Truck Rental near Elmsford, NY

“I had reserved a 16ft truck from Penske three days ago by phone. When I went to pick up my truck rental yesterday morning at the Home Depot location in Yonkers, the customer service agent could not find my reservation. That was the first problem and it got steadily worse from there. He was completely checked out and totally uninterested in helping sort things out because he was focused on going on break with a coworker. He kept fooling around on his phone and joking with his coworker. Meanwhile, the clock kept ticking for me to move out of my apartment. The topper of it all, after wasting over an hour, he said that the best he could do is a 12ft truck not the 16ft I had reserved, then he proceeded to show us to a van. I guess he doesn't know the difference between a box truck and a van.

By now you might be wondering why the 5-star review. The answer is Niles Hightower, the new manager at the Elmsford office! He absolutely is the reason for the five-star review because everything that happened at Penske before his intervention was a total disaster. After getting my call, Niles stepped in to save the day! He found my reservation, located a 16ft truck and had it delivered to me in little over an hour. Niles is a consummate professional. He was sympathetic to my plight and intervened to set everything right. I could not be more grateful for his help and wish him much success in his new position!

Employees can make or break a company's reputation. Reading the reviews from other Penske locations bears that out. However, Niles Hightower turned a disastrous and unfortunate circumstance into a win for both Penske and myself, and for that I am truly grateful. I really don't know what I would have done without his help as it would have been impossible to take all my belongings with me being that I had to vacate my apartment that day. Thank you once again Niles!”

He worked with me to find a truck that fit my needs and communicated well in advance of my move in case I needed to make other arrangements. The truck was ready for pickup and nice and clean.
