I have been renting cars from the New Hyde Park location of enterprise for almost 15 years, but yesterday, I had the absolute WORST experience I have ever had. My daughter had a reservation to rent a car. She went in. The only person there at the time was the manager named Melissa. I couldn't even tell she was a manager. She was dressed unprofessionally, and she was wearing jeans and a hoodie. My daughter paid for her reservation and called me to discuss everything she added to it, and she told me they charge a daily fee for roadside assistance. In my experience, roadside assistance used to be included without an extra fee, but I guess that's changed now. So I told my daughter to let me talk to the person she was dealing with. She put me on the phone with Melissa. I asked her if it was possible to get a manager discount on the price so I could purchase roadside assistance and not have to pay too much. Her response to me was that what I was asking was "unethical." This was so bizarre to me, I had to question it a few times wondering why on earth she was calling me unethical so her clarification was "if I do this for you it will be unethical for me." Which is literally the same thing. She went back and forth with me, justifying that my asking for a discount was unethical. I was losing brain cells talking to her, so I told her alright, fine, I'll pay that price and just give my daughter the car. The call ended, but a minute later, my daughter called me back from outside the enterprise store, saying Melissa canceled her reservation and said she no longer "wanted" to give her the car. Never in my life have I experienced a salesperson refuse business. This was a shock to me. Since Melissa didn't give my daughter a car, I had to go pick up my daughter and so I walked back inside the store, I went to Melissa to let her know that accusing me of encouraging unethical behavior and then canceling the reservation over a minor back and forth on discounts was nasty and wholly unprofessional. So I took my daughter to another enterprise to get a car and once they put her name in the system, they told us they won't give us a car because Melissa sent around the message to all enterprise locations that we should not be given a car. She became vindictive and took a personal vendetta against me and my daughter all because I asked for a discount?? The only reason I think for her overreaction is that she is either racist or thinks she owns the place and can do anything she wants to. She did mention arrogantly that she has been working at that shop for 5 years. She needs to be demoted from a manager position. She definitely doesn't understand the basic management principle that any conflict between customer and management is a spark. The manager has 2 buckets to use , one filled with water and one filled with gasoline. She definitely used the gasoline bucket. She needs to be disciplined and trained well. Message to Sr management: I want senior management to open an inquiry on the incident and report back to us If no action is taken, I would assume management support Melissa's action and then take this matter to good business bureau and consumer affair as case of rascism and or Enterprise creating monopoly by buying other companies and not providing the best services to the consumers. Really annoyed with this location. I had a reservation for 9:30. I walk in and they let me know they have no car available right now! How? If I had a reservation and they even called me the day before to call. Then I get told to wait 15 minutes for them to get a car delivered for me. I come back in 15 minutes, still no car, and I am told to wait again. What was the point of making a reservation for a specific time?? I never had an issue with Enterprise until this moment and this location. Will not be back and I do not recommend.

I have a friend who is involved in a Hit and Run situation. Unfortunately this was a rental from this branch. The accident occurred at 2pm and waited almost 3 hrs for police to arrive but nypd never arrived nor call back as of today writing this review.The friend called insurance company around 4pm and at 540pm arrived at the rental car because insurance company said to go back to rental car and return the car and get another one.The office wad already closed but Anthony came and heard my friend story saw the video of hit and run and worked after hours to ensure my friend had a working car instead of waiting until next day.This made a HUGE difference in my opinion. And it's because of people like ANTHONY that will want me to keep coming back to Enterprise for future rental.

I rented a car at this location and I do not regret it. From the minute I walked in to the minute I dropped off my car everyone was friendly. Desiree was so helpful in helping me with my rental. My car was clean it got me safely to and from Maryland. All the employees were amazing.

If you are reading this review because you are trying to convince yourself that this is the right location to rent a car... then let me tell you this, GO FOR IT!I never before was treated SO GOOD at a rental car place. Everyone there is so kind and professional. Caroline and Anthony were amazing! When I went to pick up the car, they told me right away that I needed to wait because it was a busy Holliday weekend (Labor day) and they were working on getting me a car ASAP. They never gave me any excuses for the wait (I appreciate honesty). So, if you know you are renting a car on a busy Holliday weekend, be prepared to wait a little bit longer. You are not the only customer!They work very hard to make everybody happy with their rentals, and when I went back to return my car, Caroline remembered me and even asked how my trip was to Niagara Falls, which I think is very nice taking in consideration that they probably help hundreds of people weekly.Guys, keep up with this amazing customer service job that you are doing!!!Thank you, thank you!

Good customer service but only few people work there so only go when you got atleast 30 minutes to an hour to spend to just rent a car

I had a pleasant experience renting a car in this location. My usual go-to is the airport location but the time of pick up and drop off was suitable for this office anyway. I went inside and was assisted within 5-10 mins by Desiree. She was very lovely and personable! She showed me the car that I reserved, we went around it for inspection, and did the transactions through the tablet. No need for paperworks, I was out and about quickly. The car was cleaned properly prior to my rental. The return was just as easy and Anthony assisted me. I'd highly recommend this location!
