Foods pricing, while the products seemed worse, as in more variety (which is great) but not as fresh (so what's the point of the variety then?). Then, 2 days after I got home, I took out meat to cook & it looked as if it had already gone bad but the date said it was good for another 3 days. I started cooking it and it created a revolting, putrid smell. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Mind you, this meat also cost me more money than I could get it elsewhere. Rather than 0 stars, the one star is deserved and goes out only to the deli department which was accommodating and seemed fresh.

If I could rate zero for customer service I would. Had an incident with a customer service rep who was disrespectful and also "wanted to take it outside'. Filed complaint, apparently management does not care because yesterday I was at the store and needed assistance with a tax exempt order and the same person refused to assist, walked away, waived her hands and said something to Erin, one of the managers who did absolutely nothing. I waited a minute and then walked over to Erin and stated I witnessed what transpired, of course she denied. Will be shopping LIC when i can, unfortunately that store is closing. The majority of staff at Grand Avenue do not care about anything but themselves, they hate the customers.

this rating is not for the store but for the location, who ever designed this location did a bad job. its terrible trying to get to the roof parking. should of made a ramp from the street to the roof. like they have in long island city store, that is slated to close, that is a great store. great way to get to the roof. less congested. this grand ave location, has too many stores in that center, making it terrible to drive in and out. mabye this store should close and keep the LIC store opened.. LIC is where all is happening, so much building going on. and more stores are needed. i do love stop and shop,

This review is for the Stop & Shop Pharmacy at 74-17 Grand Ave Maspeth. I am very happy with the service. This is not my regular pharmacy which is CVS in Forest Hills. I go there when I need a discount on Good Rx as their price is much lower than CVS. The difference between them and CVS is that they answer the phone. I usually get them after a few rings, wherever you call CVS you can be on the phone all day and not have anyone answer. That is basically the general complaint about my local CVS pharmacy from everyone's yelp review. I want to give a special thank you to Pharmacy Technician, Maria Jon. She goes over the prescription in detail and is super courteous. I told her even though CVS is around the block from me, I may move all our prescriptions to Stop & Shop.

I ordered delivery through Peapod/Stop & Shop's website, from this location. It's one of the better grocery delivery services. Most grocery delivery services charge a lot for meat; maybe 2-3 times as much as shopping in a regular supermarket in-person. Produce prices tend to be the same as in-person shopping. Stop & Shop is the opposite: meat prices are very reasonable but produce prices are fairly high. Selection isn't as good as Amazon Fresh or Fresh Direct, but that's to be expected since you're ordering from one regular supermarket. Stop & Shop handles substitutions and refunds for unavailable items better than most. The website suggests substitutes that make sense. You can choose to refund instead of substituting on a per-item basis. You can also set an account-level default (i.e. always default to refunding, but with the option of choosing a substitute when you want that). I didn't have a chance to see this feature in action since everything I ordered was available. That's compared to Instacart, which doesn't have an account-level setting, and which ignored my per-item settings. Amazon Fresh didn't have any settings and will always substitute. With most grocery delivery services, prices can go up after you place your order. Sometimes, it happens for no apparent reason. With my Stop & Shop order, prices went up slightly after I finalized the order. Some of that was just because a few items were sold by weight, which is normal. For some reason, I was charged sales tax on the delivery fee even though the delivery fee was 0 with the promo code I used, but it was a small amount. Food quality seemed OK. Just a few small issues. One egg was broken. The cooked frozen cocktail shrimp weren't deveined. There was a 2-hr delivery window. They delivered roughly in the middle of that range. For some reason, the delivery person didn't knock: he just left the bags outside my door.

Yes, my last review was 5 years ago and it's time to write and update. I have been reading reviews about the deli and cold cuts and totally agree with those reviewers. Here is my updated review. Do not expect much with customer service here. Staff are busy standing near their boxes and so busy putting away stuff that you have to ask them to move over so you can get items. Some appear grumpy and mumbling under their breath. One time I asked a guy putting away items in the meat department advice on how to prepare something. He did not know and said to ask this employee for she know everything but did not supply name or ask her to come out of office. Never mind, I find better service watching you tube videos. Onto the review in the deli/meat department. I was grossed out and worried about getting sick after what I saw. I asked the deli guy for 1/2 a pound of roast beef which he said you want Boars Head or Stop and Stop. I said Stop and Shop. The guy disappears for a while and I see him come out with a zip lock back with a small piece of roast beef sitting in 1/2 a bag of liquid. He opens the zip lock bag and empties out the liquid in the sink. He grabs bounty towel holds the meat end and slices the beef then after he done he uses bounty towel that he held the meat to wipe the machine. I ask him how come so much liquid. He goes that is normal. I was concerned with sanitation as well as cross contamination. I got bad vibe, so bad that I put the sliced stuff back in the fridge where they had deli meat already sliced and left the store. Will not be getting anymore deli stuff here. Very cautious about getting stuff here. Check expiration dates. Kombucha items may be expired and they do not clear them out. Had returned stuff that was expired and spoke to customer service one of the staff just looked at me imposing on her busy schedule. Self checkout did not know how to scan banana cause it did not have bar code and asked staff at register checkout for assistance she said she can't help me. She said someone at self checkout will assist. Tip- If no bar code you need to type in Banana to search for price. Lady was not very nice when she explained how to do it. Organic carrots not fresh- stuff growing out of them. I shop weekly and it's still the same carrots sitting there. Will not be shopping here. Too many other stores available.

