Perfect place to stay in NY. Only about 60 miles outside NYC. We ventured into the city once, but the peace and quiet of this campground was what really needed.

As well maintained campground. Flat level very deep site. Nice fire pit. Utilities all worked perfectly. Half hour to West Point on game day! Will be back! We stayed in a 28 foot class C. But would have had no problems if we still had our 40+ foot 5th wheel.

Black Bear campground is a peaceful spot. Level spots, good wi-fi. Not a lot of amenities but great location very near Legoland.
Nearby activities: Legoland is only 10 minutes away

We loved our stay at this campground. Very family friendly with a great new playground for kids. A paved loop by our site allowed our little ones to ride their new electric scooters till they wore themselves out. Lots of great hiking paths. Overall a very well maintained site but minimal, no shop or arcade or any jazzy extras. They’re working on adding some things in the coming year and we will definitely be going back. They are located only 15 minutes from Legoland which is why we went. Also, the customer service was fantastic. They were available via text and email and got back to us with any questions very quickly! Even later in the evening when we first arrived. Thanks for a great weekend, Black Bear!
Nearby activities: Legoland, apple orchard, drive in movies, a village with a fantastic ice cream shop!

We have been stopping in overnight at Black Bear for the past 3 years on our way back from Myrtle beach. This year was different. The online reservation was completely painless (was before!) and the check in was easy also. We even met a live human being who greeted us and told us where our site was etc. In the past this was not the case. The new management team headed up by Tom are great. We will definitely stop again next year on our way back home. Nice and peaceful place close to the hiways and of course… The Outlets!!!
Noteworthy details: Close to the Outlets!!!

The place has lots of wild life and is peaceful but I don’t understand why is so expensive, showers barely worked, no hot water, bathrooms dirty, low maintenance in general in the common spaces, I feel like it has potential but it should charge half of what it does right now… there’s no amenities to be charging that amount

We stayed at Black Bear RV campground for a mid August weekend to be close to a baseball tournament! It was perfect for our needs as a baseball camp! Right now the campground is pretty bare but it has so much potential! The owner Tom was great to work with! After meeting him, we heard about all the updates he is making to the campground such a pickle ball courts, basketball courts, a new pool, etc. Currently they have tons of space. There's a nice playground for young kids. So many hiking trails and lots of wildlife! Tom was very accommodating and easy to work with! We look forward to seeing the updates and can't wait to return!

We drove our camper from Tampa, Florida to Florida, NY never having stayed at Black Bear having grown up nearby. But what an incredible place to be! Convenient to local friends and family, and a bus ride into the city, what really struck us was the professional, immaculate and scenic aspects of the campground - and the warm and responsive nature of the owner, Thomas.
Several local friends and family members visited us there and it truly became a home away from home. And there are a lot of great places to see nearby! Of all the campsites we visited over our long trek northward and back again, including several KOA’s, Black Bear was truly the diamond of our long trek. The summer weather was refreshing for us, still the electric service was perfect - no problem with the AC.
Missing the fall foliage having grown up nearby, I would love to return in the autumn, or even the winter, knowing that Black Bear has hookups for even the coldest days. I cannot recommend this park enough but hesitate to help oversell it so much so that the next time we want to visit, there won’t be room for us! Enjoy!!
Nearby activities: Our favorites are Warwick, NY and Stormking Art Center,
