This review is due in part by the pharmacy. I am writing this review to express my frustration with the CVS Pharmacy on Dutch Broadway. I have been a customer of this pharmacy for many years, but I have recently had several negative experiences. The most frustrating issue is that the pharmacy never seems to have my prescriptions in stock. I have called ahead to make sure that my prescriptions are ready, only to arrive at the pharmacy and be told that I have to wait for them to be filled. This has happened on multiple occasions, and it is very inconvenient. On my most recent visit, I had to wait over 15 minutes on the line to speak to the pharmacist. Once I finally got to speak with someone, the pharmacist, Melissa, seemed to have an attitude. She was rude and dismissive when I asked her about my prescription.I am very disappointed with the service I have received at this CVS Pharmacy. I do not recommend this location to anyone. Here are some specific suggestions for improvement:Keep prescriptions in stock. This is the most important thing that the pharmacy can do to improve its service. Customers should not have to wait for their prescriptions to be filled, especially if they have called ahead to make sure that they are ready.Reduce wait times. The pharmacy should take steps to reduce wait times, such as hiring more staff or implementing a more efficient system for filling prescriptions.Improve customer service. Pharmacists and other pharmacy staff should be courteous and professional to customers. They should also be willing to answer questions and provide assistance.Reduce side conversations. Pharmacists and other pharmacy staff should avoid having side conversations with each other while customers are waiting to be served.I hope that CVS Pharmacy will take these suggestions into consideration and make improvements to the Dutch Broadway location.

Wow. I don't know what to say about the pharmacy department here, other than they have always been very consistent with their condescending attitude and the patronizing manner in which they 'help' their customers. It's quite apparent that they aren't well-equipped to handle the volume of prescriptions they fill, but seeing the way CVS/pharmacy hires anyone with a HS diploma or GED for their support staff roles... I am not at all surprised by this hot mess of a store. I went to refill a prescription that I filled at another CVS/pharmacy upstate here and was greeted rudely + promptly grilled by the (unlicensed) intake technician on frivolous personal questions.... such as my dob, telephone number and the number of times I can transfer refill prescriptions between pharmacies in New York State. Frankly I didn't expect anything less from retail pharmacy techs who think highly of themselves compared to others. Why does your technician need to raise their voices at anyone who comes to the counter? Do they not know how to do their jobs properly? After much contemplation and 40+ years of living here... I came to the conclusion that this (raising their voices to talk at persons of different cultural backgrounds) is probably done not so much as an intimidation tactic, but due to the fact that some people have trouble interacting with people of different backgrounds and erroneously assumed folks do not understand English (or state pharmacy laws) very well.CVS is a Fortune 5 company. I'm sure they invest in some kind of diversity and inclusion training for their pharmacy technicians and other staff members. This location certain needs a couple of rounds of training. We don't spew hate like this in this town. Actually, I don't think any business in the area has visibly disgruntled employees like this. I don't want this hate-filled pharmacy tech working at my neighborhood pharmacy. There are many pharmacists that live in this town that are from various ethnic backgrounds, including myself. I myself started my career in the retail business. What this technician did was very stupid and unprofessional. I wasn't angry at the fact that this technician went out of her way to give random people a hard time (especially non-English speaking patients and the elderly). I know that District Leader is E Young, who is just as crass and trashy... would be proud of this behavior. Congratulations on creating a medicaid mill in my home town, CVS. Bad service + un-knowledgeable staff = Medicaid Mill (look up the term in PubMed). I'm sure most of the prescriptions in the pickup bins are automatic refills that will eventually never get claimed after 7 days. Moral of the story:1. I was truly disgusted with what I saw and how I was treated here, both as a pharmacist and a random customer picking up their prescriptions.2. There are plenty of other pharmacies with decent courteous, caring staff in the surrounding areas.3. Some support personnel (techs) take it to Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit to vent their frustrations about their jobs... then also take out their frustrations on their patients at their jobs. This is not right anywhere, period.4. From my personal experience, I am convinced that some pharmacy techs are at their core: mean-spirited and malicious individuals, who purposely seek and stay at frustration-invoking jobs (like retail pharmacy) to verbally abuse customers for their personal amusement. You have one here at 1797 Dutch Broadway in Elmont. I do not see this behavior in stores located at: Hempstead, Uniondale, Freeport, Rosedale, Cambria Heights.Fact:1. There are plenty of higher-paying pharmacy technician jobs in less stressful settings within the area. Lunch break mandated, flexible schedules, holidays, PTO, etc.2. NYS mandated several laws to equalize the workload and increase RPH:Tech ratios. 3. If I walk into this pharmacy to obtain a prescription order and someone raises their voice at me for no reason whatsoever again... I will ask the state board to assist you in WHATEV

The pharmacy sucks. Their phone are always down. If you refill a RX through their automated system you're gambling if it's going to be filled or not. If you signed up for alerts for automatic refills and they send you a text would you like to auto refill now if you text yes, chances are it's not getting filled. I can't tell you countless time that I've done this or gotten a text saying it's ready and when I get here it takes forever to be seen only to be told it's not filled they don't know why it's not filled blah blah blah. Prescriptions were sent in at 3am I show up at 11:30 to pick it up and they say it's not ready. But why y'all open at 8 and this was sent in at 3am and it's now 11:23 and why send out a text the the RX is ready. Her response the automated system does that not us.

I had 30% off any item on my CVS card and a $5.00 off coupon. The sales lady took off the $5.00 from the original price and then applied the 30% off the remainder. When I complained, the manager said the register would adjust the discount to be the same no matter what order the coupons were entered. What a cheap trick! The prices here at already higher than at nearby CVS stores!

This store have some of the most disrespectful and rude sale associates. Enough is enough with the blatant disrespect. The public is your number one priority. How dare you look down on someone because a question was asked about a product. But, I know what it is PREJUDICE at an all time high. Customers who frequent this CVS watch out for the sales associates who work in the front.

I used to get a prescription drug eye drops for my wife every month. As per company coupon I do not have to pay. But some times they do not charge and some time they charge $75.00. I do not have to pay as per the Doctor and as per the manufacturer. A lady on the back interfere in the conversation saying that the actual medicine cost is 385 dollars. Why she has to talk about 385.00 dollars when the company is giving the medicine for free and my company paying a huge amount on health insurance. Whenever i reach the pharmacy, that lady discusses about me or show arrogantly which I cannot understand. One person can spoil all the reputation there is no doubt! Therefore I cancel all my prescription drugs since now.
