Pretty good ice cream, but highlight was being able to mix two flavors on a “single” cone.

Went about a week ago and the ice cream was not nearly as good as I remember it under Mr. Reads management. It was also stupid pricey for a kiddie and a small. Sad to see what was an amazing ice cream shop go downhill. Too bad the new owners are money hungry and clearly just suck. The young boy who took our order was very polite tho, no complaints about him.

Went here over the summer with my father and they have gone down hill since the owners sold this business. We waited in line for a good half hour and my father and I orded two simple vanilla cones and the kid had to keep coming back to ask us what we ordered. My father and I ordered the same exact thing and his cone was smaller than mine and I felt bad. We also paid almost 18 dollars for two cones. Customer service is lacking and we miss the old mom and pop feel. It seems like the new owners aren't concerned about the customer experience, they are more looking to make the most buck. I'd rather go to Brusters, but since they have closed we go to the one in Webster.

New ownership but they're working hard to be as good as the original owners. Great prices and friendly staff.

Absolutely terrible and overpriced. I asked for coffee chocolate and it tasted like straight up water. No coffee flavor whatsoever. Don't go.

This is the first time i was able to try Read's Ice Cream. It was excellent. The first time I visit a new ice cream shop, I always try chocolate or sometimes vanilla. These are two flavors that are hard to get right and if they are not filled with a lot of other stuff, then the flavor of the ice cream has to stand alone. Read's Chocolate did not disappoint. Rich, creamy, and delicious. Well worth a trip.

I ordered an ice cream cake for my sons 5th birthday party. I was nervous how it would turn out because the boy whom I spoke with on the phone didn’t seem very knowledgeable about their ice cream cakes and the website would not allow me to order online. The website said their ice cream cake came with one layer each of chocolate and vanilla separated by a cookie crumb layer. It said you could add additional things like sprinkles and fruit layers. I ordered it with a strawberry fruit layer, sprinkles and crushed cone along the border. Well, I was majorly disappointed that there was NO cookie crumb layer and no crushed cone along the border! BUT, it ended up still being delicious! The strawberry fruit layer was AMAZING! It had so many actual strawberries in it! The ice cream was so creamy and delicious! I just think they need to pay attention to details. The order form clearly said crushed cone, and the fruit layer should have been in addition to the cookie crumb layer, not a replacement. It gets 4 stars though because it was delicious! Everybody loved it, even the adults!

Stopped here on a weekday afternoon to get ice cream for the family. They make their own ice cream and the chips in the mint chocolate chip were huge. The chocolate ice cream had a deep and rich chocolate flavor. Additionally, they do have soft serve and ices to about 15-20 hard ice cream flavors. The inside is closed due to Covid and you can either order online or order on the side of the building via a walk up window. Ice cream is reasonably priced. Located about a five minute drive east of the I-390 Henrietta Rd exit.

Service was prompt and friendly. Not necessarily accurate. I had to ask for my order to be corrected. She handed us one napkin, already crunched yo in her hand. By the time she took our cash and returned only the receipt and no change, I gave up with questions.

I've been to Read's many times and always enjoyed it. Since they reopened, it's like they just walked into the building just before myself for the first time ever. They don't write your order down so they repeatedly ask you for what and how you want your ice-cream and they still get it wrong. They are overpriced and thieves. I am pretty certain 2 sundaes with 1 extra topping do not cost $9.00 each, yet that's what I was charged. The amount of ice-cream is ridiculous and inconsistent, in a bad way. Their scoops were about golf ball size on the last trip. There's more bad that I encountered but if you want to go after reading this, nothing else will change your mind. Enjoy!

DownhillSince the new owners have moved in, this ice creamery has gone downhill. Two "medium" ice creams cost a whopping $10.26! They did not know how to make a banana split (apparently you can make one with any flavor!). Strawberry (one of the big three in terms of ice cream flavors) wasn't even available. The adult (who I suspect was the new owner) made us feel rushed when we asked questions about their ice cream selections and was not welcoming at all. Cons: Under trained employees, expensive ice cream and terrible service. If I had 4 hands, I'd give it 4 thumbs down!

New ownership. He has big plans and I cant wait to see it. I was already impressed with his chocolate orange flavor, very unique which I haven't tasted anywhere else. So this being in place already before he even started his big plans, cant wait! After tasting the unique icecream he had, he IS going to be "THE" icecream store to visit. Mark my words!
