The vets and staff were so kind and wonderful and sweet to my dog. However, the estimate for pulling some of his teeth was $7,000 ?!?!?! How do you expect anyone to afford that? Do you think I have an extra $7,000 dollars lying around? Seven thousand dollars. Seven thousand !!! I left your office and had a panic attack in my car because I thought that there was nothing I could do to help my dog. We called The Jefferson Animal Clinic in Brookville, PA (who removed some of our dog's teeth when we first adopted him from the shelter) and they got him an appointment, scheduled it for three days later, and extracted the rest of his teeth (among the battery of tests they provide) for $400 total. He is completely healthy and healed now. What makes your practice think it's okay to charge that much? Because you use some new fancy equipment and are specialists in dog dentistry?? Because you're in NY state and the cost of living is higher?? I am fully aware that these surgeries are expensive-- I was expecting it to put a dent in my credit card... but, again, SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. Brookville, PA is like 5 hours away from Fayetteville, NY. If anyone needs an emergency dog dentist, you could drive down there, rent an Airbnb for a week, schedule a consult, and get the surgery done that same week, and go home without spending anywhere near the $7,000 that this place is charging. Now listen, I'm sure your practice is soooo much better than this tiny one in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania and your doctors are top of the line blah blah blah so you get what you pay for and blah blah blah... if a vet can do this for $400 why would the same procedure cost $7,000 here?

The care in which everyone there provides to our cats has been nothing short of spectacular. They are all so kind, caring, and knowledgeable in their treatment of animals. Our two boys needed full extractions and with their care and expertise, we are beyond thrilled with their progress now and would recommend anyone in need of similar services to Dr. Davis and the rest of the staff there. Definitely A+

I brought my cat to Animal Dental Specialists of Upstate New York because my cat had to have all of her teeth removed due to stomatitis. They were detailed, thorough, and communicative - they explained the process to me every step of the way, and were attentive in their follow-up after the surgery. I was very anxious about having the surgery done, as it was invasive and expensive, but I am very glad I entrusted my cat to the folks at ADSUNY. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing dental care for their pets.

The folks here are incredibly professional and compassionate. Scheduling a consultation was easy. They also have a waitlist and can call or text you if an earlier appointment opens up. The vet has a lot of dental expertise (like way, way more than most general practice vets that we've had over the years) and explains things really clearly. They take photos of your pet's mouth so you can actually see what's going on. It only took 2 weeks after our consultation to get our cat's dental work done (vs. a 4-6 month wait at our regular vet). She was so well-cared for on the day of her dental surgery, and they made our aftercare instructions for her super easy to follow. She went back for two complimentary checkups, just to make sure everything was healing well (she had a lot of stitches!). I would recommend this practice to anyone with a pet who needs dental work -- they provided exemplary care. We'll definitely be returning if any pets need dental surgery in the future.

My kitty was in so much pain and was struggling to eat and losing weight. She needed all of her teeth extracted. The incredible and compassionate team at Animal Dental Specialists got her the help she needed and took care of her as if she were their own beloved family member. It’s been less than a week and thanks to this amazing team Luna is eating without pain and is happier than ever. I cannot thank them enough for their expertise, compassion, and top notch care!

I’m from Philly and am only in the Syracuse area for a short time so I was not a client of a vet up here, so when my cat clearly needed to be looked at for dental issues this was the only place that could get us in. They were able to get Linus in so quickly for the consultation and they ended up getting him in for surgery quickly as well. The doctor himself is such a nice patient man and takes the time to help pet parents really know what and why there is an issue. The front desk staff are some of the most kind women I’ve spoken to and they really try to make you feel comfortable. Yes it’s expensive but I’d do anything for my fur baby and now that he’s back to being his happy normal self after being so uncomfortable I can say it was worth the price.

