Helderberg Meadworks is a hidden gem and a must-go in upstate New York. This business offers an absolutely amazing and great experience in a sweet tasting room and hillside spot. The mead is of super quality with a variety of natural flavors from local honey and berries, and it is a favorite for many. For a small fee, visitors can try a little of every mead they offer in a full flight, tasting all the flavors. The bar itself is a Norse pagan's dream with an unexpected Viking, metal, and renaissance theme. It is extremely welcoming, dog and family friendly. The staff are the most amazing, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable people, making visitors feel like part of the family. The experience is so great that many leave with a case of mead and a plan for future trips, eager to go back and bring home a couple bottles. It is a wonderful place to finally try some local mead.
Man I wish I wasn't from out of state. I'd be a regular for sure! Tracy was slinging the drinks and I felt right at home. Definitely a must go to if you enjoy great mead, Viking Theme(s), and a fantastic staff.

Thanks to my old college professor, I finally know how this place is in person and shoutout to the gentleman that ran the place. I tried every single wine in there and woke up this morning feeling absolutely invincible. Very military friendly as well. My favorite was the apple flavored mead.
