If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered a pod from Red Rover and it was delivered on time. Shortly before my mov I was notified that Red Rover was ceasing operations in Long Island and that the business was picked up by Pack rat. I was supposed to have my pod picked up and delivered to my new home on Thursday Nov 9. I had to ask my neighbors to move their cars in anticipation of the big truck coming. Thursday came and went. I was then told that it would be Monday. Monday came and went. I called and was told definitely Tuesday which was yesterday. No show again. How can this business operate? My belongings are in the giant box at another location and I have had to pay people to show up to empty the pod and there's no pod. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with the extreme lack of follow through. If the pod arrives will I have the same trouble getting it removed? I don't have a lot of space at the new house and I am going to need it gone quickly. I am just now seeing all the horror stories and I feel very frustrated. I did not select this company. They were awarded the Red Rover business. So I feel victimized twice. Will be leaving a bad review for Red Rover next.

This company has the worst customer service. They do not respond to phone calls. You could never get in touch with anybody. I would never recommend them.

I would not suggest using this company for any moving needs!!! Of course during the sales call the gentleman (Scott B) was so responsive and polite. Once I confirmed the container size, price and delivery dates this person was out of the picture. I had his email address but he just ignored me.The container was dropped off without the 1 hr call to confirm but luckily I was available. Getting it picked up was exhausting. I tried contacting company but was on hold for too long multiple times. Leave a call back number and it would take hours to hear from someone. Customer service once reached are extremely helpful and polite. They even felt bad for me and said I should talk to a supervisor. Ok, so I waited in their queue one night for 1 1/2 hrs and no one ever picked up or contacted me.Finally it was picked up days late (promised each day but they just don't show up) and was promised to arrive in time as we needed our belongings. As it was being delivered to a condo, the association needed an insurance certificate. Many calls and emails and no one would get this document. After pleading, Scott sends me the insurance document from a prior customer. Completely useless and never heard from again. If you press for Billing you get someone pretty quick. I would practically beg these people to help me but of course they put you back in the customer service queue.Guess what??? Dispatch called and said it was now going to be delayed. Then we needed same day pick up. Trying to schedule this was also very trying. Ok so the date is set for drop off and pickup. I get a call from the facility in FL that truck can't deliver to condo. They didn't want their truck getting stuck in this busy area. What???!Wouldn't this be discovered in the sales process? They wanted us to pick up our belongings at their facility 30 minutes away. We don't have a car or truck. Wanted me to rent a truck! After more phone calls, it was settled and delivery was made. Unbelievable!STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Do NOT use this company. From the beginning, they screwed up my order and delayed my short window to pack by 3 weeks, leaving me 3 days to pack my entire house. Then picking up was a nightmare, Then, having it delivered from storage to my new house was another 2 day fiasco.Confirmation emails are a joke. They confirm date, time, etc and then just don't show. After being confirmed for last Weds drop off, anytime during the day (though I requested later, as we didn't own the house till 4:30pm,) there was no show again. I called the extremely unhelpful, lazy sounding operator, she just said it isn't coming. No explanation, apologies and then said she will connect me with someone who could try to find a date we can get it. After waiting for 30 minutes, I hung up and called back. They were closed. After a very terse email later to them, a "supervisor" called to assure me it would be delivered between 3 and 6 the next day.NO surprise, it didn't come. I called to find out and it was over an hour wait, so another email (tip, if you decide to use them, seems email gets their attention) and I got an email with the local storage facility cc'd and asked 'if it was still a go'. I responded to both, it better be. Got back an email saying it will be there by 8:30. No apologies, reasons, anything. It finally showed. I only give it 1 star because my stuff was the way I left it.This company's processes fail each step of the way.P.S. I only used them because the PODS apparatus to drop off is wider than my narrow driveway. If this is the case (needs to be at least 14' wide) please, find someone, anyone else to do it. It is not worth the aggravation.P.P.S. - I do commend the drivers. Those guys know how to drive those things and are very nice. Sorry for them that they have to work for this company.

DO NOT USE PACK RAT.I set up a pick up and cross country delivery from Colorado on July 30 pick up and a August 14th drop off in NY state. I called on Aug 9th to check when my container would be delivered. I was told it was never picked up on July 30th and no one even tried to contact me. So the agent I spoke with said they tried to pick it up but didn't so it was still sitting at my old address blocking parking spaces. I said I understand these things happen and she said it would be delivered on Aug 22nd. On Monday August 14th I called in again and spoke with an agent named Chris so I could make sure that the delivery was on schedule and he said it wouldn't get there by the 22nd but it may get there on the 28th, who passed me onto Simone his supervisor. Who told me that August 22 was never going to happen. I said that was unacceptable as I started my new job on Aug 15. I told her I could make the August 22 date work, but Aug 28th was out of the question. Simone said all she could do is escalate it up to her supervisor. Aniya the other supervisor kindly called me back the same day and said there was nothing she could do, and offered me $200 for the late pick up. I asked to have the container to please be expedited since I was string my new job and needed my tools and clothing and she said no that it wasn't their fault and the best I could do is accept the $200.

