Beautiful place! Didn't stay in a room, but used the pond out back a time or two during some fire department trainings! Great folk they are!

Thank you for such a great experience for so many years. Baumann's family and staff go above and beyond to cater to our family's needs and make every year comfortable and fun. My kids "would rather be at Baumanns than any place else". We love it! A special thanks to Rosemary who goes out of her way for us. Im especially grateful for her knowledge of dietary restrictions and making sure our sensitive gluten free diet needs are met, all week long. Thank You Rosemary!.....and Thank You Baumanns Brookside!

My family and I have been coming to Baumanns for over 20 years and it is the perfect place in the mountains to vacation. We go the same week every year and have made so many friends there that make the week even that much more enjoyable! It is the perfect place to disconnect from your daily life and reconnect with family and friends. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating for anything you need. From the food to the day and nighttime activities- they really cover everything. We certainly love Baumann’s and countdown the days to our vacation every August!

Four generations of family fun at Baumanns! This is a tradition our family looks forward to each summer. We’ve made many friends over the years here, as well. From the three meals a day, to activities, and live music at night we’ll always love Baumanns!

Family reunion, and Spring weekend spot for the last 45 years. We ALWAYS have a good time at Baumanns. Looking forward to going again at the end of August. Thanks to Courtney, Roe, Carol, and the rest of the Baumanns family and staff for all of the amazing memories!

We stayed here for our family vacation for the second year in a row. Despite the weather, we still had a great time. I think the most fun activities were the Trivia game, and the horse racing game.

In recent years we noticed that it seemed to be sliding in quality. We went one year and the paddle boats were not out because of weeds in small pond. Yoga was no longer. Nearby events like go carts closed and there was nothing replacing them. Crafts and events during rain??? Gone. My kids found a rat in the game room two summers ago, and I bring bleach wipes to wipe game room machines down first day we come each time --it's filthy every time. No exaggeration. The pool table was also filthy and stained. They had a kid running the games most years and they acted like typical bored teen. Yet we put up with it (should you need to on vacation?) to see the same people each year. Some who have also stopped coming. It feels very different than it was even 5, 10 years ago. Last summer there were a few very cold days and no one could use the pool because it was freezing. I called to ask what the temperature was this year and if would be heated. I was told "how would I know the pool temp.? When it gets below. certain temp the heater kicks on!" When I explained no one was in last year because it wasn't working right she answered, "No that's wrong!" My husband literally called me and showed me pics both days of no one in pool. Then she accused us of "complaining a lot" because I had asked about paddleboats and other amenities in the past. Sorry. I am not THAT person, but a customer is allowed to politely ask questions. It is not the kind of place with a ton to do--you go to see the people you're hanging out with, so if you love to boat and the lake is closed, yes, that's a big deal to some people. I would encourage you to go. See how the family treats you, especially Rosemary. Maybe it will be enough for you. Unless like most first timers who AREN'T going for a family reunion or with a large group (notice the reviews), you will be underwhelmed, maybe even frustrated. And there are ZERO attempts to include newbies or small groups like PLM and some places do- mingling game play participants etc. --we always invited them into our circle. If you have gone to Pine Lake Manor, right near by, that's more like Baumann's should/used to be. Or a place like Woodloch--more money? Yes! but they try really hard to make a nice time for you and don't berate you for asking about missing/changing amenities. Be sure NOT to ask for more than the minimum. You definitely get what you pay for with Baumann's. Also not surprised at their response to the other 1 star reviewer-Yikes!

It's been in business for 102 years. My family has been going for 31 years. Great people, food, & very reasonable. It's reminds me of a Dirty Dancing Resort. Need I say more.

Very quaint and cozy mountain resort. Very outdated and old fashioned, but has some fun activities for the family. Would love to see them update some of the rooms.Rooms: Old fashioned 70’s style rooms, dingy lighting and old showers. Ac works great.

The older family who built the place and clearly cared once, would be ashamed of how the younger ones have run it down and treat the public.

I used to come here as a child, and have returned after many years away. The food was excellent! We only stayed for a couple nights, and the highlights from meals were the meatballs, the coffee cake (my gawd...incredible), the porkchops, and the steak bbq buffet with so many options. I don't remember the food from the 90s but I'll remember the food now! And, our server Cali was very attentive and helpful! The "casino"/rec hall is still fun as ever (great band on Weds night!), and the snack bar has a variety of extremely well-priced drinks. Across the street, there's an idyllic pond with gorgeous weeping willows, and the pool on the hill is large and fun. A bunch of new outdoor seating near the casino was added, and they also had a big event tent in case of rain. Our family loves Baumann's and can't wait until next year!

After 20 years of attending this place every summer and fall for all their special weekends my family was kicked out because we were too "needy". Where is the loyalty? where is the compassion for older folks that need accommodations and where is the loyalty to long term guests/customers. With the place now being run by the daughter instead of the parents it doesn't have the same joyful vibe and experience. We are also one of the only families of color that continued to come back. As this place is more for white-Americans and doesn't really welcome many other cultures. Stay away if you're a family of color, it's not for you. Stay away if you're not into having people stare at you awkwardly for 3 days straight because you might look different from the rest of the crowd.

Have been going here for 24 years and would of course recommend. Everyone is family and the Baumanns family and Carol are always so sweet and remember you each year.Lots of activities run but also lots to do locally if you choose. We go for a week during the summer and Columbus Day weekend. Summer there’s tournaments shuffleboard, bocce, kanjam. Something to do if you’re 1-102.I will always love Baumanns!
