This bank robbed my elderly mother's life savings of just a few thousand dollars. Over a year later they haven't returned a single dime and they said their "investigation" could take YEARS. Plus they charge me a fee every month for keeping the account open while I try to resolve. I hate this bank.

This is about Citizens onlineI can't get into my account! It's a small business account that has been with Investors Bank and was bought out by CitizensI was finally able to log in but there is no account associated with my name. Ugh! I called and after spending a lot of time fighting with their phone tree, got a rep in Cost Rica who didn't speak English too well. I asked to be transfered to a US operator. It took ONE HOUR. When was finally able to get a US rep the connection was very bad. He took my phone # and called me back. Twice. But I could not hear him at all.So far about 1-1/2 horus spent. I still can't access online banking. I'm VERY frustrated. Santander has been courting me. Maybe I'll try them. Citizens is a waste. I would not recommend any friend, client, or Yelp user use them. Customer service is non-existent.

I went to a branch to close my old HSBC personal line of credit or else they would charge me maintenance fees. The bank employee told me they could not find the account, and relax, it's probably already closed. The next day, Citizens sent me another statement. I called the phone number on the statement. After waiting for nearly an hour, they CSR said I have to close the account at a branch. I asked to speak with a supervisor. Another half a hour passed, and they said, "Sorry a supervisor is not available. Either I quietly go to the branch, or call us back tomorrow."I replied that they should be aware of this policy. They said yours is a special case. I asked where the CSR is. He said El Salvador. I said "What if I was in El Salvador and had to close this account?" He replied, but you are not in El Salvador.Fine, what if I was in Florida, California, or anywhere there is not a Citizens Branch? Am I forever paying Citizens for the privilege of paying for a $500 line of credit that I never use?At least while I was waiting on hold, I filed a complaint with the New York Department of Financial Services.

Citizens Bank recently acquired this HSBC branch, and officially started operating in early 2022.Facility:This facility did not get a makeover or renovation. It was rebadged and there was a small change over of the paint scheme to a mute nuetral tones IIRC (I only went into the branch like twice).Signage on the exterior of the building and on top of the pole by the parking lot was the only cues when they rebadged from HSBC to Citizens Bank. Green signage with white lettering. At the front entrance a small fouyer is located with one line ATM matchine. When the bank is closed the secondary doors to the bank are locked. The ATM looks like it was changed over to their branded ATM machine and to get in there is a Bank Debit Card reader located on the right of the exterior entrance door. You can probably use your credit card to gain entrance to take cash out. Fees will apply if you are not using a Citizens Debit Card. The interior of the bank for the most part did not receive any changes other than paint scheme to a nuetral color like off white IIRC. To the right wall/windows as you enter are three to four Customer Service Representative cubicles. There was a standing table in the middle where you could get bank deposit amd withdrawl slips, and also fill them out withthe pens provided. IIRC that has been completely removed. There is one or two additional CUstomer Service cubicle straight ahead and in front of them are three to four seats for customers to sit.The tellers are to your left as you walk in. There are now these divider strips to direct you to get on line to approach the tellers. The tellers are behind a couter with plexiglass wall with small slot by the counter to pass your checks, cash or slips to the teller. The only change I can recall was a numeric keypad and I think a pad to sign your signature for transactions.Due to the change over in May 2022 when I visited the customer service representatives seem to be very busy adn theri interations with HSBC customers were very protracted. There was only one teller on duty the day I visited.Experience: (As an HSBC transition customer.)Let me just state that this is just my personal experience, and yours may be better. I will note that on the day of my visit many of the customers were not happy.Bank Operations and Policies:As a HSBC customer we had certain expectations and policies we were accustomed to. What we encountered from Citizens Bank that most surprised me were the differences in business policies. The most harsh difference was the change over to a fee based schedule that charged for anything and everything. The amount of money you needed to have in your accounts to not be charged a monthly service fee is a bit higher now with Citizens Bank. That plus all the charges for small matters and transactions that were not charged with HSBC and even other banks was very off putting and the main reason we decided to close all our accounts as soon as possible.Once we closed our accounts in May 2022, we noticed that we were still receiving statements in June. We glanced over the statements and notice that we were charged for Overdraft Line of Credit fee. I called adn eventually went in person to the branch regarding this matter. I explained how can I be charged an Overdraft Line of Credit fee in June when I already closed the account in May? Customer Service Representative removed the fee (zeroed out our account) Later n in June again we got another statement. I contacted Citizens Bank about this and they said I shouldn't worry. Just yesterday 7/17 we received another statement again. It reflected a credit was applied that removed the Overdraft Line of Credit fee. Today 7/18 I was floored with disbelief when my wife told me she got an alert from Chase Bank that Citizens Bank reported to Experian, "Reported Delinquent", which impacts our Credit Rating. We had to contact Experian directly to contest it for both her and myself. I contacted Citizens Bank and encountered a quagmire of bureaucracy. First I was told after contacting Customer Service that I would have

Staffs here would like to give trouble to customers not helping at all! They don't let me edit a check that was issued by myself before deposit! They threatened me if I deposit an edited check even with my initial sign, I may get the check return and charges!

Went there to deposit cash at the counter. After everything is done and left, she called me back and advised me I was short $15 on the deposit. Felt really strange because I was there for 10 mins and she did not check the count on the machine but gave me the receipt for the amount. I was driving, so I just told her to deduct $15 from the deposit. What’s even more strange is that the transaction for the $15 is a withdrawal. I thought it should be an adjustment. Feel scammed by the bank teller.

Honestly, I never thought I would leave a review for a Bank but I have had it with this branch. Likely 9/10 times I go to use their ATM to make a transaction and it is out of order. My experience is- it seems to work through each prompt, then fails right before the end of the transaction, providing me an error message 'to contact my financial institution.'I also hardly use their in-person services due to limited branch hours, however any time I have, they're not very friendly and on top of that they're very slow to complete each customer's transaction. They appear to have limited staff, 2 tellers during busy times and you can up end standing in line for at least 15 minutes. I would not recommend this branch, they do have parking which can be helpful but either way, their live services are flaky or their ATM is out of order; can't say you'll be leaving as a happy customer. Don't waste your time here.

I was having a problem with my accounts at capital one and needed to set up my new direct deposit from my job ASAP. My friend told me about this bank and decided to give it a try. I went in and the staff was wonderful. I sat with Wennifer and she helped me set up my accounts. It has been a few months and I must say I am very happy with my accounts there. Did I mention I now get free checks? Thank you Wennifer for helping me get started with you guys.
