Remote was never programmed correctly to begin with. Needed service after sale because of adding a new TV. Nonexistent! I even called URC corporate and spoke with a VP. No help except loving to hear himself talk! I also filled out the "Find A Dealer" form on URC website. No response. This is a really bad product and bad company for a lot of money and zero support. Don't buy. There are better choices out there that won't cause you to be frustrated and waste your time. I'm taking my URC out back and using it for target practice. It's a POS.

Awful company. Once you spend thousands of dollars on their dumb equipment, you have to spend thousands more to have someone come out and "program" it. There are many other products that are easier to integrate out there.

Outdated thinking, tedious setup. Would have been really cool 20 years ago.

To the reviewer that left 1 star, URC is meant to be professionally programmed by a trained technician. They do this so their remotes will work as intended and flawlessly. The software is NOT available to the general public, only to authorized and trained professionals. Please do you're research prior to purchasing products. This is not URC's fault, but your own.

Received one of their remotes from a friend, tried to configure that remote in order to save it and make some use out of it. I learned that in order to configure that unit you need special software. The only way to get it is to email universalremote and ask for a software. I did they responded with a form requesting serial number and a reason. I have done everything they asked for and no response, no software no response to emails nothing. Very unprofessional behavior, no support for their old products. Highly disappointing.

I would never buy anything from this company based on my own experience and others as well. I bought the Genesis MX-900 remote and, within 6 months, the remote failed. I called customer service and they told me to send them the defective remote and they would fix it. I received the remote back telling me that they had "flashed" the remote. No program was on the remote. I called the company and they told me that would cost me an additional $150! This, after 6 months use! I threw it away as I should've the sales flyer when I decided to buy this piece of junk!

So we were sold these remotes by a professional audio company that installed our home entertainment system. They programmed them and all was well. Flash forward a year later and the cable box goes out. Cox swaps the box and the Genesis MX-900 remote needs to be reprogrammed. I went to their website for the instructions and the manual states it requires special software. I look for the download and nothing. I call their customer service and they tell me it has to be programmed by an authorized dealer. They refer me to one in my area and I call them. Much to my amazement, the cost to program this remote is $125.00. F-That. They don't trust the consumer to program a remote.

Never buy from this place. I sent in two brand new remote because the screen went black. They the charged me to send different remotes because the other remote was discontinue. I waited two weeks and found out that they sent me the wrong models. I open on of the remotes to see if its the same as my previous. The representative told me to ship it back and he will express the correct remote. After not hearing from them for two weeks, I called to inquire about my remotes. They said they will send me a refurbished one and a new one because I open one of the other remote, they called it an even exchange. Wow, they slapped me on the hand because it was there fault? I am never buying anything from this company again.

I recently sent back a defective remote control (MX-900) for repair directly to Universal Remote. The most used buttons on this particular remote give out after some usage and apparently from the company its a common problem. Universal Remote agreed to replace the buttons free of charge however after receiving the remote back I noticed that the remote was killing the battery after about 6 days. Thinking it was a battery issue and not a remote issue I purchased new batteries. When that didn't work I called UR and was told them about the problem. They stated it was a setting issue with the remote and instructed me to call my programer. The programer came out and was unable to connect with the remote. After troubleshooting it for some time he called UR directly however he was not able to connect with my remote. He then connected a same remote and was able to program it. I called UR several times and left messages about the issue and was ignored for sometime. When I finally was able to speak with someone I was told that my only option was to buy a new one. They claim they only changed the buttons. My remote was programable before I sent it out and was not killing the batteries after 6 days. I wasn't asking for a new remote, all I wanted was my remote to work as it did before even if the old buttons were put back. I would not recommend this remote or any other from UR solely based on their customer service.
