I have been here also and noticed hardly no workers or help here. The sad part is Shop & Stop says it's hiring for all different jobs, but never calls people in to work. I applied to a few different locations and never heard anything back. There's people that want and need to work but their not getting called back from Shop & Stop. So who knows what's going on? It's sad.

This supermarket is walking distance from my house so I really want it to be great but it's not. The produce section and the coffee selection are probably the best parts of the market. The meat section doesn't not have much variety and they have very few organic options. The absolute worst thing about this market is that they rarely have enough registers open. They literally force everyone to go to self checkout. I think self checkout is a great option and should be available if people want to use it but the point of having it is for it to be a quicker alternative to standing in the standard line. If you don't have regular lanes open it becomes counterproductive and a huge inconvenience. They also don't have bags at each self checkout station so you have to walk to the exit of the self checkout to get a bag to pack your items and the whole flow of the interaction makes it less of a convenience and more of a nuisance.

Stop and shop in Hempstead long island has made a lot of Cosmetic changes, such as renovation of the store, pavement of the parking lot, ample stocks, and supplies of products, variety of fresh foods and cleanliness, of course with such major changes it will attract a variety of consumers, and with the diversity of consumers it attracts certain elements...more than once I was accosted at the entrance of Hempstead stop n shop by beggars and at time they have followed myself and others in the store, recently the beggars have become aggressive they are following people to their cars begging for money and as with me as soon as you park they walk up to your car aggressively begging for money...that was the day I decided I will no longer patronize the Hempstead stop n shop .... ..conclusion stop n shop in Hempstead need to address the harassing and aggressive behaviors being committed in the parking lot, its becoming dangerous.

I have shopped in this particular store for nearly 15 years. Why! Its local and I do not have a car and I hate paying taxis!!! Anyway, I have seen managers come and go, gotten to know many of the cashiers and workers. I have sent my share of complains to corporate whenever there was a problem, such as expired foods on the shelf, meat in the foods area, some people actually would go to the deli, order food, eat the food as they pretend to shop and leave the empty containers in the dry food shelves. I would call corporate and they corrected the problem Especially the expired food. When I reported the expired food and went back to the store the next day I saw workers pulling loads of food off the shelves!! That was about five years ago. Since then, they have revamped, redesigned the entire store. The store was looking pretty good, I even got to know the yet again NEW manger Charlie. got to know, security, even the lady police officer in the store. The store was new, bright, clean, pleasant, the workers appeared happy, always helpful, the place was a welcoming place to shop in. Customer service was top notch! and it was buzzing with pleasantness. Finally a good shopping experience to look forward to. THAT DID NOT LAST LONG. On March 22nd afternoon, I went to the store this time with my return bottles. I usually buy poland spring water and am charged for the bottles so I return them to get my money back. The bottle room was filthy! dirty wet floors, machines broken, garbage everywhere! Okay, finished with the bottle room, went into the store to do my shopping. Immediately I noticed that the atmosphere had changed. The store had few customers in it at this time. Some of the items I was looking for was not on the shelf. I saw few employees walking around the store. In fact, I saw new faces. When it was time to check out there is one line from which a employee would call you to direct you to a cashier, there was no employee calling customers to direct them to cashiers. There was the self check out clerk which they only take self check out from a entirely different line. I was on the regular line and alone. I noted one cashier that was open in the entire store (aside from the check out line) I could see the customer she has was packed up and about to leave so I went to the line. The cashier became irate and condescending staying that I have to go back in the aisle until I am called. I said to her, there is no one calling for the lines and I am the only one on line. She then said, well you have to stay 6 feet apart! I was more then 6 feet apart. A female who said she was the manger of which she was not, (she worked behind the customer service counter) came over and said Miss, it is the law, you have to stay 6 feet apart, (at this time I was the only one on line) we argued the point back and forth and to end the problem I went back to the aisle I was in. A customer with few items was behind me and the self check person called her out of the line to the self check counter. (new) Anyway, I was called next to again an empty register. As my items were being checked out a white male placed his items on the counter and there was not one word spoken to him about being six feel apart or getting back to the aisle. I said to the cashier, oh its not a problem for him to be on the line and not six feel apart. The man decided to go to the self check line, meanwhile, I paid for my items, I was not offered a bag, and as I was packing my grocery, the cashier called another customer to the counter and began checking her grocery which was now mixing with my grocery on the counter. I pushed the groceries back several times to keep them from mixing with mine. I then told the clerk this is why your a cashier, you have problems, she then said that I was old and that I had nothing better to do with my day but come in here with a problem....I took my time packing my grocery.. While this stupid clerk muttered insults at me. I then said to her, corporate is going to hear your name today I packed my grocery and went directly to the manger, as I began complai

This Stop & Shop is becoming worse and worse everyday. I've been using their pharmacy for over 10 years and recently visited there pharmacy to find myself dealing with the most undesirable person I have encountered in any place of business. I said good afternoon and she rolls her eyes at me, continues to roll her eyes throughout our very cold and brief interaction. I ended with have a good day and get a mmhmm. I would usually deal with the same people however in the recent months they have two different females (not phawork the counter that need to stay home and just not interact with the public. No class, no people skills, and are passing judgment based on what they see. Thank you for reaching out to me regaña review. I appreciate the attention you have given and the concern you have expressed regarding the interactions we encountered.

There are quite a lot of negative reviews however, I frequent this location because it's my neighborhood store. I will admit it's not the cleanest, newly renovated or organized however, it gets the job done. They always have prepackaged chicken wings and cupcakes if you have an event to go to. Their cupcakes are moist and my daughter's favorite. I recently purchased a medium fruit platter for $8.99 for my daughter's bday. The cupcakes are really good and they decorate them so cute and colorful for kids. If you have a last minute event it's great ! They always run deals and that's always great when you get to the register and are counting coins. Recently I purchased some fresh seedless watermelons for $3.88 that were also a great addition to the party. They run a great deal on 88 cent avocados from time to time. I will only eat their avocados. The Self Check Out moves quickly and the staff is great.

I see a lot of negative reviews that go back a ways. Truth be told, two years ago I routinely went out of my way to the West Hempstead location because I found this one a disaster. No more. Big turnaround. I think the store was in danger of closing, and a big effort was made to turn things around. This is a fine location now, plenty of staff on hand and they're consistently friendly and helpful. Always a couple workers at the self checkouts to keep things moving. Store is clean and well stocked. Seems to be an adequate number of checkout lanes manned, which of course varies by time of day. There's a big parking lot with several ways in and out. If you've passed this store by, give it another try and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Well i love this stop an shop. Its huge they always have plenty of stuff in stock employees help you and are friendly. This is a store where employees actually care about there customers and remember who they are. I have never had a problem at this store. Wish i still lived in the area i go to the franklin square store now because its close to my house no one cares no ones friendly they dont help you and people in the store are really rude.
