“An absolute gem hidden in the heart of Chauncy square. What makes this my go to liquor store is the knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness of the owners. They are always recommending bottles that seem adventurous to the palette but are worth taking the risk!! I learn something new each time I go in whether it be about the wine, vineyard, grape etc. Go check them out!! You won't be disappointed!”
“I have enjoyed buying wines from Daniel Posner/Grapes for 20+ years. While I definitely do not agree with all of his recommendations, his wine knowledge is encyclopedic; more importantly, his wine prices are very competitive. If you can survive his delusional writing about the Jets during football season and just pay attention to his deals, you will be as satisfied as I have been. Really should be 4.7 Stars but that's not an option.”

“Since moving to New York, Half Time has been my go to store for online and in person shopping. They have a great selection of local gems (Mortalis mixed packs and fresh Marlowe ?). Most things are available as singles for those that like to explore different styles. Prices are generally pretty reasonable based on the market and are often running promotions online. For those looking for variety, I would definitely recommend. Cheers!”

“i highly recommend giving this spot a visit. I went in confused and lost, but i left an enlightened man. laconia liquors got that juice. it has everything i needed to get on one and so much more. I saw whiskeys i had never seen before, wines and rums from the furthest corners of the globe, all with the convenience of being close by (and they deliver???). this is not only a community service, but a (spirit)ual one. Its run by a day 1 BX family, you couldn't support a more deserving local business.”

“this is my first visit to Gary’s. I loved the depth and breadth of their wine inventory. I really like South African wines and many wine shops either do not carry them at all, and if they do, have a very limited selection. Gary has a nice selection of South African wines as well as Italian wines, with the Italian wines featuring a lot of regions that most other wine shops do not. Kudos to Gary’s! Oh, and by the way, their wines are priced very fairly .”

“I rarely write up a review, but it is needed here. They offer such an amazing selection of wine producers with very difficult to come by vintages and they actively restock their collection. I have purchased here many many times, the condition of the bottles are always in such superb condition even considering the 20-30-40+ year old bottles. The customer service is always on point and their pick up turn around times are very reasonable, considering they have the store front and the collection is held in temperature controlled storage facility nearby. Truly a gem of a place and it will continue to be one of my go to's for particular wines to add to the cellar. Great place of business definitely one of the best and most reputable in the area that is for sure!”

“This is a great wine store, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They sometimes have tasting events in store where you can taste wines or bourbon and learn about different types of alcohol. The vibe is always welcoming and fun. The prices are fair and to be honest I mostly come here for Gershon's wine recommendations, he always hits the mark. The store would never be the same without him.”

“Specializing in Italian wines from all over the country, San Pietro provided an overwhelmingly positive experience to learn about wines for every region in Italy. They even have a few domestic wines to choose from. Lucia was so helpful and knowledgable providing insights into some rather fun, obscure wines. She was even gracious enough to provide change for the parking meter so we could talk longer! I'm planning to make a visit to San Pietro a part of my quarterly visits to Yonkers and the surrounding area!”

“Though the store does not carrry a huge inventory of wines, there is a bit of everything in the store. From old world, new world, to champagne and beer, cognac and whiskey and others, there's no way you can leave here empty-handed.Truthfully, the store runs through a gamut of prices to fit any budget. More importantly, on two different occassions, the staff is on point on providing excellent customer service. That makes me a fan! At wine ventures, there's a special bottle waiting for you.
