**Review:Misleading Advertising and Managerial Practices at Party Wow! Based on today (01/28/2024) store experience:****Advertising Practices and Financial Expectations:**During my visit to Party Wow!, I repeatedly noticed in-store advertisements stating "50% off Halloween Merchandise." This phrase was displayed at least three or four times throughout the store, creating an expectation that the discount would apply to a wide range of Halloween items, including costumes, masks, makeup, accessories, and decorations. Based on these advertisements, I anticipated spending between $200 to $250.**Checkout Experience and Managerial Response:**At checkout, the cashier separated my Halloween items, suggesting a need for managerial approval to apply the 50% discount. However, the manager restricted the discount solely to Halloween decorations, dismissing the broader interpretation of 'Halloween Merchandise.' This unexpected limitation significantly increased my bill to over $400. Despite this exceeding my initial budget, I proceeded with the purchase due to the necessity.**Legal and Ethical Implications:**1. **New York General Business Law, Article 22-A (349-350-E):** This addresses deceptive acts in business, including false advertising.2. **New York City's Consumer Protection Law:** Focuses on preventing misleading offers and advertising. The store's approach raises concerns about compliance with these laws, given the legal expectation of clear, honest promotion.**Managerial Conduct and Customer Experience:**The manager's dismissive conduct and the misleading nature of the in-store advertisements significantly impacted my shopping experience. This highlights the need for improved training in customer relations and adherence to advertising standards.**Conclusion and Recommendations:**I recommend Party Wow! urgently reassess its in-store advertising strategies for clarity and accuracy. Additionally, managerial staff training is essential to effectively handle such discrepancies and align with legal advertising standards. Addressing these issues is vital for customer trust and adherence to consumer protection laws.

Wow what a rip off. I brought in some balloons to fill and was charged 11$ per ballon. They were not large by any means. Found out after most dollar stores will do the same for a dollar. Overpriced…you can find most items at dollar store definitely don’t go here for balloons!

So on three occasions, I've processed their large balloons and every single time there's balloons last less than a few days and start to deflate. When you're paying between $15-$20 per balloon, you would expect it to last at least a week. I don't know what they're doing wrong, but either the quality of the balloons is really bad or their helium isn't great I really don't know but it's just been very disappointing. And with all of that being said, there's always usually one girl at the front who takes forever trying to help you and ring up people at the same time or they tell you they don't have the balloons you're looking for and you're forced to pick a different style. The overall experience between the wait times the poor quality and the non-existing balloon styles is just way too time consuming and stressful for something that should be very simple. If you're looking for balloons go elsewhere.

Be very careful when purchasing here, they charged me twice because of their faulty transaction system. Manager did not refund me my money.I will file a complaint to the BBB in regards to this fraudulent and sneaky business.

I specifically went in the store to ask for cat eye contacts and they told me that they had and handed me a pair I paid for them and when I got home I realized it was black out contacts instead. I ran back to the store to exchange and the manager made a whole story and said that it was not their mistake because they don’t have cat eye so they cannot exchange it. Worst costumer service from the employee that handed me the “cat eye” contacts to the manager not taking responsibility if his employees mistake …..

BE WARNED! Costumes missing pieces!!!! When you try to exchange or return the owner accuses you of lying!!!!They emphasize that all sales are final even though there are missing pieces and will refuse and exchange or refund. Very rude customer service by owner and staff! Also extremely over priced for low quality products.

Today I went to Party Wow! Upon entering the store I was asked to look into my computer bag. Which I allowed the security guard to check no problem. As I was walking I over heard the owner Luci Tinari asked that my bag be searched before leaving. As i was heading to the counter for my purchase the guard approached me. I asked to speck to Luci she refused to speak with me. This is is no way to treat your customers. I will not be back. Do not shop at this location

Entered party city today to buy balloons for 1st day back to school and security asked me to leave my backpack which is my main handbag I wear everyday. I was in shock he asked that I take my wallet and check my bag in....What? since when? had a bigger bag July 28th and no one asked me to do such thing. If you guessed right I turned right around and left!

Can't believe "management" now has some guy at the door taking your bag and giving you a ticket. He stops me with my tote entering, saying I have to leave the bag but can take what I need. I take my wallet, the balloons I need blown up, and the clear bag to put the inflated balloons in. Guess what was left in my bag?... My receipt from another store! He took my empty bag from me just for me to walk straight over to the balloon counter right there in the front of the store. Guess he felt ridiculous keeping an empty bag since we came over to the balloon counter and returned it to me and asked for the ticket back. Not all are treated equally.Oh, did I mention, I loved that the "manager" came and hovered behind me a few feet away till I was finished and left the store. Will never do business at this store again. I wish I had checked the recent reviews before going there.
