Stay far away. Be aware of the ADT rep that's on your door immediately after you move in. These guys are as low rent to the point where whether they're stealing from you is in a great area.These guys came in, put in exactly zero hardware- used evething existing from the previous owners- 12 year old alarm sensors (hand dont work, nor are they very effective) and a panel- all existing from the previous owners. When ifs first signed up, my daughters sensor would not work so they sent a technician (who's. subcontractor, not an Adt employee). stood here, left 15 minutes later and I was billed $1k with line items that were simply made up/fraudulent. There are SOOO many better, modern and not scummy solutions. Embarrassing as an IT guy, but living in Manhattan it was never something I paid attention too. I was a mark and they got me. Half of it doesnt work on a good day, and you sure as hell are going to have some sub come tout and not fit it for $1k per 15 minutes. Do yourself a favor, read people's reviews.

I have had an ADT alarm system for over 10 years but my monthly rate has almost doubled since I signed up. I switched to another alarm company but unfortunately I can’t say I am fully done with ADT yet. When I called to cancel they thanked me for my customer loyalty for over a decade. They then attempted to retain me as a customer, to which I politely explained that I already switched to a new alarm due to the ever increasing bill. She told me that I could go back to my original rate from when I signed up, I again said too late. She then asked if I had called and complained about the numerous rate increases and I said no I had not. She then informed me that if I had called and complained that they would have just lowered the rate for me. I asked why wouldn’t ADT just continue to honor the rate from the initial contract. She told me that they would now that I called to complain. I then reminded her that I didn’t call to complain, I called to cancel my service. At this point she agreed to cancel my service but informed me that it wouldn’t be cancelled for another 30 days. I asked why would it take 30 days to cancel, to which she told me the same contract that no longer honored my initial rate says they cancel 30 days from when you call, thus getting one more monthly payment before you leave. I asked if the payment would be prorated since I was calling mid billing cycle and she didn’t know so I was transferred to billing. It will be prorated. If ADT had not continually increased my rate then I would still be a customer. With that being said, most alarm companies offer similar services and I now am paying another company less for more features/services.

This has been the worst customer service experience ever. I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to schedule a panel replacement, and they just couldn't seem to do it. It feels like they don't care about your protection or satisfaction.

Have spent hours and hours trying to get a brand new floodlight with camera to work and it doesn’t. Have been stood up twice by ADT for service. ADT sales made promises that weren’t kept. I’m furious and would NEVER recommend ADT to anyone. Looking to have the whole system removed now. Awful.

What a racket!!! Cameras constantly not working--no camera coverage, no clips--where's the security if you go for days on end with no video surveillance? Doorbell camera never worked, and could never talk to anyone at door. Ended up installing a Ring--in addition to ADT's junky doorbell so I could talk to delivery people at my door. What good are cameras that are constantly going offline? Again, had to install a Ring camera to see who was coming into my driveway. ANOTHER THING -- Lousy customer service. 45 minutes waits are typical, and then the person wants the customer to go around trying to fix things and when that doesn't work, it takes a week to get a tech person to come and put in place what you are already paying for--and then it stops working AGAIN! We have ADT because the equipment was already in place from the previous owners. My advice -- don't do what we did. ADT takes you money and leaves you hanging.

This company is OK considering my other experiences. I have had relatively good service both in Westchester and in Western Massachusetts. Don't write them off, but do call to negotiate the rate after the first year. And be prepared for many service visits over the years to tweak and correct things.

Before making an appointment for an agent to come at the premise, I had tp go thru several on phone technician. I am 80 year old and they gave me such a run around that I got fade up. It certainly did not give me good feeling about ADT.

We had a system they said needed upgrading to support a camera doorbell. We spent close to $500. To “upgrade”. We have spent 8 hours over two days with technicians and it still doesn’t work right. I now have to give up another day to spend with a technician. They have not offered us so much as $1. back for our trouble and, as I said, it still doesn't work right.

My ADT technician was patient and wonderful. The customer service over the phone was wonderful. I highly recommend them. It is worth the extra cost their service.

I had the worst experience with ADT. I signed up with them and the technician installed the sensors incorrectly and anytime I shut the kitchen light off the alarm system would shut off. I called ADT and they said they were restricted because of Covid-19 but I paid for 30 months without service. They were aware I had no service and they continued to charge me. The customer service does not help you and they overcharge you. I would not recommend ADT as other companies are cheaper and east to install yourself.

ADT left me without a functioning alarm system for 3 days, knowingly. Unable to disarm my system due to a problem at their end and despite the fact that they know I am handicapped they were in no hurry to get a technician to my home to fix problem. Could not open doors or windows. Shame on them. Customers come last.
