Very upset. They did work I did not want. Cost me over $100 and was stuff I didn't need or could've easily done myself. One of the items I mentioned when making the appointment, asking them specifically not to do anything with it. I guess it's possible that the person I made the appointment with did not communicate to the mechanic.
Edit. Though I have no wish to return here, plus 1 star for owner's response in <24hrs.

I brought my car for safety inspection. I made an appointment days prior. I show up 1st thing in the morning. The car inspection has failed . Instead of offering to keep the car to make necessary repairs he hands the car back to me without inspection sticker, tells me I have to make another appointment and doesn't tell me the inspection sticker was removed. The repairs were not even that extensive. 2 hours by his own estimate. Do not waste your time and money with this shop.

I aaked them to look at my clutch. I have a manual transmission. I explained it was itntermittent but had gotten progressively worse and was having to turn the car on and off to get it in and out of gear. After dropping it off they told me it was fine and just needed clean transmission fluid. The first day I drove it I was running errands in the city and the clutch completely burned up and I was stranded. I called them and told them what happened and all they could offer was "it drove fine for us".

2024Q1: My BMW racing buddy heard about Baris from a compatriot at our local BMW Club. He started getting his Bimmer tires here, and, based on his many good experiences with Baris Auto, he turned me on to this place. My daughter's fiancee had taken her car to his family's 20-year relationship mechanic, and, just by eye they said they would fail the car without new tires. They did the exact same thing to him with his NYSI the week before and he had to buy a set of new tires from them. As a result of this delay, my daughter's inspection expired, which would give a dishonest garage the exact kind of leverage they would use to manipulate a customer into buying services beyond what they need. I had my daughter (a young single female without automobile knowledge -- the kind dishonest mechanics prey upon) bring her car to Baris for NYSI. Baris carefully measured the remaining tire tread and, according to the specifications in the law, passed the car. This week I had an identical experience with Baris' NYSI measurement of my brake pads. Upon seeing how the honest, by-the-book, vehicle service & customer service experts at Baris handled matters, the fiancee switched to Baris. He got his father to switch too. Starting with the BMW CCA racers, that's at least four new families and ten new cars for Baris, just by word of mouth.
