The owner is very nice and so is her entire staff. Came here in a whim for a blowout. Took 30 mins from shampoo to the chair and cost $35. If you’re in a hurry, I’d recommend coming here.

I love coming to this little salon for my weekly blowouts. Rose and her lovely team of stylists are always so accommodating, and my hair always comes great. So many people have complimented my hair whenever I stop in for a visit at Hair on The Avenue. I highly recommend Rose and her team for your next hair appointment for any occasion..

Nothing I hate more than bait and switch pricing. Do not have a large sign outside advertising $30 blow outs and have me sit through a blow out then show me a calculator with $40 on it when I go to pay. They are also apparently cash only and I had to pay the atm fee next to the register ($5 fee between my bank and the atm). So my $30 blow out was suddenly $45. Won't go back.

Worst hair salon experience of my life! Do not go here for blonde highlights! I asked for balayage and this is what I received. I could have done it better myself! I sat in the salon for 7 hours while they tried to fix it. Every time they took the foils off it still looked horrible and wasn't blended at all. They kept telling me it looks great.. does this look great to you?! By hour 6 I was crying in the chair. The owner Rose got in my face telling me I don't know what I want as if I was the problem! I finally had to just leave the salon even though I was unhappy because I was mentally drained and couldn't stand another minute. On top of it all they charged me $200 for a botched hair job! I wound up going across the street to Salon Imperiale the next day begging them to fix it! They did an amazing job & executed it exactly the way I hoped & asked for. Do yourself a favor and go there instead!

Seems if you don't look a certain way, they won't help you. BIG sign outside that says "walk-ins welcome" ...yesterday my friend walked in after work to get a wash and blow out for his long hair. Maybe they're not used to men with long hair...they had only one customer and everyone else was sitting around...they told him they were booked and to go to the barbershop next door (you don't go to the barbershop to get your hair blown out/straightened, even if you are a man)...he's a paying customer who tips very well (their loss). He recently moved to the area and didn't want to drive to his old salon, so he decided to try locally...BIG mistake as they wouldn't even talk to him since they obviously didn't like how he looked. Hair is hair, since when did it matter who's head it was on :\

She Kept answering the phone during the blowout, other hairdressers didn’t. Waste of time, and I was busy.

Only redeeming quality of this salon is the sweet woman who manages the phone. But the woman who blew out my hair was unacceptable. I asked for my hair to get blown out straight with a little body at the bottom. I offered to show a picture of it, but the hair dresser said she didn't need one. She ends up blowing out my hair and makes it wait more curly and full of body - not what I asked for. Then charges $30 instead of $25, which is the price clearly marked outside. The reason for the up-charge was that my blow out wasn't straight (which is what I asked for in the first place). So that just added insult to injury.

The best blowout by far you will get and for insane price. I go here weekly. Ive been everywhere in GC and nothing compares to 25$ for a 30 minute great blowout

I made an appointment with Hair On the Avenue after a friend highly recommended it. I was weary of the salon because I was used to going to Dry Bar in Manhattan/Roslyn and loved it. But Hair On the Avenue blows Dry Bar out of the water. My blow out was amazing (both times I have gone). My stylist scrubbed my hair so clean and blew out my hair with brush curls in half the time of Dry Bar. My blow out also lasted 6 whole days without having to touch it up at all. At Dry Bar my hair barely lasted overnight. I will never get a blow out anywhere else. The decor / experience of Hair On the Avenue is 'no-frills', but I will go here over any other 'high end' salon without question because of the price and quality. Such an amazing find, I look forward to going back every time.

I am very distraught. I feel so ripped off. How do you tell me one price when I'm about to pay than you say another ? Not cool . The work that was done is not worth the money they charged me.
