Very cheap and friendly-but-brisk little Ecuadorian steam table joint that's also a laundry and a deli. Super peasant-style cooking, like you'd find in a poor village 8 hours from Quito. The rice is strewn with ragged chunks of salami or hot dog, and the mote (roast hominy corn) is extra-greasy...intentionally. This is the real deal, if you're prepared for it. Stewy items (guisados) and soups are best. Don't forget to ask for hot sauce. Complete meals well under $15. Popular with Ecuadorian workers from the nabe. Asking for a Philly cheesesteak (or any other American food) would be insanely inappropriate.

can't believe this place is still open. They need to close the doors. I brought a sandwich and it was horrible. They always Make the same food on a daily basis on there Steam table. Staff here are are unprofessional Rude. I Really wish the old chef Was still working there He made some good food.dont even think about getting speedy service if your not Ecuadorian they'll just ignore you. I would have given this place a half of star. The pizzeria accros the street is way better

I have never been skimped as hard as I have here when looking for an affordable yet filling lunch. my complaints: 1) the roll on my BLT turned into a flakey mess when I applied just a little to much pressure to it 2) My mozzarella sticks were hollow 3) I let the BLT bun slide, but when I asked about the mozzarella sticks the owner snarled at me and yelled at me in front of my children as well as other customers.
