My husband and I recently stayed here for our anniversary. The hotel itself is very nice and we enjoyed dinner at the Horizons restaurant, where the food and staff were amazing! We had a king room which had a decent amount of space. The bad: I'm not sure if it was the timing of our stay (St. Patrick's weekend), but it was extremely loud for what is considered a spa hotel. There was a room at the end of the hall that was having a party...with the doors wide open!! People were literally spilled out into the hallway, stumbling around, and one person even fell off a chair that was near the elevator. Equally annoying were the people who were outside in the parking lot screaming (not sure if they were a part of the party). The fire alarm went off at midnight, which my gut tells me someone pulled. So we had to evacuate the room in middle of the night while it was cold and drizzly for about 15-20 min.Lastly the walls must be PAPER THIN! I've stayed in hotel rooms where you can hear people next door, but it's usually muffled and you can't make out much. We could clearly hear the people next door to hear thier entire conversation....and everything else! Ended up having to sleep with the TV on.At checkout my husband did voice his displeasure with our stay and the receptionist gave us a 20% discount. This was our first stay at Woodcliff and I don't think we'd return. To be clear our problem was more of a guest problem than the hotel and staff itself. But being our first time theres no way of knowing where it was frequent behavior or a random occurrence.

I have been to the woodcliff a few times. sometimes to stay there, weddings or to go to the spa. yesterday I went and got a massage from Stephen and it was the best one I have ever had there! I went in with pretty significant shoulder and neck tightness and he found all the right spots and really worked them out. I will definitely be going back to him!

I have been visiting Woodcliff for over a decade since it is close to our home. This used to be my favorite hotel and a place I recommended to everyone - anniversaries, girls weekends, or a quick trip with the kids. I loved their spa, restaurant, and outdoor pool. I would have rated it a five four years ago. The past few times we have stayed, services have become worse, but I figured like most industries it was due to COVID so I kept coming back - shame on me. I would have given those stays three stars. This last stay however will be my last stay. For starters we came here during February break and the pool is freezing due to a broken part. This was the whole point of our stay with our children and it’s even too cold for them to use. The major problem for me is the smell of cigarettes in my room that appear to be coming from a vent in the shower. The smell is so strong that it is burning my eyes, making me cough uncontrollably, and causing a deep pain in my sinuses. I was told I could switch rooms in the afternoon and when I came back to do so they told me all rooms were gone. No one will even come check the smell to maybe correct or address the problem with the offender. I am scheduled to stay again in March and will be canceling that stay.

Nice hotel. I was disappointed that the heated pool was ice cold. The hot tub and sauna were nice. Our room was OK, little noisy. Near Eastview mall and restaurants.Rooms: The room we had was somewhat noisy. Loud noise in the bathroom above ceiling and heater rattled when on. Men were working in the hallway in the morning.

We arrived around 3:40pm knowing that check-in was listed as "any time after 4pm", but I thought I would just ask, as it was 22 deg outside. Unfortunately, the room was not ready. I understand policy is policy, so we waited in the car & came back in at 4pm. When it was our turn in line, we were greeted by a Front Desk Attendant, let's call her Jane. She was lovely and spoke in a soft tone. I did notice right away she was new, as she was asking a fellow staff for help. We were told the room we booked was not ready. She did apologize and offered us an alternate room. She stated the HK staff was "running behind", as they were "busier last night" than expected. I objected to not having the room we had paid for and asked how long the wait would be. She said at least a 1/2 hour, and added that she couldn't bother HK again because she had just asked for a status update. My first thought - couldn't someone have told us this 20 min ago when we went to wait in the car. Alas, we took the alternative room. Jane acknowledged that we were celebrating a birthday. She offered to send up a bottle of wine for our trouble. The check-in was fine after that but I noticed the couple next to us was receiving a lot of info from the Front Desk Attendant. He was professional, considerate, and took time to explain things about the hotel, and made them feel really welcomed. I found myself trying to listen to all the info he was providing. We left the room appx 6:30pm, no wine. I talked to Jane. She apologized and said she would make sure it got to the room. We got back to room after 1am – still no wine. We also noticed we had been charged over $300 on the credit card, which was not the correct price.Checking out - Jane was there. I mentioned no wine ever arrived, to which she replied that "he must have taken it to the wrong room", then went on to say that "someone had a good time with your wine". You should never make a joke at the expense of the customer. I explained my dissatisfaction with this hotel experience. I was polite and considerate. I referenced there was no info in the room regarding the pool, spa, restaurant, breakfast options, (not included BTW), etc. She said I should have received a text after check-in with hotel info - this never happened. She also indicated there is a $70 hold on all credit cards for "incidentals” – we were unaware. She apologized and said all this should have been explained to us at check-in. Well guess what Jane, that was you. She said she was overwhelmed with the line at check-in yesterday. I told her that while I understand she is new/learning, our experience was very frustrating, right from the beginning. She did apologize and offered a room discount, which I graciously accepted & appreciated.Jane did stress that they want the experience to be pleasant/enjoyable, & was hoping we would come back and give them another chance, and try the spa. I can be a very understanding person - I just would have felt better about the experience if Jane would not have made several excuses for why something didn't occur. For a hotel that rates itself as 4 stars, offering a spa experience for relaxation, we didn’t find much relaxation with this experience. Granted, this was only one night and I'm assuming from other reviews this is not the usual experience for guests.Pros - security guard at night was friendly/super funny. Staff member to greet/open door– also very nice/pleasant. Lobby was pretty/inviting. Good amount of parking. Room clean, appeared bug free, bed comfortable, two beautiful, soft, Spa robes available to use & amazing shower. Room recently had some ascetic updates which were nice, however torn mattress cover was icky. Hot tub bubbly & clean. Views were beautiful. Apparently, they have hiking trails & can offer snowshoes - I overheard from other guests.I'm thankful for Jane's apology & room discount. I believe she was sincere & indeed wanted us to return in the future. I think I w

The new renovations to the spa and tranquility area and facilities are wonderful! Everything is easy to access, comfortable and all the staff made us feel very welcomed. We went for a birthday, group of 4 and there was so much space for everyone to have their own section while they waited for their treatments without disturbing one another. The furniture is so cozy and comfy. We all had an excellent time!Safety: Big parking lot and secluded hotel off the main road.

We had the most wonderful Valentines Day! The wife had a sensational facial, thanks for Jocelynn, who made her feel special and beautiful. She was RADIATING from her spa session. The Eminence creams and products were the perfect combo to the bubbly and strawberries! The entire resort was immaculate - from the lobby, gym, pool area, and rooms. We had a lovely surprise at the room, which was decked out in rose pedals. Our biggest thanks to Jeffrey at the Restaurant for his kindness and warmth, Justin and Vicky at the front desk for helping us get checked in/out, and of course our lovely caretakers and custodial staff.Mega shout out to management for running the TIGHTEST shifts! We were greeted by Shane who took the time to help us grab our belongings and call the elevator to speed up our entry.Hats off to the breakfast chef and staff at the restaurant - too many to count!WE WILL BE BACK! thank you all soo much!Rooms: Clean and luxurious. excellent water pressure and great skin/wash products!Safety: Very safe and well-watched by crew and staffFood & drinks: excellent culinary experience for breakfast! coffee was unforgettable!

We have always stayed here while visiting family and are currently here for a week while our home in Fairport is being worked on. The entire staff is amazing. The beds are super comfortable. The standard rooms are nice enough. Nothing fancy but very clean and well appointed. The restaurant is called Horizons and it is fantastic! The bar staff are all really great people and know how to make a mean craft cocktail. We highly recommend Woodcliff for a great experience all around.