This store has by far the worst customer rapport I have encountered in 12 years in NYC. Weeks ago I voiced my distress at not finding Mexican Pepsi to the customer service (disservice) office to no avail. I spoke with the Pepsi representative and no success. Likewise, the Coca cola representative lacked any care about only Mexican Coca-Cola bottles in the store. The store has had parking issues, overpricing issues and it is a negative experience after negative experiences. Highly NOT recommended! Even the Friendly's ice cream man was unfriendly!

Here I encountered the worst service, they actually said that I can not come to buy things every day, they do not want to sell. I said you kept it for yourself, and they replied, "I don't care." why???Because I'm Chinese?

Very unprofessional and not courteous to customers who go there shortly before closing, If you walk in 10-15min prior to closing They give you a dirty look and run to the PA announcing the store is closing in 5min, On 02/11/21 it was 11:55pm as I was getting my last item to head to the cashier, the male manager on duty came hounding me down snapping at me telling me the store is closed, I would Immediately have to go to the cashier expressing him self very ugly tone. Couple cashiers that work at the store make you feel like they're doing you a favor for checking you out five minutes before the store closes, There are some very good people working at the store and some that are very bad. I have been shopping at stop and shop for over 40 years even before it was called Stop & Shop when it was called EdwardsI I shop at this store 3 to 4 times a week some of the good professionals that work there do know me well, I would like to be treated well when I'm shopping. I would recommend you to have random monitors going to the store prior to closing and judge what I'm saying.

Cold cuts and sliced cheese always go bad faster than when I buy them elsewhere - so consistently to the point that I don't get them here. I regularly see items that need to be refrigerated being stored improperly - like Columbus prepackaged prosciutto sitting in a cardboard display NEXT to the cheese that is being properly stored. I bought a package like this once and it smelled and tasted bad, so I don't buy these anymore either in case they sat out too long. The seafood area often smells bad, and the quality is awful. This is another area I don't buy from. Mealy fish, and mussels with half dead are two issues I recently remember. Meat and poultry are also a no go, too many bad experiences with overly fatty pieces and poor quality. Missing or past prime produce is the norm, coming here for anything almost always means you have to go elsewhere to get everything you need. What is there is often mushy or over ripe. Prepacked produce, the same brands bought elsewhere, go bad faster when brought from here. They regularly run out of the small plastic bags for your individual produce; pointing this out to an employee resulted in him directing me to the single dispenser that had some bags and not getting the others refilled. The parking lot is always packed - if you have regular access to a car it makes no sense to come here, drive to something better. Uploaded for a perfect illustration of what shopping here is like: a photo of the useless way they cut their garlic bread.

First . Most of cashiers not helping customer put items in the bags Why?? It should be part of your jobs and everything can go faster than just standing and looking customer bags lot of items by themselves but if they only have little items I understand you can be lazy. Second. Don't asking customer at beginning of scanning process how many bags do they want how do customer know how many bags they will need if they have a lot of items I know you have to charge them but you can put that in system when they finish bagging. Third. If customer can pay for all items they buying they can pay for 5 cents or whatever you charge for bags give customer enough bags so they can take all items safety to they home not dropped everything in parking lot . Manager should train them better or go to wegmans and see how they work !!!

I've been to so many stores and I can say that stop and shop provides the best grocery items and food at an affordable price. I'd out this second to Costco. I love their sushi, the California rolls go be precise. And I'm a regular when it comes to their bakery and their $1 candy. Based in my observations, they hire pretty much anyone with no discrimination.

I once loved this store but NOT anymore. Because of the pandemic they INCREASED all of their prices and I feel they did a Disservice to their loyalty customers.

Love this place. Clean and organized has everything I need. I love that the organic section is the second aisle when you walk in and not hidden away. Theres three self check outs. Sometimes it gets cray but its still one of my favorite branches.
