I could not have been happier with my experience at Star Toyota. After searching for a car for many weeks and meeting lots of shady, rude, dealers (see my review of New Rochelle Toyota!!) I finally met Wali (his full name is Zahed Wali) at Star Toyota and my search came to an end. He was immediately communicative, forthcoming, did not try to gouge me on the price, got me a good deal and stayed in communication over the couple weeks we had to wait for the car to arrive. Five stars no question!!!

The worst experience of my life!!!!After I checked the price on Star toyata website and talked with Alonso (Sales representative) he asked me to come to Star Auto Sales of Bayside, I decided to go there on a whim. I made a deal with Sean Hogue ( Certified pre-owned specialist) to purchase for Rav 4 LE. The very same day I paid the deposit of $500 and did all the paperwork. They even called Geico Insurance for me and made our car insured on Thursday of August 12. After they hard pulled our credit, financial manager Ray Berrios (the rudest person who thinks he is privileged to spit any lie) offered me to finance the car for 4.6% APR and assured nothing can beat that price; however, when I later told him that I was offered 2.9% APR by my credit union this guy went mad and started yelling. Anyway, after contemplating for a while I agreed to pay 4.6% APR and informed Sean that I want to pay and take the car the same day. But I came to find out that this egoistic arrogant guy, Ray Berrios (Financial Manager) blocked the car sale and went home without any notice. I assume he just didn’t like us. Sean however assured like five times that the car is ours since we already paid the deposit and is insured. Surprisingly, when I went to pick up the car today (Aug 14), after an hour wait, Sean told that Ray Berrios advised him that the car is sold which he couldn’t confirm though. In a little agitated voice, I admitted that they just wasted two days of my life for which Ray Berrios threatened me to call a cop and immediately leave his store. I am not gonna take this lightly and will definitely sue since they took my deposit, made me do all paperwork, hard pulled my credit and made me insure the car with an insurance company. What I don’t understand is how can such an unprofessional person like Ray Berrios represent one of the biggest car companies. It’s a shame!!!!!!

Very, very, very bad customer service. Came to buy a car. From the beginning they started lying about everything treating me like a person who does not understand anything. They gave tild one price but on papers was completely different price. And when I told them about it they just ignored it and told me “do you want to buy it or not” after which I just walked away. This is perfect place to get screwed.

What a bunch of scam artists. Went there to purchase a car cash but they insisted I must finance the car. Then when I declined to finance they price jumped up several thousand dollars more from the advertised price. SEAN you’re a disappointment. AVOID THIS PLACE BY ALL MEANS

I just got my first car, 2018 Rav4, from Sean. He is a very nice salesperson, knowledgable and professional. He put everything on the table. NO HIDDEN FEES! ONLY TAXES AND DOC FEE! I went to 3 Dealerships before I reaching to Star Toyota. All other dealers were pushing me to make decisions, but Sean is different. He let me looking at the car and doing a road test. Very chilly. That car actually drives like a new car, good maintenance from the first owner. And I got a good deal from Sean with discount, lol. I would recommend everyone who wants buy come to this place. Definitely talk with Sean!

THE BEST!! I'll be honest with you, I never enjoyed shopping for cars until I came to Star Auto Sales Of Bayside. The staff is very knowledgable and I feel very comfortable and confident doing business with them. We bought our first car here in 1998 and haven't gone anywhere else for our cars since then. Now many of our friends and family members are using them and they are just as happy as we are! I would give them 6 stars if i could. Thanks Star Auto!

I have purchased several cars from Star Toyota used in Bayside and never have been disappointed. Most recently my wife and I purchased a car for our growing family. The Star team couldn’t have been more helpful. The manager Ray took time out to really find what my wife was looking for. Great selection and super clean showroom. Keep up the good work Star team. We will be back soon

Say what you will about car dealerships, but my experience @ Star Auto Sales was not what I expected. We expect them to be friendly, but the staff went beyond with finding me the perfect car @ a price I could afford. Beep beep. Thanks guys.

Everything you're told will be empty promises. You test drive the car, drives fine but the interior and exterior is barely clean with oily wax applied all over the hard plastics, tree sap and tar stuck to the roof, and tire pressure sensor showing an issue. They tell you the car wasn't detailed but will be ready for delivery and tire sensor issue fixed. You will be lured with everything you want to hear when it comes to your budget but when it comes down to the financial paperwork, the numbers won't match what you told them. Anytime you ask for a total purchase price, the financial manager just tells you the monthly price and feigns fake calls if you persist about the same question and will tack on the compliments and what a great decision and low price you are getting. You'll be tacked on with warranties you didn't ask for or want. Somehow the great reliable car you want to buy is now going to break down suddenly and you have to buy the warranty. They assure you the warranty covers everything with no issues. But you're done hunting for cars, tired of finding something right for you and you go with the purchase and pick up the car the next day. Later you notice, the car wasn't cleaned, all the stains, dirt and grime is still there and the tire pressure light is still flashing. You review the paperwork with someone whose been through the deceit and lies of these con artists and you realize that $15 monthly extra for the tire and wheel warranty and $50 monthly for the service warranty is an additional $4500 in principal balance (before interest). Your original budget of 12,000 is now $20,000. You read the terms and conditions of the extended optional warranties, and everything covered excludes wear and tear or if it's caused by the driver which is determined by them. So that pot hole that bent your rim not covered, tire leak from glass on the highway not covered, transmission making weird noises or issues with the struts not covered. There's a $200 deductible on any claims made which is more than a price of a new tire or rim but they'll only repair your existing one. In short, you paid them $4500 for nothing. Good news, the paperwork says you can cancel the optional warranties. It just has to be done through the dealer. You come back the next day to cancel those, they refuse. They want to redo the whole financial deal. Take it or leave it. You mention the terms and conditions, they say they are the law, they don't care what any paperwork says. They will start yelling and slamming the table about how you don't teach them their jobs. The financial manager will begin his personal attacks on your buddy to discredit anything he's saying. Paperwork and the law means nothing to them. You talk in a non English language with your buddy and the guy calls his ethnic translator who tells him the details of the conversation between you and your buddy. You're tired and need a reliable car. Despite the law and your legal rights which they don't care about, you redo the financial agreement. That $1500 trade in value for your old car turns to $500. The 4% interest rate is now 8%. However your original balance of $20,000 is now $13,000, magic right? Extended warranties should never be tied in the purchase price of the car alone or the financial agreements but here it is. They break the law but know most people aren't aware of it. The tire sensor issue persists. You visit your mechanic who tells you the tire value and sensor is faulty. He fixes the value but you go to the dealership about the sensor. It was pre existing when you bought the car, you mentioned it, they said it would be fix and now they will tell you to pay out of pocket to fix it and none of the warranties you originally had would have covered it as sensors being faulty over time is normal. The mandatory warranty provided by NY state for a used car doesn't cover it either. Looks like another $300. These people are scum. They are a living example of all the horror stories you hear and read abou
