At 68 , I have been going to Roosevelt Field since before it became an enclosed mall , through the years when it was the world's largest enclosed mall ( the 70s ) and have seen endless changes there . I visited yesterday , my third visit since just before Christmas , after a hiatus of about 3 years : my impressions are very mixed , but mostly negative . 1 ) The clientele is substantially young , and at all ages , quite mindless : texting and phone chatting while not looking where they are going . Even well dressed adults would swish by , with manners totally absent . 2 ) Security was scant and stationary , which is not the way you manage numerous roaming groupings of young men 3 ) The music throughout the mall was generally awful , even in civilized Williams Sonoma 4 ) There are many classy outlets , but so many outwardly glitzy shops gave me the net impression of coating polyurethane on a pig : no class , no elegance ( Psycho Bunny ? Really ? ) 5 ) Many young salespeople looked so nasty / hostile/ grumpy /bored from the outside , that I didn't bother to look inside 6) A few more mall directories would be helpful .............. The mall was far better during the mid '90s ( after car jackings caused security to get beefed up ) and shops like The Museum Store , Papyrus and Long Island Catholic Supply added a touch of civilization ....... However , do check this place out because there is much worthwhile , but a visit before 5 during weekdays will make for a more relaxing experience . Be sure to visit the little museum on the second floor ( outside of Nieman Marcus ) detailing the fascinating history of the airfield for which the mall is named and who's space it now occupies . Why there are no prominent displays honoring Quentin Roosevelt , for whom the airfield and by extension the mall was named is a sad comment on mall management . A son of Theodore Roosevelt , he gave his life for our country , being killed in action as a fighter pilot during WW 2 .

The mall is growing and becoming great again like in the old days. my two concerns are this ; 1] this odd man who works in marc jacobs . He has terrible customer service, always smells like cigarettes and make me feel like a un-welcomed paying patron. He has blonde long hair and wears glasses. Marc Jacobs is a nice store and he's putting a damper on the positive vibes. 2] My other concern is the Mall management. On the few occasions I called ahead of time to voice my needs, whomver took the calls on the extension blew me off and hung up on me. The only other floor manager I see walking around is a shorter gentleman and he seems to be a provoker of drama and nonsense rather than avoiding it or preventing it. I see the way he interacts with the men verse the women and he is not as kind to the women. [the workers and the customers] I have been observing these things as I shop here often. I should never feel intimidated by working people . A mall is a place to escape and enjoy not be intimidated-especially by the managers as I do very far from the wrong things. He may not like how I look or dress but it does not give him any right to scare me or bully me. Do your job and leave the extra drama at home. I do not have these negative thoughts from other malls in other cities and states. Just know that what these paid workers are paying attention to are not helping the mall be safer or better. Be wary of these two working in the mall men.

This is a pretty decent mall with many stores and lots of parking. Located on Long Island in Queens, it took about 40 min to get here from the LIC/Astoria area. I'm sure you can prob get here by public transportation but it would take awhile from Manhattan. We came on a Sat around 12pm and it was pretty packed. The food court is located near Primark on the 2nd floor. There was a chick fil la with a long line but it looked like it was moving fast. There is also little beet (healthy option), wendys, teriyaki place, cheesesteak place, naya, and taste of little india; those were the main places I remembered in the food court. After eating we walked around the mall for about an hour There are many stores and major dept stores (nordtorm, bloomingdales) to explore. There are some full service restaurants in the mall as well.

One if the few malls left that's actually thriving. Plenty of retailers to choose from and it's clean. Food court has a large selection of eateries.

Great mall with plenty of shops, lots of parking and if you get hungry, there's lots of eateries, from a large variety at the food court to restaurants near by, large and clean corridors with plenty of light.

Very nice mall. The redesign I think brought more customers, but I do miss the old food court.

I'll say this, it's my favorite mall. It's huge! Lots of great stores, and even on Labor Day when there were lots of people, it didn't feel all to crowded because the mall is so big. Always something to do here, and always something to buy!

I just wouldn't shop with the footlcoker sun this mall. They are slaving the poor teens who work there. Such hard labor on these minors. I felt so bad. Such a big company making so much on these exclusive kicks & got the NEVERR to pay $14 an hr sickening.

Came on a Sunday and there's a reasonable crowd. For any mothers nursing or pumping, there are nursing rooms!! There's one by the food court bathroom but it requires security to open the door for you. There's another one on the 3rd floor of Nordstorm in the bathroom by the children's section and it's very nice with sofas and outlets if you're pumping!

Man, Roosevelt Field Mall has been on my list for about two years, and making this stop was well worth it as it happened to be this year, 2023. I made this stop while I was in Long Island, and was able to do it because it was on my way home. Possibly one day maybe I'll make this stop again from home because it REALLY was worth it. Traffic and parking are the main concern, coming and leaving - caution is definitely required. Finding a parking spot was no trouble, as the parking lot is huge with different areas, also including parking garages. For me, it didn't take too long to find a spot. The mall itself has a beautiful interior look, despite a big renovation that took place a while back but doesn't affect anything. The hallways look extremely clean, kept up, and nicely touched which made it so enjoyable to look at. The time they put into it sure pays off. Take a look for yourself when you visit, and just take in what's all around, kind of has that nature feel, except, obviously, you're inside. Each section of the mall has a unique look in terms of that. There are a number of stores and services to offer - many with familiar brand names, Macy's, JCPenny (not closing any time soon), Norstrom, Bloomingdale's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Primark, along with many high-end stores which will not ring a bell to most. Most of them looked very appealing with nice products and also looked fancy. The food court is a great place to go to, with many food choices to pick from, along with many tables and seats. Also, there are a number of restaurants to choose from as well, in different areas of the mall. A lot is offered under one roof. I'd say this is one of those malls you could just walk around all day, with so much nice scenery to take in and to just simply kill time. I honestly can't wait to make this stop again.

I enjoy visiting this mall. There is a huge selection of stores, both affordable and more high end stores. The food court has a good selection of items with fast service. The inside of the mall is very clean and well kept.

Honestly if this mall ever shuts down, mall culture on Long Island will never be the same again. It's the best place to shop on Long Island, high end stores, bargain deals and a plethora of places to eat. Venture out a bit further and you can find Target, Barnes and Nobles, Costco and Lowes in the surrounding area. In addition to its size, its also an attractive mall considering many portions of it have glass ceilings you can see the sky above. My only complaints are really just parking and getting to the location. You come here during the peak on a weekend? May the odds be ever in your favor. Plus the roadway around the mall can be a bit complex so, for me, its hard to land in the exact area of the mall you want to enter. I usually find myself at the Bloomingdale's or Macy's entrance and sort myself out from there. But overall, if you're looking for a post pandemic mall experience on LI, I highly recommend!
