Came in for a battery light they told me it was alternator belt 5 hours later we are still waiting. The staff is lazy inattentive and if i could i would dispute for my money back

Went to this place 1/18/2024 for alignment. Called before showing up. Show up and presented invoice for lifetime alignment purchase. Was told they could t do it because they could not find my information in the system. When u but lifetime you can go anywhere. Told me they couldn't charge the labor to the tech does the work. Called 800 pepboys; made a case. Told the advisor I would play for it as if I didn't have the lifetime purchase. He would not write up my service after bit of back and forth, finally was taken in. There was a pile of human poop by the sidewalk near entrance. Got a call back by Paul manager the next day. Explain everything apologized. Said would talk to his people. Still should not have to go thru this nonsense. The tech who did the alignment didn't provide the work results. Told me their printer was broken by manager when I spoke to him. Told him he should have his tech take a picture of the results to show customer. Pic of the service writer that gave me the hard time

Buyer beware! Their staff is not trained at all. Only use this facility if you service your beater car! If you have a more or less nice ride, then avoid this place like the plague! Stopped by to get new tires for my sedan and asked to install them. They just placed their lift arm pads anywhere under the belly of my car even though there were extremely well pronounced beams specifically for those lift pads in there! As a result, my rocker panels were warped and the paint was damaged. When I pointed that out I was told something along the lines of: "Oh, bruh, no problem, let me go get the hammer and beat them back in!" PepBoys ever again... NOT! Writing this paragraph on the next day in the morning. I am standing now right next to my car. I am supposed to be in Boston in four hours and I can see that one of the tires is a bit off. The gauge is showing 26 instead of 28. I purposefully made sure it was 28 right after rolling out of this facility. Now I have to go somewhere and deal with this stupid tire they sold me instead of a nice family time-off! This is as horrible as it could possibly be!

New Years eve we got there at 4:35, they close at 5:00. We were able to get a new tire put on our truck. That's great customer service! A hugh thank you as my husband needed the car for work the next day.

The service I received from Pep Boys was great. From the moment I called the day before and spoke to Solomon, one of the associates, I felt everything would be alright. I went in the next day to purchase a battery and fortunately Solomon was there and he took care of me and Tyrek completed my transaction. Within the time they stated, an hour and a half, I was out of there. Great team at Pep Boys on Peninsula.

Although the Hempstead facility is going through renovations, the team got me in and out quickly for an oil change - did it in the time frame they stated and were very good to work with. Nice job.

Why? One would ask. Paul is very hospitable however, $347 for a battery that costs the store $146 is ridiculous. My situation was emergent or I would've left that battery right there. As a funeral director I need my vehicle to move on demand and that wasn't happening for two days.Return there? I'd say never....not happening. Highway robbery is a word for sure; disrespectful.

Avoid this place at all costs. I went in to service my vehicle and they made the issue I went in for worse, broke and lost parts of my car which they disassembled in order to access areas for repair. They then claimed parts were never there and that there is a new issue that would cost me $3000 to address but the tech/mechanic informed me that they “had a guy” that could do it for a $1000 though. I spent $2500 on service and my car is worse than when it went in. The manager Paul offered no help and was unprofessional and condescending. They’ve given me the runaround and when I was told to bring the car in for follow-up inspection/fixing they damaged other things. Avoid this place because they will not even take minimal care of your car and will treat you as a customer worse. They seem and act professional prior to getting payment but after attaining payment they will blame you for everything and claim 0 liability. I’m seeking legal counsel to get reimbursed for the damages they caused.

Had the worst experience at this location. Solomon was very rude and unprofessional. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. He tried to charge me all this extra money. When I showed him the advertised pricing and what’s included directly from the Pep Boys website, and asked him to explain why he’s charging so much more… he told me I didn’t know what I was talking about and if I didn’t want the work done I should have taken my car somewhere else. Said he would cut me a deal under the table if I paid cash. He also said if you don’t like it, have fun complaining about me! And they didn’t even rotate my tires as promised! If I could rate the Hempstead location 0 stars, I would.

My service here was good and so was the representative. Solomon walked me through the entire process while working on my vehicle. Definitely appreciate him and his team service would recommend stopping by.
