Great service! **Edit** - Not, they insisted I give them a five star review to get the service for free (after the regional manager already promised it would be free). They damaged my new Enkei RPF1 wheels and they are refusing to take responsibility. I wouldn't recommend going to them unless you are ok with your property being damaged. Additionally: - My appointment time was at 8, but it took them till 11 to finish. -The cleaning crew showed up at ~10:30 and kicked everyone out of the waiting area while they cleaned, which caused an interruption as I was on a business call (2.5 hours past my appointment time). -The manager actually tried to squeeze me for money. First he asked what the regional manager quoted me for the work, I stated free, he then asked if I would pay $25 cause his guy needs to get paid, I then repeated that it should be free, at which point he said ok, if you give us a five star google review. I thought I was dealing with a professional business, but apparently not.

Had 4 tires replaced at Mavis Great Neck. Was told there was problem with front brake rotors, although brake pad was fine. Was advised replacement of front rotors and put new brake pads, which I did together with infusion of new brake fluids. Cost me additional $450. Dashboard instrument went haywire thereafter and said check essentially everything. Took it to dealer nearby who told me brake fluid was improperly infused thus alarms were set off. It cost me additional $180 to reflush brake fluid. If needed, just get tires replaced/fixed. Wouldn't recommend repair of any additional, non-tire-related problems

This place has to be shut down. It's Mavis in name only. I went there a couple of months ago for a leaky tire and they ended up selling me 4 tires and an entire brake job. It's on me that I went along with it, but I don't know cars and I didn't have time to go for a second opinion so I agreed to it. But that's not the worst part: The "customer service" people are all 20-somethings who are rude, arrogant and incapable of understanding a basic question. I returned yesterday to ask them how to release air from the tires if I over-inflate them when adding air. I've never had a problem with any other tires but I couldn't do it with these tires. There were three guys at the counter, all of whom kept insisting that my tires were not over-inflated, and they didn't understand why I was asking the question. I tried over and over to explain that I just wanted someone to show me what to do if I should over-inflate while adding air in the future. This went on for 15 minutes. No matter how I tried to rephrase the question they gave the same response-- there was nothing wrong with my tire-- while getting increasingly argumentative and patronizing. I felt as though I had entered the Twilight Zone. One of them finally seemed to grasp what I was asking. He told me if I needed to let air out I would have to use a special tool that they had in the shop, which made no sense. After about 15 minutes, an older mechanic who overheard what was going on took outside to my car and showed me how to deflate the tire, using my $5.00 air pressure gauge. Problem solved. It should be noted that there was no language barrier with any of these guys, so that wasn't the issue. Whatever the source of the problem, they should not be running a nationally-recognized tire store. They were arrogant, patronizing and totally inept. Between over-selling and rude, incompetent service, I will never go to Mavis again. Which is really a shame. I've been using them for tires ever since I got my first car. It's been over 40 years. It's time to move on.

About 20 minutes into a 5 hour drive, one of my tires decided to give up on me. I’m in the middle of nowhere, totally freaking out. As if by divine intervention I accidentally came across Mavis and they took me in right away and changed my two front tires. It was quick, reasonably priced and the staff were so supportive! What a great experience and I’m so grateful to have found this place! Thanks so much guys! I’m blown away by how efficient and helpful the people working there are. Made it back home safe and well thanks to you! Thank you Angelo and Thank you to this amazing team - will definitely come back soon.

I went to the Great Neck location to change my car battery during my lunch break, the employee named Justin told me I need new battery and new battery alternator, but I had to run back to work so I told him I will be back later, then Justin decided to charge me $160 for diagnosing my car!!! He also warned me: If I walked out there and my car dies, it is not their responsibility, my battery can die any second, and it is not on them! I felt so threaten as if they did something to my car, because my battery has been functioning fine, I am just doing preventive care for my car, how can it just die so fast? I was forced into changing a new battery there, with terrible customer service attitude, and the rest employees there were just watching TV....

My husband made an 8am appt 3 days ago for a NYS inspection. He showed up 7:45am & the whole place was closed. The door was still locked at 8:00 a.m. No one around. Finally a guy casually showed up around 8:25am. He slowly opened the doors & turned on lights. Now theres 5 people behind my husband. My husband mentioned his scheduled NY appt. at 8:00 am. The guy said our machine is broken why don't you go to another Mavis. My husband replied cause I don't have an appointment at another Mavis and i will have to stand there for 3 hours. The service has gone way down hill. The people that work there don't care about the customers and just show up for a paycheck. We will never go back to this location.

Absolute terrible experience here.I visited this location and spoke to a man at the desk and told him I wanted New tires, breaks, break fluid flush, Rotors, alignment, new tires balanced, Tire pressure sensors and valve stems. I was quoted a price of $2,700 and I told them to proceed with the work. I left my truck there at 10:30 am and was told to return at 1. I returned at 1 and I had to wait an additional 4.5 hours (5:30 pm) to receive my truck back. All this extra time with my truck you would think they did a good job, Yeah right. I first saw my truck up on the lift with the running boards being crushed by the lift because the mechanics must have been too lazy to put risers on them (as seen in picture). Little to my surprise- This was the least of my problems. I paid the $2,700 and went home. The next day I did an inspection on the truck to see the work they performed. My TPS light was still on in my truck and I found that none of the TPS sensors or valve stems were changed, I also inspected the break fluid reservoir and it was black- new break fluid is clear. I also found one missing lug nut and multiple others that were loose. This is a major safety issue. I also found my tires to shake and vibrate at high speeds so I took a look, and the tire weights for my old wheels were still on, as well as they were covered with my old break dust. Brand new tire weights are silver. I was also charged for an alignment, but after the new wheels were mounted on my truck, the truck was lowered and driven off for a “test drive”. There was no alignment ($159.99) or balancing ($79.99) performed on the truck. When I brought the truck back I got told “oh I guess the mechanics didn’t do the tire pressure sensors”, but they had no problem charging me the full $2,700 for the work that they “completed”. I have contacted the Better business bureau, my lawyer, as well as mavis customer service. If they did this to me, I worry about all the other customers who trust these thieves with your vehicles. Go to your local trusted mechanic even if it costs you a few dollars more.
