Wadler brothers is a fine example of a well run family business despite its massive size and variety of goods. They sell building supplies, lumber, and household items. The staff is very welcoming to the lgbtqqip2saa community. When your not sure what you need, or where things are---just ask for help. The staff is so kind. I really enjoy shopping there...

Been going to Wadler's for years, even before the old building was flooded out.They have all high-quality products, a huge inventory, and the owners and staff are ultra-knowledgeable.Great Benjamin Moore paint and accurate color matching.Best , neatest hardware store in the Catskills....

I DONT KNOW who those people were in that video but I’m sure beyond a doubt that they DONT live here! I’ve been using Wadler Brothers for over 15 years .. paint , wood, hardware, tools, .. you name it I’ve purchased it there….I’ve asked for advice, help in finding stuff, recommendations about products and the best way to accomplish what I’m working on.. I’m not a contractor just a Do it yourself person.. I’m (now 74) a grandmother, wife, homemaker, teacher, I use big tools, tablesaws, chainsaws , scroll saws and a variety of other tools around my house and homestead…. I have NEVER had a bad day at this store with ANYONE…. Owners, counter guys, outside workers…never ever have they been anything but polite and extremely helpful…. So all I can think is the people who uploaded that video are miliinnials who don’t know howto be human beings…. I’ll bet that the words in their vocabulary do NOT include …please , thank you , excuse me, no mam yes sir !!! Just sayin…

I would give it 0 stars if I could. This establishment is very unreputable. I stopped in to purchase some antifreeze test strips and I noticed the one they tried to sell me expired 6 months ago. They had a whole box of expired strips. I told the clerk I might consider purchasing them at a discount because they shouldn't be sold anyway. I figured I would use them for a quick test before I could purchase good reliable ones. He checked with the owner/manager and came back to tell me to buy them or leave them. He added there isn't another place around that sells them. That might be true but I guess they never heard of the internet or Amazon. He put the one I was looking at back in the box before I left. Hopefully future customers will be as observant as me and hopefully they will have that box for many years.

Multiple disappointing and degrading experiences in which we were mistreated because our small business “doesn’t purchase as much as other customers.” We’ve made multiple purchases almost daily for over ten years. I have receipts to back this up. As a representative of my business and clients, we had to stop doing business with Wadler Brothers, not because they belittled our team regularly but because the owners put their interests before the customers. We were picking up lumber and having a great experience with the staff member when the business owner went out of his way, walking across the lumber yard to intervene. He yelled at his employee, told us we were not allowed to choose our lumber, and forced us to take warped lumber. We expressed that this lumber was for a cap railing on a deck. Jason’s (owner) response was I don’t give a s***. This is sad, considering we’ve been loyal customers and have family members who’ve worked for Wadler Brothers for decades. I’m going to be completely honest I stayed strong as I advocated for my father’s business, but as soon as I got into my car, I was in tears. I was taken aback at how Leroy (owner) condescendingly spoke about my dad, who wasn’t even present. It was clear that he, a 50+ grown man, was trying to trigger me, a 23-year-old after I tried to reason with him about all that had transpired. He kept telling me it was just business, but it was a personal attack. A few store staff members are lovely and always give excellent customer service, but others have the same self-interest that the two owners I’ve mentioned above have drilled into them.We recommend Curtis lumber in Delhi, Pickett’s Building Material in Oneonta, and Herzog’s True Value Home Center in Kingston. These are great alternatives where you will be treated with the respect that every customer deserves.

Great lumber yard/elec/plumb/hardware/home supply/garden store. Always helpful and well stocked. They even helped me out with a portable air tank when I got a flat tire on the way there. Thanks again guys!

Leroy is awesome and always helpful. Love my local hardware store and lumber supply. Recent sheet rock delivery went smooth and punctual.