Terrible experience. Came a day late - truck couldn’t drop pod. Now they are no show to pick up the pod for our 1500mile move delaying delivery.

Confirmed booking 2x, on date scheduled to arrive, it did not come. The company said "they didn't know what happened" and then put me on hold for 1 hour after I asked to speak to a manager. We wound up cancelling. HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE.

I came home to find one of their containers in my driveway. I never ordered one, nor did I contact this company for anything at all. Obviously, they delivered it to the wrong address. It took them over a week to remove the container. Absolutely absurd.

Totally Unreliable. Had a storage container booked well in advance. We reconfirmed the delivery the day before and morning of. They gave us a time window of 8am -10pm, and then after waiting all day we received an email with no explanation, changing the date to two days later. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. One of our family members had come back from Boston to help pack it- all for nothing. There was no number to call the local dispatch office directly, and we just had to deal the the 800 no., which was useless to us, and they could neither offer any help, explanation or solution. Read the other reviews that complain about what is clearly a pattern. We certainly wish we had. Quite pathetic !

Do not use 1-800-Pack Rat. One of the most poorly run incompetent companies out there. Hired them for a move from NC to NY. Paid $500 for expedited shipping, that never happened, the containers arrived a week late. Was told they would arrive after 9am, but no, they showed up at 6 am waking all my neighbors. The day they were to be picked up, they kept rescheduling my 4 hour pick up window. They never showed up at all, and were to be picked up the next day. I reached out and was told they would be getting picked up, and after hearing nothing for hours, I called back and was told it would be 2 more days to be picked up. The customer service reps are nice, but are useless. They email the distribution center and if you are lucky, they respond. Most times, they do not. The Hauppauge distribution center is horrible. I don’t know if they are lazy or just do not care. Additionally, get ready for all the excuses from broken down trucks(got that 2 times), to broken down fork lifts to no show drivers to staffing issues). This company just does not care. If Pods or other container companies cost more, just use them, especially in NY. On a positive note, the driver in NC, Verlander Jones was excellent. The other 2 drivers were lazy and left the containers in bad locations. Verlander rearranged those containers to make it easier to load. It’s sad, that only 1 employee takes pride in his work. What a horrible company.

Hauppauge PackRat facility is such a joke of a moving company. We scheduled a pod delivery a month ago, the day finally arrives for them to drop off the POD and the driver from this location simply doesn't show up. Timeframe for them to come was 8am-10pm so we waited at home all day for absolutely nothing. We called the useless PackRat 800 number multiple times to see where the driver from Hauppauge was. Wait times were so long. When they finally answer, their response "we'll send out an email to Hauppauge facility" This day and age it's unacceptable that us or the 800 number cannot contact the driver. In addition, they wouldn't give us the number to the hauppauge facility. On top of that, my husband drove all the way down from Upstate, took off work, and had friends help us all in preparation for the pod that never had any intentions of showing up. Why were we never notified? This is supposed to be a well-known company. They would not do anything to try to make it right; not even apologize to us. All the moving of boxes we did and centered our day around them coming was a complete waste of time and physically-exhausting. Never utilize their services again and neither will our friends and family who inquired about moving companies. Stay away from PackRat Hauppauge moving facility!

How do I leave negative review, no way to speak with a real person, paid extra for an AM delivery. Have a window of 8-12. No phone call no nothing. Unable to get in contact with any real person to give me any info, website is useless. What a terrible way to run a business.

On July 26th, 2022, one of their drivers picked up the empty containers from my property. During that time, they somehow ripped off an important cable wire from my house that is attached to the wires from the telephone line. This impacted my internet connection. They were apparently aware that they tore away the cable wire because they wrapped one around my next door neighbor's tree. The other wire that was attached to the house was left hanging and exposed. See photos.Furthermore, they failed to notify me that this occurred. If I had not found this before my young children (ages 1 and 6), this could have led to a serious injury.Needless to say, I am extremely dissatisfied with their services. Not only did they fail to comply with the schedule you agreed to on 3 out of the 4 pickup and delivery times, they caused noise disturbance my neighbors during a 4am delivery time _outside_ of the M-F timeframe, made us reschedule our movers on both ends, disrupted both me and my husband's work schedules (we both work from home) due to lack of internet services, and most of all, they put my family in danger.I have reached out to 1800PACKRAT regarding my concerns, provided them these pictures and more, filed a claim, etc. I have followed up multiple times. Aside from refunding a mere $50 for each time they were late they simply did not care to address any of my other grievances.I moved from California to New York, which is not a small move and not cheap. They are in the business of ensuring safe, dependable services for families and instead have left me scrambling, starting on the wrong foot with my neighbors, and putting my family in danger.Do not hire 1800PACKRAT for your move.

if I could give zero stars I would. this company is horrific. they will hold your stuff hostage until they decide they feel like delivering it. we've been rescheduled 4 times now with no end in sight. we moved across the country and have NOTHING in our new home. they're disgusting. liars and crooks, nothing more. don't go through the stress, pay more for a moving company because this business is the absolute WORST company I've ever had to deal with.
