Never had a bad experience with USPS until I met these people. I can deal with incompetent, I can deal with malicious. How can you be both?

Frank is an absolute asset to Highland and the U.S. Postal Service!! Above and beyond would be an understatement regarding his efforts. He makes me proud of the USPS!

Why is this post office always broken? I get totally screwed every time I try and go there. They have no Internet like every day. It's so often they have professional signs made up staying they can't do transactions due to no Internet. Hey postmaster general spend less money on signs and fix your house. No offense but you suck at your job!

I had the same delivery driver for over 24 years, Ray, before he retired in 2018. We never had any problems with Ray or his excellent service. These past few years we’ve had all sorts of various delivery USPS staff delivering the mail. They refuse to drive up the driveway to our home, and instead leave all of our packages at the end of the driveway no matter what the weather conditions are. We’ve had packages get soaked from the rain that were just left at the end of the driveway during rain storms, unprotected. When I called to discuss the matter with the supervisor, Marquis, he said his staff are not permitted to drive up to a house unless there’s a circular driveway because delivery personnel are not permitted to put the vehicle in reverse in order to leave a driveway! What? That’s absurd!Imagine how inefficient it would be if UPS, DHL, FedEx and Amazon didn’t permit their drivers to access a residence via the driveway with their vehicles because they might have to put the truck/van in reverse to exit? That’s the government for you — completely nonsensical! !

Recently, I sent my niece a little gift in a padded envelope. It weighed under a pound, so I used first class mail to send it to her. I mailed it in person, right from the clerk's window at this Highland P.O.Well, my niece said she never received it, even though it was going just across the river to Dutchess County. Two weeks later, much to my surprise and disappointment, it appears in my mailbox! The typed delivery label is torn off, even though it was securely taped to the package with plenty of packing tape. So, I bring it back to the Highland P.O. and showed the clerk, a white female with blonde hair. While she was nice and apologized, she said they cannot refund my money since "they have no way of verifying that the label was securely adhered to the package." !! I said of course it was, because your clerk would have mentioned there was an issue when I first presented it for mailing 2 weeks ago. But again she said in a nutshell that I was out the $5.80 that I paid the first time to mail it, and I ended up having to pay all over again to have it resent. What a scam!

Not sure why all the negative reviews; I've generally had a pleasant experience here and have found the staff overall to be kind and helpful. If you're not happy with the USPS in general, that's one thing. But the people who work here have made this feel like a small town post office and it's been nice to see many of the same staff members through the ups and downs of the past 6 years or so. Always happy to take care of business at my local post office!

This is my local post office and when your bank who you deal with on a daily basis wants to charge you $10 for a bank check the Post Office charges you a dollar and a quarter / money order it's absolutely ridiculous that banks have to charge that much but thank you Highland post office for coming to the rescue

worst service ever. people are rude. always have excuse as to why we don't get our mail, even though informed mail shows it, I understand it isn't necessarily coming that day, but a week later I still haven't received it l

I rate this post office in highland and Milton 1 star do to my experience since I moved from city year ago. My online business generates 20-30 packages daily which I notice when my package get to any of these little town post office was issue of scanning each one isn’t that usps job? So they recommended me to start scan sheet so they don’t have to scan each package they scan 1 paper barcode on sheet for all packages I did that and noticed new problem. Now Kim from highland is returning packages with sticky note pointing out postage due we take same package to other post office with same label they except and deliver. According to usps supervisor handling case said that is why usps has postage due in place Kim not supposed to do that with package. We wish they would cycle these worker at Milton and highland post office to other post office give good worker chance to make community post office better experience. Neighbors warned me about Milton post office worker attitude which I did not believe till she came back from vacation then I new this was lady they was talking about was last time there and now I won’t take any of my packages to highland either.

This post office is one of the best ones in our area. The wait is usually significantly shorter, the lobby is clean, and the workers are pleasant and friendly.

On May 25,2021 I had a time sensative letter that came with a prepaid envelope, I walked into Highland post office concerned I might need postage on it? The blonde girl with long hair assured me it got paid on the other end...My letter was RETURNED to me in mail! After she took it herself!
