I'm 34 years old. On my 7th birthday I adopted my dog April (then known as Chloe), a black lab / Brittany mix, from Lollypop Farm. April was a young puppy at the time and lived 14 years from the date of her adoption. She quickly became my best friend. In fact, at some times during my childhood, she was my only source of comfort. One of my favourite memories is how she would walk down the hallway every night, stopping in every bedroom of the house to make sure every member of the family was okay before walking back to her crate to go back to sleep. To this day, I have never met a better dog.Thank you for making that possible, and I'm glad to see that you're able to continue that mission all these years later! To anyone considering adopting through Lollypop Farm, please do.

Lollypop Farm is a caring and special place for many animals like the one we adopted and named "Mr. Blue" he was rescued by Lollypop workers when people in a metro-Rochester neighborhood said they had seen him wandering around and no one had claimed him as their pet. When I first saw Mr. Blue at Lollypop, he seemed scared, yet allowed me to pet him. When my husband came to meet him he nearly jumped into my husbands arms. We have had Mr. Blue for 2 1/2 years now. He remains very loving and close toward my husband and now is loving toward me too. He lets me know when he would like me to give him a "Greenie" treat and now lets me know when he would like me to brush him. The anxiety he initially showed by frequently throwing up still happens when there are unusual noises outside our house or people with whom he is not familiar. We give him a diet that is easier to digest with pumpkin that he seems to very much enjoy it. He is a very aware, playful and loving kitty. We are so very happy we adopted Mr. Blue who was 5 or 6 years old when we adopted him.

Volunteered here for years (cats, horses) and learned more than I expected to! Very high level animal care and behavior help. Then I fostered and adopted two cats. Was treated so individually and given so much.

A friend is having her dog put down today and was told several times that nobody is allowed to be with her dog when she is put down. How is a Humane society that supposedly loves animals, prohibits even one family member to be with their beloved pet when it is put down. It is unthinkable. I used an in home service for my dog, but other people do not have that option and need to use Lollypop. I know they are busy, so even a 15 min. time limit is better than nothing. How sad that they take dog away from family and do not let them in. However, if they want to return to buy a dog, you bet they are allowed in. Hope people go to their vet or in home services for a humane treatment.

This place has really changed over the years. I was applying and writing the SNIP program for several months and whoever was responding was very rude and unwilling to help or do her job. She purposely kept putting my dog on the waiting list once it opened up after several months and took forever to respond. Will never recommend or support ever again. Thankfully other places were willing to help.

I used to donate to this shelter and do the Barktoberfest. I was even a member for several years. 5 of my 7 rescues have been from that shelter. While I have literally been lied to about the dogs I was adopting, this last time was the last straw. I went to the shelter the first day of free adoption week (Sunday). The dog I wanted had a lump removed from his paw so I called Wednesday morning as per the caretaker to see if he was available for adoption yet. 3 days later, no call back so I called again. That call was also ignored. They blame being busy, but working non-profit and property management - you never ignore a prospect. Anyway, so when they finally get back to me they say he was adopted. 3 days later(Tues) THEY CALL ME and ask if I wanted the dog because the ones who took him home said he was "too much work". Of course I said yes. Well, I went down to spend more time with the dog (Thurs). Then I wanted to set up a meet and greet with my other dogs. They kept wanting me to miss more work by going in the next day when I kept asking for Sat. They finally agreed to Sat but would not put a hold on this dog when I even said, I do not do "sleepovers"; I will be a forever home. Well, nobody took him home so I went back on Sat. They only allowed me to bring one, so I brought the one that would have the biggest issue. Also, I inquired about this dog the during the free adoption event. Not only was I told when I was ignored until after he went home with another family "If the universe wanted it to be, then it would have worked out", but when he was returned and I was willing to take him despite how Lollypop treated me, they would NOT waive the adoption fee despite my pursuit for this dog being throughout the free adoption event. And they are the only well-funded to the point of financially well off shelter in the area. Well, it ended up they never tested this dog's lumps and bumps - which ended up being swollen lymph nodes. I do not know how they check for health but they do not appear to be thorough. The day I brought him home had really bad diarrhea and swollen nodes so I had him tested for cancer. Well, after only having him for 3 months and spending over $1000 on the dog, I had to put him down because cancer ravaged his body. Bad thing - Lollypop is not honest about dogs' behaviors and health (I was told one liked cats which was extremely important as I had 5 at the time. He hated cats) and this dog not being checked out more thoroughly. The latter costing 1k in 3 months of what was left of his life was difficult and painful. Good thing - I was able to give this dog the best last 3 months he had in his life. Will I donate to them - I made it clear I will take my donations to other shelters. Will I adopt from them again - probably because as I said to them when they would not waive the adoption fee and then asked "Will that be a deal-breaker" - I am all about the dog, not the shelter. So disappointed as I feel what the shelter used to be about, has declined with the growth in its funding and bank account.

We adopted a kitten from their Greece Pet Supply location. They took care of everything from meet and greets, spaying, deworming, and vaccinations. They even gave us a discount for free food & a toy! My cousin works at the main campus and describes it as a wonderful and warm place to work. Can't recommend enough!

I've had the pleasure to adopt at cat from lollypop, the staff is always professional, courteous, and helpful, and it's clear their priority is the safety and wellbeing of the animals there. They helped me find my best friend, Nugget, when I went to adopt a cat I had a few cats in mind, however, none of them seemed to be a good fit in person, so the staff brainstormed for a moment recommended a different cat and it was love at first site! I've had Nugget ever since then. I highly recommend and support this shelter.

I went to a lollipop farm with my kids to adopt either a cat or kitten today for their free adoption event, didn’t matter what kind of gender it was at that point, they said that I was denied adoption because I made a irate comment Tuesday at Webster Pet Supplies Plus about female kitten that I wanted. As of and told them that I had my 4 year old son who has autism and I didn’t seem to care at all … I said that I was sorry for my actions on Tuesday ….Right now I’m at a lawyer office to file a lawsuit against… lollipop with staff regret put me on the do not adopt list… They treat me with no dignity or respect …

What a wonderful staff and amazing people they have working there! The woman Suzie that showed me my kitten told us the price and we were a little weary but then decided to adopt the cat which we thought was a girl and I was at the pet store when she called and told me I would be getting my kitten for free because of a mix up and that he was actually the male of the two cats. Mind you I didn’t mind paying because I already had but the fact that they called and told me and refunded my money just shows it is an honest shelter that truly cares about their animals finding good homes! Our new companion is home now bringing so much joy to my 5 year old son! And he’s the most precious little kitten ever! I highly recommend lollipop farm if I adopt another animal it will only be through them! Thank you lollipop for the amazing experience oh and not to mention the kitten came fixed and vaccinated!!!! So happy with the outcome of our trip there. *update* since we adopted our kitten I’ve needed some paperwork I misplaced or didn’t have and they got back to me with everything I needed the SAME day both times! And today I was on a time crunch and sure enough they came through with what I needed even though they opened late in the day! They still sent everything along AND called me to make sure I got it! This place is absolutely amazing and the staff truly cares for the animals even when they leave the facility! Again thank you our kitten is wonderful and loving! Even adjusted so wonderful to my 5 year old!

My family adopted several animals from Lollypop while growing up in the area. They always had clean facilities and knowledgeable staff. They have great programs with local schools for vocational skills. The grounds and facilities are well kept and easy to access.
