As event photographer I had the great pleasure to photograph the Graduation ceremony in June 2023. Saint Basil Academy is a residential institution for at-risk students run by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in Garrison, New York.

I worked at St Basils briefly when I graduated from college— the experience I received there was fantastic for a career in child psychology, but even more important was the LIFE experience it gave me. Between the children and the staff, there was always an abundance of warmth and support. The staff truly wanted what was best for the children and those kids taught me far more than I could ever teach them. Also, the grounds were absolutely stunning. I really enjoyed my time spent at St Basils and look back on it, often, with fond memories. I hope everyone is doing well.

This place is paradise on earth. The kindness I received as a child when I really needed it saved my life. I am so very thankful for St. Basil's staff. The scenery there reminds you who really is in charge, God. I recommend St. Basil's for all children who need God's Love and protection. Thank God for St. Basil's.

I was a student there in 1962-3 and I lived in the dormitory where the Yankee players would stay. I was unhappy there, yet when it came time for my sister and I to leave I felt sad and vulnerable. The fun times were West Point lighting fireworks for us, as they are right across the Hudson River.Another time I got picked to dance at the play the college girls put on . I got picked to dance. That made my time there passable.

For over 40 years this place has done what it can, sometimes with very limited resources to help raise the children in the Lord. The campus is beautiful, the location is great, and the view of West Point across the river is amazing.

I went to St. Basil's in my teens. There's a connection that cannot be explained. We became more than friends. We are family. St. Basil's was part of my destiny. It set the most important part of my path in my life. It is forever in my heart.

A beautifully stunning and gorgeous place. Even more beautiful than the property and buildings are the people that run the place and their mission of healing. They do incredible work here, a statement of what the Orthodox Church is all about.

I had went to St.Basil back in high school four years straight. My real reason to going back was because the first time I went met a beautiful smart young boy named Sammy and of course his brothers and friends, but Sammy was the youngest one there at the time and he touched my heart and although it's been three years that I haven't visited, seen or heard from him I truly miss him and think of him often. Hope you're doing well Sammy! Xoxo much love! -Irene ❤️
