Shady salon that resorts to bullying and harassment. They drive all of their clients away by yelling at them on things that are their OWN mistake-especially the receptionist. And they treat their stylists like trash. Ask anyone in great neck and they will tell you the same thing. Stay far away from Ruby’s!

I had an amazing experience with Ruby! He did my hair color and highlights, and I’m honestly so impressed with the results. I had black hair, and he managed to lighten it beautifully without any damage. He paid close attention to every detail and made sure everything was perfect. The girl who helped with the washing and blow-drying were also so sweet and professional — they really made me feel taken care of. The salon has such a warm and welcoming vibe, and Ruby’s mom was incredibly kind and helpful too. I’m so happy I came here and will definitely recommend this place to everyone!

This salon has very rude customer service! I will not be going back there again, nor will I recommend to anyone. The owner (Ruby’s) sons who sit at the front desk are very rude. They do not attempt to say hello and always have a frown on their faces. They look away when you try to say hi or bye to them. It’s very disturbing. The hair stylists also do not say hi even when they see familiar faces. I took my daughter today for a haircut and one of the girls “Michelle” was so rude to say “Next time, come on time I have clients”. We were only 6-7 minutes late and I called to let them know that I was running late due to unexpected traffic. She did not have to say that to her because we had to wait 30 minutes anyways. Salon was not busy either. I regret taking my daughter there today! Also, they sound rude and unprofessional on the phone too! And yes, the owner (Ruby) is greedy. He watches and sees how you tip! Will be going to better salons nearby, so many options out there. But not to this one ever again!

This salon is just disturbing and a waste of time. Very dirty and the owners mother is very rude and demanding. I seriously don’t like coming here.

They tried to hide my review by posting a bunch of fake 5 star reviews right after I posted. Reuven or Ruby is highly greedy, I did not hesitate to proceed on the truth & share my experience with him and his business. The only reason I went to this salon to begin with is because of Daniel, and I truly hope one day she stops working for these people and either goes to another salon or open up her own salon. To get to the point- I went to this salon for a trim by Daniel, and at the end they told me it'll be $25 and I was going to leave a $7 tip for my small trim and wash. Reuven quickly gets aggravated when I said I don't have cash (I was unaware/ forgot this is a cash only place), which is fine because I offered to Venmo the salon. Reuven was extremely mad that I wanted to leave a 7 dollar tip and he said that I have to now pay the "Venmo percentage" and I MUST pay $18 extra on my trim. Please note that this review is not even about being forced to paying 18 dollars extra for my trim, it's about how he was yelling at me during this in the salon and being HIGHLY insistent and rude that "YOU MUST pay me $43 in total" after pulling out his calculator and holding it in my face. (No exaggeration whatsoever). He was very loud. Who treats their customers like this and yells at them over tipping? I wanted to at least send the tip via Venmo to Daniel but he yelled at me even more and said no. This is highly unprofessional behavior, my family and friends will never go to his salon.

I have been getting my haircuts here for many years by the owner Ruby. I can’t go anywhere else, because no one can ever cut my hair this well. It also helps that he’s the nicest guy too. Check this salon out. You won’t regret it!

Ruby the owner is so nice and welcoming at makes you feel right at home . His prices are very reasonable . The atmosphere is impressive and service is excellent.

BEST SALON hands down!!! I have been going to this salon for nearly fifteen years, (so do many of my friends and family members) and the owner Ruby is who does my hair. His haircuts, color, blow outs, and other services are all phenomenal, and he happens to be a very kind person who helps you in anyway he possibly can. It also helps that the prices of all his services are below every other salon in Great Neck. Thank you Ruby!

I’ve been going to Ruby’s for over a decade! Absolutely love Ruby’s work and I’m always get so many compliments on my hair! I highly recommend going to the salon and getting a haircut from Ruby.

Warning! This place is very shady. The owner is greedy charged me twice the price because he thought I was a new customer. Or maybe he decided to add his own tip. Either way I won’t come back and beware of how they conduct business there. Not honest…

I just called to cancel an appointment - a week and a half in advance - and the owner’s mom tells me “that isn’t nice” and hangs up on me…some of the stylists are good but the owners mom really has the worst attitude and some of the (less good) stylists demand more tip (despite poor service).
