Rachel "hired" me to work during tax season (I am a CPA) in 2017. Gold Standard does not have an office, and it is strictly work-from-home, which is very appealing. She instructed me to buy a second monitor (at my own expense) to accommodate the software they use; which I did. I was given my first tax return to work on, with a specific deadline. I started working on it, saved my work, and before the deadline I received a nasty e-mail from Rachel, berating me for taking too long and informing me that someone else in the firm finished my work, and that my services were no longer necessary. I reached out to Gold Standard based on positive Yelp reviews. There aren't too many CPA/Tax businesses with review on Yelp. Gold Standard had 5 five star reviews from 1-2 years ago for their FIshkill location. After calling their local Fishkill number i spoke to a very nice lady I was told that they do not have a physical location where they could meet with me and they "only schedule meetings in public places". I was a bit surprised by this but still willing to consider them so I asked if they could provide references. I was told that I would hear back from them and I did later same day. Email came from Rachel basically telling me that they would only do phone calls and if I wanted references I should look on Yelp. Rachel's email signature had California address and phone number. I don't know if this company and services they offer is a scam or if they have moved recently and want to continue with old location in a remote fashion but feel that it should be made clear on yelp and their website that they are a virtual company that doesn't offer in person services in the area. I for one do not feel comfortable hiring a virtual accountant and others may feel the same way.

After moving to NY I was completely overwhelmed with relocating and new work. I wasn't sure how to go about filing my taxes not only for a new job but having to file in two different states but Gold Standard Tax was able to help me accomplish that and relieve some of my stress. Now they have helped me file my taxes for over 3 years. The turn around time is quick and the the filing is easy. I can do everything electronically. They show such great personal interest and are always looking out for what's best for me.

I'm really amazed at all Gold Standard Tax team accomplishes. Not only do they spend time helping and explaining but they actually come to you and train you. It really helped me understand the full picture. This Gold Standard team are always on time and very proficient at what all they do, they live up to their name!!!
