I have never experienced such rude customer service. I am a student at LIU Post, a college in the area, and obviously I know that I am not the typical affluent customer an establishment like this is used to on a daily basis, but there is no excuse for the poor and snobby service I was given. I was looking for a particular Steve Madden sneaker yesterday, and when walking to Starbucks I noticed Jildor and thought I would stop in to see if they had the sneaker. When I found it, I made eye contact with the woman working there and she said "hi" but didn't ask if I needed help. I took it upon myself to say, "do you have these in an 8.5?" She said, "I can check..." with an attitude. Strike 1. When I tried the sneaker on and it was a little snug, I asked if she had a 9. She seemed annoyed that she had to go in the back and said very condescendingly, "it's a Steve Madden sneaker... you always have to go a size up. I assumed you knew that. We do have more comfortable styles like this but they're, you know, a different price point" how would I know that?! And she was obviously taking a dig at me implying that I couldn't afford the other brand of sneakers. It killed me to even give this place my business but I really wanted the sneakers and it was more convenient than going to the mall, but this lady was a real snob. Doesn't surprise me in this area AT ALL, but come on. Don't be so rude.
