It's an okay grocery store. Good variety, but still missing lots of items I would like. The aisles vary greatly in size (some will be very spacious while others are super cramped).

The moral of the story is I go to that location weeklyish to do food shopping for mom.I rarely say never or always..that being said..I ALWAYS HAVE A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE . ALL THE PEOPLE ARE REALLY GREAT. FROM THE GUARD AT THE DOOR TO THE GUYS IN PRODUCE AND THE FOLKS IN THE DELI. CASHIERS ALSO.....Soooo keep up wat ur doing And I feel bad taking an item off the shelve because there ALWAYS (there's that word again)PERFECT!!

Great place for central American, Mexican and other Latin foods that would otherwise be very difficult to locate this side of the border

Doesn’t have much variety . Most of the items are of Hispanic heritage. They are overpriced items. Most the produces or meat purchased are spoiled easily. The security at the front door looks like a douche. I seen him harass numerous people. The employees don’t even speak to much English. I would not spend another dollar in this store.

Walked in at 710 and asked the cashier if they are open, cashier said they open at 730. Told her online online it states they are open at 700 on Saturday and she says it's wrong. Need to fix the time they actually open

As a former employee, the working environment gets so toxic it is never worth the min wage cause it is draining. As an employee; I went absolutely above and beyond to meet and surpass the expectations of the job. Customers would easily agree and even managers and co-workers. That totally did not matter because one little misshapen and you’ll be getting yelled at by the owner if she felt like it cause she was in a bad mood, co-workers would tell me they’d get that type of treatment as well. Its absolutely crazy to believe that as a human being you can treat another human being as less just cause you can. I understand a mistake that could’ve been my partial fault but its not okay treat your employee as total garbage. Thats why words and communication are a thing. I hope for better things for the employees there right now and wish that owner and her staff can find enough self-love to not spread more ugliness in this world.

They're robbing us with the ridiculous prices there, no one understands English hardly. They don't know where they own products are. It's sad.

This review is for Gala Foods Supermarket, used to be C Town. Not to be confused with Gala Fresh Farms on Grand Ave in Baldwin. Gala foods is great for produce but even better for hard to find Caribbean items such as avocado leaves, real Guyanese jerk sauce, fresh goat, and the peppery but sugary ginger beer beer for those fans of the Moscow Mule who can't seem to get get the recipe right when attempting MM at home. I'm not sure whether the Breyer's at 4.99 is a sale or an everyday price, but that is great as well. Now I'm not gonna front and pretend that I know what dried avocado leaves go in and I've yet to attempt cooking pig ears that my buddy's mom used to make make; but it's comforting to know that there's a store where I can find ingredients not typically found in suburban supermarkets. The one down side is if you want those omega 3 or free range eggs you'll have to pay quite a mark up of 8 bucks for 18 Eggland Best which is usually 6 bucks at the non Caribbean markets. Although parking is limiting, there are spaces right adjacent to Gala along Merrick Avenue. I am glad that this place exists.

Once again I was overcharged for my groceries. The shelf had one price but the register had a different, higher price. This happens regularly.
