This store has a lot of stuff for people who love outdoor sporting activities. You can find what you need there to cover most all your needs. They also have cool displays of different types of animals that can be seen in the wilderness to look at and become familiar with.

Their store policies when purchasing a handgun are very annoying, time consuming and inconsiderate to customers that don't live real close.Any other store would let you select a purchase, fill out the background check and then go to the county sheriff's office with the receipt to get the pickup coupon in order to acquire your purchase. For reference in my case I drive 30 miles to get to the store. My county sheriff is 15 miles in the other direction.I spent an hour selecting what I wanted to purchase, and then they demand I pay up front. Then i would need to drive to my county sheriff to add it to my card (45 miles 1 way), THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL THEY DO THE FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK. I have to pay to add it to my NY ccw card, and if for some reason the background check has an issue, I would then need to go back to sportsman's warehouse to get proof I never actually possessed the gun and drive the 45 miles back to the county to remove it..It should only take 2 trips to finalize the transaction. But with NY's background check, I can guarantee I'd have to make 3 trips and drive 210 for something only 2 trips ought to do.Unless their policy's change, I will never purchase another handgun or semi auto rifle again there. I doubt I'd purchase anything there with other stores closer. The selection was nice, but can't see supporting a store that makes doing a transaction so difficult..The special trip to do a background check is ridiculous! Most likely with the slow processing anther to would be required as it can take a week or more to get an approval.

The customer service we received was very unprofessional to say the least the manager was under qualified had a lack in education the check out people were the same they must have had to draw straws to see who the manager would be and none of them really understood how the process would work. Went to exchange an item that we didn't have a receipt for but just wanted to exchange the quality of the item was poor in quality but wouldn't expect anything less out of something made in China that they stock in there store needless to say none of the employees could understand all we wanted was an exchange so they couldn't help us we left the store with the junk we had purchased there will never shop there again if I need to purchase a firearm or bow I will now be shopping at bass pro in auburn might be a little bit of a drive but the customer service will be worth it. To sportsman warehouse I hope you go out of business and all your employees will have to relocate to China to work.

Horrible experience, will not return. Stopped in on 01/11/2024 to purchase a pair of hiking shoes. I found a pair of Oboz that i wanted to try on. There was no one in the vicinity, so i asked the nearest associate for assistance. This joke of an employee told me he was in camping section and didn't know about the shoes. No biggie, figured he would call for someone to come and help. He walks over to the shoes, I tell him which ones and what size. Instead of getting the shoes or asking someone to bring them out, he decides to stand there and tell me that the shoes are too expensive. Then he ask if i even researched shoes that expensice. I remind him I just want to try on a pair if size 13s. At that point he makes another comment about how expensive the shoes are. I grew tired of his questioning and insinuations that i could not afford the shoes so i left without even trying them on. Once i got home, i ordered the same shoes directly from Oboz website. After this horrible interaction i will not be returning and will be encouraging everyone i know to do the same.

It’s like a Toy store for a manchild

While I don't normally go to stores like this, my friend likes going here for ammo, and this was the only place I've been to that sold dragon tail fishing lures, meaning that I didn't have to order any online! They make for good worms on strings. :)

I'd give 0 stars if I could. Worse experience ever. All the employees were rude. Most acted like they'd rather be doing anything but drawing a pay check from there. Cause they sure wasn't working. They were rude and had no knowledge on the department they worked in. I will go to a smaller store from now on where customer service still means something.

WOW, a huge sporting goods store with everything you could possibly want. I was surprised I was able to buy keychain size mace/pepper spray here as in NY state companies won't ship it via mail if bought online. Well lit, super clean and organized, well staffed and a large selection of "prepper" items and long guns, hand guns, etc.

This is not a commentary on the Sportsman's Warehouse, rather the obscene politics of NY state. Albany is enacting shadow banning of American's 2A rights. With NJ muzzleloading season fast approaching, I tried to add to the NY state economy but purchasing provisions. I couldn't buy black powder substitute because I live in NJ. Left several hundreds of dollars on the counter and walked out. Good thing I wasn't on a hunting trip here. Will be scratching New York from the places where I'd come hunt. What a shame. Beautiful country and great habitat.

This is my guys favorite store so we end up going often. He always finds what he's looking for eventually (he gets distracted by other things in the store) and the staff are all very friendly and helpful
