I'm visiting from out of state. Yesterday I called my physician first thing in the am to call in an Rx for me. I chose Duane Reade because the location was close. I allowed time after calling my physician, and called the pharmacy at 2:00. They advised me they did not receive the prescription yet, but added all my information to their system to save time when it did come in. They also asked to send text messages for status/updates. At 7:30 pm I called again. The advised they did not receive the prescription. Knowing it was after hours, and my physician would no longer be in the office, I was annoyed. This am I called my physician's office back with a slight attitude in my voice, and they advised they called Duane Reade as soon as we got off the phone the morning before. She added, they used the automated system, but this is something physicians do. I call Duane Reade as soon as I got off the phone, and they said the Rx was in. When I told them my physician called it in the morning prior, they said the Rx was not received until 8:02 pm. B... S...! Really, my physician is calling in prescriptions at 8 o'clock at night! Hmmmm! It is more like they did not pick up the automated Rx's until 8 o' clock. I believe it may have been 8:02, but it was 8:02 am and not pm. And I NEVER received a text advising it was ready. After all, isn't this the reason for signing up to receive text messages! If they had texted me after this, I still would have had time to pick it up. My Rx was a medication to help reduce the severity if taken early enough. I highly recommend going elsewhere if you have other options.
