“I just got back from a two night stay at Candlewood Suites. The room was spacious and clean and I loved that it had a full kitchen (refrigerator/freezer, two burner stove, dishwasher, and microwave). The real plus to this place was the staff. Everyone was so nice especially Ashley and Derek.
The first night I got there I immediately turned on the tv as I unpacked. The tv wasn't working and nothing I did would fix it. Ashley was able to fix it and as someone who needs the tv on to fall asleep (it helps with my anxiety) this was a big deal to me and Ashley was so kind and helpful. The next morning I just had a few questions about the hotel and Derek was also very kind and helpful. As I was waiting for my Uber today Derek's interactions with other guests were completely pleasant and professional.
The other things that were nice about the hotel was that Outback was right across the parking lot, so at least there was a food option nearby that you didn't need to get to by driving. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic. I've stayed at a lot of hotels over the years from budget hotels to higher end hotels and all of them have water pressure in the shower like you're being rained on. It would take forever to take a shower because the water pressure was so light that it added at least ten minutes to your shower. At Candlewood Suites, the water pressure was just like my shower home and I was able to take a normal length shower. I definitely enjoyed my short stay there and would definitely stay there again if I am ever back in the area.
Rooms: Good size and clean.”
“I stayed at the Rufus Tanner House when I ran the Wineglass Marathon in Corning NY. This is a really nice B&B in a beautiful part of NY. The room was nicely done with all amenities you could want. The antiques are nice but not overdone. Plenty of warm common areas too, for relaxing with others. I’d book it again.”
“I recently stayed here and overall, it served its purpose well as a 2-star hotel. It has all the necessary amenities, which we really appreciated. The front desk staff were kind and helpful, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable—we slept great.
The hotel has been recently renovated, the hallways smell great, and the best part is the location—it’s right in the center of so many restaurants. Truly a hotspot for food and convenience.
That said, I do hope they improve the cleanliness a bit. While the room was generally tidy and dust-free, there was some hair in the sink and leftover soap in the tub, which made it feel less disinfected than I’d like. Not unbearable, but a little more attention would go a long way.
Also, when the hotel isn’t full, it would be helpful to space guests apart. Our neighbors were extremely loud—TV blasting, and even an alarm going off at 2:30 AM for nearly an hour. I appreciate that the front desk addressed it when I called, but the walls aren’t well soundproofed.
All in all, for the price, I would stay again. It’s a comfortable place to rest for the night, in a fantastic location, with good service. Just a little more disinfecting would make it even better.”
