I went here today to take care of some paperwork. While I do dislike Fidelity overall I'll have to admit the workers here were very polite and helpful. So not sure about all the other negative reviews. But things were actually good, but again I do dislike Fidelity and moving my business elsewhere in the future. But I'll give them 5 stars because today they deserved it.

Several years before my retirement, Fidelity helped set up a cash flow plan. Even after my retirement, Fidelity has stayed with me and tweaked the plan as needed. As a result, I'm having a wonderful retirement!

Fidelity Customer Service....please get your act together....You are supposed to be running a financial institution.... Yet you run your customer service department like a Mickey Mouse institution. How can I feel comfortable letting Fidelity handle my money when you can't even open an account or get a simple wire transfer done???

Very poor service. Essentially a storefront with that Fidelity name to bring in customers who think they're going to work with professionals. Once they have your account, you're own your own. You end up either waiting on hold for 20 minutes to get through to an 800 number, or try to do it yourself on their website, if you have days to waste trying to figure it out. If you have a question you need to make an appointment. Forget about having a "personal representative", they are always "in a meeting " or nowhere to be found. They are very friendly until they get your account, then you're on your own, call the 800 number and talk to some kid in Minnesota who might have read a book about basic investing. Unless they can talk you into signing up for their commission accounts, which you will do better just putting your retirement account into a bank (yes, they will try to sell you stuff because they get commissions). If you just want a place to put your money and "do it yourself ", it's marginal. You can get the same mutual funds and actually deal with experienced financial advisors at Charles Schwab down the block. The Citibank branch will also give you better personal service.

I would say they were helpful in getting my IRA from my old job and my kids plans transferred over. However I'm puzzled by the lack of follow up. I know I am not their wealthiest client by far but it was a decent amount and I would have liked to have heard some ideas on what they offer. I was rushed out and have heard nothing in the last 4 months. I guess you are just a number. On the plus side the trades are much cheaper than Edward Jones.

They mess up so many times they are not trustworthy. They sold an annuity to my parent, just months short of her 85th birthday with a penalty of 7% for early withdrawal before the 7 years. It is actually illegal to sell this to an 85 year old. The interest rate was minimal. Luckily we acted quickly and got this "investment" cancelled. They forgot to put investments in the DRIP program several times even though we specifically requested. When confronted, they did nothing about the $4,000 loss in asset value it caused the investment. There were several other problems as well...In short DO NOT USE THEM! They do not "advise" you but help themselves to your assets to earn commissions.

They messed up SEP IRA to my employees with 4 individual checks with SEP IRA's and names identified and put it all in 1 account. You go their in person and they mess up the simplest thing!! Tried to fix it via phone to fidelity to correct and 24 hours later they still had not fixed there error totally unacceptable. Considering move to JP Morgan or Vanguard as they are totally inept and mishandle money and investments.

The staff here was adequate although not very friendly. They kick customers out before 5:00, so don't come close to closing time if you want anything they were able to open an account near the end of the year hence the 3 rating