Love this place. Our dog Betty got recommended to go to an animal dental specialist. She never got taken care of before we adopted her three ago. She had bad teeth. We got recommended to see animal dental specialists of adny. As one of the options available as vet dental specialists. Glad we did Dr. Eric Davis and his team arranged a consultation appt to meet him. He went through everything that needed to done for Betty and how it would cost. We setup a time recently to get the dental work done. They kept us informed during the whole procress as it's happening. We recently went back to him for a followup on her teeth. She is doing great. I'm glad we saw him and the team. It's worth the 2 hour drive to fayetteville/DeWitt area to save her teeth. They treat they're patients like they are children with love. I would recommend any one with dogs or cats to see him as a dental specialist for animals. Will continue to see them in the future. Thank you Dr Eric Davis and staff at Animal dental specialists of adny for doing what you doPete stotz.

We brought our 8yr old 4.2lb Pomeranian to Dr. Davis for dental work and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Our Lola had a stroke when she was just over a year old and is taking blood pressure and blood thinner meds so we were concerned how she would tolerate the procedure. Working with her neurologist and our local vet, Dr. Davis came up with a treatment plan that suited Lola's needs. All worked out great!Lola needed all her teeth extracted (she "only" had 18 teeth left in her mouth). Dr. Davis explained all the steps for the procedure prior to our trip there (3 hours from home) via a video conference. On the morning of the procedure he was great in explaining what the X-rays showed and what he needed to do. We were kept well-informed at all stages of the procedure. Making leomonade out of lemons, the final cost for the procedure was less than the original estimate, since she didn't have the full complement of teeth.Dr. Davis and his staff are knowledgeable, capable, and, as important, compassionate and empathetic. We felt Lola was in good hands. After the procedure we had many questions and Laura (and everyone we spoke with) took the time to answer all of our questions without us feeling silly or rushing us off the phone. We highly recommend Animal Dental Specialists - we will be making an appointment soon for our 9yr old 4.7lb Chorkie.Thank you Dr. Davis, Laura, and all the staff!

It was definitely worth the time to drive to Syracuse from Buffalo to have them care for our 10+ year old pomapoo's decaying teeth. They were not only kind, attentive, thorough, and patient with my husband and I, but they most importantly gave their utmost attention to our dog. They were also very responsive to all of our questions both before and after our dog's surgery. Our dog needed several teeth pulled. We were initially very concerned that our dog's quality of life would be impacted from having several teeth pulled. Turns out, our dog's life was impacted from having so many decaying teeth. He's doing very well just two weeks later. He's eating and playing and enjoying life. We're slowly learning to love brushing our little guy's teeth. They will send you home with a little cheat sheet of how to brush your dog's teeth. We've made it into a little game that our dog seems to enjoy! Thank you, again!!! You guys are great!!!ouro

This dentist needs to be put out of business ASAP. He is totally incompetent. We took our dog to him a few years ago because he was recommended as the best dentist for dogs and our dog needed to have some of his teeth removed. At the time he failed to put a cone on him after the surgery. This resulted in our dog loosing his eye because he severely scratched it and it ruptured. When we took the dog back to him to deal with the ruptured eye he did not want to do anything and suggested that we take him back to our regular vet or to Corning. At this point we took him to our vet so they could remove his eye because we totally lost faith in his ability to treat him properly. Then today during his regular dental cleaning, our vet informed us that he found a dental drill embedded in his jaw bone which he informed us was there long enough that they can't remove it as the bone has grown around it.Our vet said he believes that this was left there from the original surgery. There is no way to remove this drill bit and probably explains why our dog ended up scratching his eye initially leading to his loosing his eye. This is totally unacceptable and is definitely incompetence on the "dog dentists" part.So be advised, this Dr is anything but a overpriced hack that should not be in business.EDIT: Updated to include x-ray to show that this account is accurate.

I’m very thankful that my wife found Animal Dental Specialist. We reached out to them and explained the issue our cat was having with his teeth and gums, and Dr. Davis and the entire staff took the time to explain what options we had. After the successful surgery a complete rehabilitation plan was laid out. Due to Dr. Davis and the entire staff’s knowledge, care, and compassion our cat is healthy and no longer in pain. Would highly recommend Animal Dental Specialist to anyone’s pet dental care.
