Rude and pretentious is an understatement. I received a sweater as a gift for my daughter and it was too big so I figured I could exchange it for a smaller size. The sweater is in stock and same price etc. You would think me asking this was an unreasonable request bc it wasn't within their 21 day window. So we can all get this straight; if someone receives a gift from this store, they are supposed to know your return and exchange policies? I was able to exchange the sweater but they also asked for the name of the person who bought the sweater as well as my name and my address...all for a baby sweater. Cute stuff but not anything out of this world you can't just buy direct from the brand online. I probably won't be back just based on the lack of friendliness and pretentious attitudes of the workers.

Been going to this awesome store for 17years. Staff is always friendly. I Have bought so many great gifts there for family friends and myself. There is no store like it.

If I could give zero stars I would. Utterly unacceptable customer service. No manager. Run by children. Tried to exchange a gift that was given to me 1 week prior and by the time I could exchange it it was five days overdue their two week return policy. I had just been given the gift! No exceptions not even to change the size. It doesn't even fit. Not a way to run a business. Asked to speak to manager or the owner and was given the run around. Never will shop here and would not ever recommend.

I bought my wife a gift prior to the pandemic, did it locally to support a local shop. What a mistake. My wife returned the item which they happily excepted back, and they refused to allow us to use the credit. In any way. They said it expired. We said there was a Pandemic shut down and our daughter Also had a serious brain injury. These people are thieves. Literally thieves. They steal your money. Stay far far away. Evil, rude, arrogant, do yourself a favor, and order online.

Received a gift for my granddaughter. It was to small, I went to return, exchange, store credit anything within 2 weeks of of the purchase and was informed very rudely that they cannot and will not do anything. The staff is rude, nasty, disgraceful and the manager would not come out until I raised my voice only to be told to leave. I have grandchildren, my sister has 15 grandchildren and we both know how to let everyone how to never walk into this store and spend a penny. The fortunate thing is I have the entire conversation recorded so I don't really have to say much just let everyone hear. The proof is in the pudding.

BUYER BEWARE!! RUDE TRICKY STORE horribly representing the Lily Pulitzer Brand.I purchased a $240 Polyester Lily Pulitzer pajama set, for my wife, on December 23. I was dealing with the owner Carol, and they only had the pajama bottoms in a “small” size.I wanted a medium and was told, BY THE OWNER, to come back after Christmas and they would have “mediums”. I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT MY HIGH REGULAR-PRICED PAJAMAS NEEDED TO BE RETURNED BY JANUARY 12th or else there were NO EXCHANGES ALLOWED!!!I was conned !! Needless to say after going away after New Years and giving them more time to get the right size in stock, my wife went to exchange, just exchange!!, the product for the right size on January 20th and she was rudely told by the owner, “NO AND THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS!!” Her defense was that this little horrible store had a “policy” and that they weren’t a Lily Pulitzer Corporate store, so they had the ability to treat my wife like some sort of riff-raff.I HAVE PURCHASED OVER $3,000 OVER THE YEARS AT THIS STORE!!! Judging by all of these other reviews of the store, they have a horrible reputation for being rude and conning customers. I don’t expect any comment from this store as they seem to think that in today’s day and age reviews mean nothing. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING IN THIS STORE!! I WILL ADVISE LILLY PULITZER THAT THIS STORE IS A POOR REPRESENTATION OF THEIR BRAND AND I WILL ADVISE ALL OF MY SUBSTANTIAL NETWORK OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO SPREAD THE WORD AND STAY CLEAR OF THIS ANNOYING STORE.BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Awful return/exchange policy! For a business specializing in baby items, many of which would presumably be packaged as gifts (as they offer gift receipts), you would think they would offer a better return/exchange policy for items that have never been used. Avoid at all costs if you're buying gifts!

I was just in there with my 2 year old daughter. shopping for her as we are going away to celebrate her birthday. she was holding on to a little piano keychain and a wolf light. as she's playing with it, the store manager approached her and snatched it out of her. she stated "I don't want her to break this". the lady stormed off and put it away. I explained that the reason she was holding on to them it was because it was the only one and we were purchasing it. my daughter began crying. the lady did not care and did not apologize. I told her I'm the adult and the mother and she speaks to me. she can address her concerns with me and not my 2 year old. she blaintly told me that's my assumption and she was not sorry. Her employees apologized in her behalf. They said she was the boss and she's ruthless and unprofessional with every customer that goes in there. I do not recommend her store based on her treatment towards a child. It was ruthless and unprofessional. She lacks customer service skills and should not be running such a beautiful store.

They seem to want keep (STEAL?) your money without providing a product, based on both my experience and those cited in various reviews below. There are better places to shop that actually care about clients and don't try to steal their money. Bought a gift for my wife, tried their local shop to support it v online, even before pandemic hit, and my wife returned it for credit. Then Covid hit, and due to a child with a serious brain injury that makes Covid extremely dangerous, we have not shopped in person until today. They refused our credit; said it expires, and they were also unnecessarily rude to my wife - consistent with the reviews below. So they took our money and provided no product, also consistent with lots of other reviews below. I will give the owner one shot at rectifying the situation, and hope that this is the fault of her rude staff, Nicole. If she resolves it, I will remove this review. If you're seeing this review, it is not resolved so stay far far far away!

Sad to post a negative review but feel strongly about some flexibility for out of town shoppers (I live in Pittsburgh). I purchased a Lilly Pulitzer dress from the Island whom I've never shopped with before. I received the dress but was on vacation at the time of shipping so I waited to try on Easter morning only to discover the chest was too small. Today (day 30 from receipt) I called NY store to ask about how to return. They said I couldn't because I would've had to return within 21 days. There was ZERO flexibility despite my pleas for leniency. I guess at The Island, the customer is not always right. I was 9 days past their restrictive return policy and they would not bend whatsoever despite my request for even a store credit to purchase something else. I am a big Lilly shopper and grew up on Long Island. Sadly this will be the first and last time I will give them business and will notify my family and friends in Garden City, Bethpage, Floral Park and Huntington about my experience. I, too, am a small business owner, and they had the opportunity to do the right thing, but chose not to. Very disappointing.

The staff is so kind! Just bought a nice bag for my friends birthday, and they happily wrapped it! Only thing that I’m disappointed with is there prices! I can’t even by a dress for less than $70!

Received a gift for my newborn daughter and they were not able to make an exchange for a smaller size even though it was within less than a week return/exchange policy date. Very poor customer service and clearly doesn't put the experience of the client first. Will not shop here ever.
