This store will not return ANY OF MY EMAILS, except with the generic email they sent out after an April 23 or 24th storm. I placed an order and they withdrew my funds from my banking account April 17, 2023 and I can not get any response or tracking number or information even from shop pay / Shopify I had placed an order for Haba Little Friends dolls and I cannot get any response at all through email or phone calls. The owner Heather Thomas does not respond to my messages asking for a tracking number or a refund.

Ordered something on January 30, 2023 and still haven't received the items. It is now June 2, 2023. When you email them... they send an auto-reply about some storm damage they suffered and working on ways to send the items. There has been no genuine reply and I'm very discouraged that I'll ever receive my order. I do not recommend purchasing from this company. I'd appreciate genuine, honest reply to the status of my order.

I never received items ordered, even after reaching out and speaking with the owner. Heather may run a great in person shop, but she should not sell online if she can't process orders.As a person with limited monthly income, being scammed out of this small amount makes a difference. I trusted Heather when she said she was shipping my items after we spoke.Please be careful if you order items online from this retailer. I doubt I see the merchandise or my money returned.

Ordered on April 17th, but never received a confirmation order or tracking number. Tried contacting them through Instagram, Facebook, and their website and haven't heard back at all. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!!!

I truly hope things are going well for Heather and her family but I think she's been dealt a bad hand with the shop and should just close it. I found her website to be amazing and ordered a few neat things for my loved ones at the beginning of February for Valentine's Day. The shop is in NY and I am in CT. Plenty of shipping time. I never received the products, long story short, she suffered shop damage... flooding, more? Not sure. Issue me a refund. It's almost May and I have received a partial refund. I truly feel bad for her, she seemed lovely on the phone when we spoke two months ago and she issued me the first portion of my refund and created a shipping label for what she told me were my available items but my items never actually shipped. I would really just like my refund and if someday I find myself in Granville I will happily physically shop in her shop.

You won't receive your order. They won't respond to emails and their phone number is disconnected. Check Google reviews, same thing to hundreds of other customers.

Just ordered some discontinued Jellycat bears from The Gold Trout, they arrived at my place in Canada in less than a week. Definitely not a scam business as some have claimed.

The absolute worst costumer service I have ever experienced. I ordered a crib sheet from them two months ago for my babies new nursery. I’ve emailed them a half dozen times, as their phone lines are disconnected from a storm, with zero response. I’ve tried being as patient as possible but it is completely unacceptable to charge a customer for an item and still have not even shipped the item two months later. Now I need to dispute the charge with my credit card company which is time I do not have.

This has to be the most interesting and best curated little boutique shop I have ever encountered. Beautiful things, that are kind to the planet, and the people you buy for. You can tell the buyer for this shop knows their market and what is out there to fill the shop with. It is probably the only online shop that I use without fail regularly for birthdays, kids' parties, showers, weddings - AND my cart always ends up with stuff for me that I can't do without. Everything would make a beautiful thoughtful gift here, but I find when I shop I am picking things up for me too. I can feel better using these items because it is designed with less plastic waste and packaging. But I buy it because it is beautiful, wonderful quality, and useful. There was a brief time post-Covid when the physical shop had some shop disaster {roof leaking I heard} which might have coincided with those unsatisfied customer reviews, but from my dozens and dozens of purchases through this store online, and a few in person, I have only ever seen outstanding customer service and quality. Never once was I anything but tickled pink and thrilled at my purchase. The shop owner even delivered to my door during COVID lockdown. I try to get her to stop doing that because going to her physical shop is like the most epic candy shop, and I AM like a little kid when I visit it. Go look at TripAdvisor reviews, and you will see what I mean. This one is not to be missed, either in-person, or online.

I placed an order 12/10/22 which still has not shipped due to storm and flood issues. Just got a call from the owner explaining the situation which I really appreciate. Wishing the store well during a difficult time.

I ordered some stickers last year and got them in the mail no problem. In late November, I ordered stickers again and never received them. I called and emailed repeatedly and got no response (actually within the last week they removed their phone number so it's not possible to call them anymore). I think they are hoping people will forget they made a purchase and not contest the credit card charge. I liked my previous experience, so it's very strange that they just stopped being an actual business and became scammers. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS.

This is a great small business that provides quality products. I ordered an item shortly before Christmas and was concerned about whether or not it would be shipped in time. I called the store and spoke with the owner, Heather. She informed me that she would do her best to make sure it was shipped in time.Since the Gold Trout is a small locally owned business, I was curious how business was going. Heather explained that her shop had been flooded a couple of times and that she was trying to recover from that as well as meet the Christmas orders. It didn't help that that area of the country has several large storms lately.Because the Gold Trout is a small company, Heather wears many hats in the shop. This may have cause some slight delays in getting product shipped or even a missed phone call or two, resulting in some customers claiming The Gold Trout to be a "Scam" company. I took the time the and had the patience to contact Heather and her business is NOT A SCAM.The Gold Trout is a reliable small business trying to complete with the big box companies and fight Mother Nature at the same time. It's a small locally owned business that needs our continued support, especially during these trying times.
