I’ve been overcharged for rentals *three* times here.(1) At the start of this summer, I was charged last year’s higher rental rate. I went home to discover that they had been advertising reduced prices this year and that I’d paid double the rate. I let it slide.(2) On a different occasion, they tried to charge me double this summer’s advertised rate again. I pointed it out there, and they apologized and told me that they’d accidentally charged me the rate for one of their higher end boards when I’d borrowed a basic foam board.(3) On yet another occasion, I was charged more than double what I should have been charged (more than the price of a full day rental when I was only there for a short period). Could have been inadvertent, it was a busy day for them and they didn’t ask me to sign for the charge and may have confused me for a group renting multiple boards. I only discovered this after looking at my credit card bill after getting home.If you rent from here, please pay extra attention.

Picked up some food board shorts and rented a board. The staff was very helpful and set me up for success with the right board for the weather conditions.

These guys are great, they sell used boards for a good price. If you want to rent or get your own board, do it through them. They’re local, easy going and offer lessons as well. Good service, good vibes ?

These peeps on 67th St Rockaways are so my vibe. Tony, Oliver, Ala + fluffy Maui are so awesome. Super lovely, professional, fun + engaging. Plus they have all the gear you could ever need - boards of all shapes + sizes, suits for all types of weather, + cool merch. I’ve only met with them twice but they have a way of making you feel like an old friend. Super happy to support them!! They will be my go-to for sure!! ??♀️

Osvaldo and his team at surfboard tribe have every kind of board you could be looking for. He's also great at making sensible suggestions on what to rent (or buy) depending on your skill level and conditions ....we had a great experience overall renting with them.

I rented from Surfboard Tribe about 10 times this past summer and I will continue to show support! Tony, Oliver, Ala, and Maui (the cutest dog) are all so friendly and helpful. They are a joy to see every time. Pricing is affordable and absolutely worth the good time. This team has helped to create an amazing surf culture around Rockaway beach. Hope they stick around forever!

Highly recommend this shop - all the staff is super friendly, and they have reasonable rates and many options for surfboard rentals.The shop is on the beach, and you won't have trouble getting to the water!

This is my go-to spot for board and wetsuit rentals. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff with great prices. They are quick to respond with any questions and very accommodating if you need to rent anything before their designated hours or if one decides to swap out a wetsuit vs a rashguard and have plenty of boards available for one's skillset.
