Filled out inquiries and applications for 2 beautiful beagles. Waited over 2 weeks only for the staff to ruin my family vacation to make me feel guilty for going knowing the 2 beagles were coming from other shelter. Our vacation was a celebration of life for my Sister. Home visit came and I was treated so disrespectfully because my home wasn’t a palace. My husband and grown sons have raised from rescues 2 blue tick beagles over the course of 25 years. Gave them both the best home and lives! My husband is a USMC veteran and I am a cancer survivor. We are absolutely devastated that we were denied after a 20 minute virual home visit! Shame on Blue Moon Meadow Rescue!!!!

No response at all. Clearly they dont care about animals or people as much as you'd hope. Took a loan out to help a random stray because the rescues around here are trash.

I visited Blue Moon Meadow's for a meet & greet with Grit, what an amazing experience. The dogs were so well cared for and I never felt rushed when getting aquainted with Grit. Newest UPDATE: I just received a check in the mailbox for reimbursement on Mack's Lyme Disease medication. Thank you we appreciate you keeping your word.
UPDATE: We took Mack to the vet for his wellness check and found out that he has hookworm and LYME DISEASE. I contacted the rescue to let them know the results. After spending $450 for the adoption fee $200 to register the microchip and now $300 at the vet. The rescue said that they would reimburse for the LYME meds
I gave them the total of $100 and I never received another email or payment. We will continue to love Mack and make sure he gets whatever treatment he needs. I'm upset with this rescue and I won't be adopting from them anymore. I hope they checked the other dogs to make sure they don't have it and not receive treatment.We had a great experience with this rescue. We just adopted Mack and the process was wonderful. This rescue really cares about the dogs. I look forward to watching Mack grow up and create a bond with us. We received all his vet records, food for the transition and a harness. Dee and her husband were very responsive, polite and caring. Thank you for allowing us to add Mack to our family. He's going to be spoiled and loved.

I was interested in a dog so I emailed them, filled out an application, then left a voicemail. It's been a week and I've heard NOTHING. It's sad because these animals need good homes & their communication is terrible. Good Luck!!

I just adopted a handsome 7 month old lab mix from blue moon and they where so helpful throughout the whole process! Dee set me up with my new companion with in a week! Dee was so communicative and helped me with any questions I had. Kate came and did a home visit and was super helpful and so polite! He’s just settling into his new home and is doing great! I highly recommend blue moon! Thanks again guys!!!

We are experienced dog owners feeling frustrated trying to find the right rescue dog again and we appreciated the professional experience of Dee who recognized a good fit and helped us go home with our precious pup, Tilly. We couldn't be happier!

We were searching desperately for a beagle dog in the Norwich NY area and there were none to be found. We heard of Blue Moon Meadows and drove to Rochester to see "Addie". We were so pleased when we got there and saw her, we had completed the requirements and they had checked already with our vet and we were able to bring her home that day. The people who ran this rescue were so very polite, and gave us time to meet with Addie now named Katey. We adopted her November of 2020 and she is our love. So disappointed and saddened by my experience with Blue Moon Meadows. After filling out an application 10/8(no confirmation email), waiting a few days as they stated to give them 48 hours, following up via email 10/10 just to see if my application was received(no response), filled out a second app just in case then called 10/12 left a voicemail. Still to this day 10/16 haven't gotten so much as an acknowledgement. Just went on the site and the dog I was interested in is no longer listed. Maybe I should have taken a hint? Or maybe the business can be a little more transparent? It's unfortunate but judging by the other reviews I'm not the only one I guess.

We went to see a dog and advised BlueMoon we wanted to adopt - were advised our background had to be checked. Background checked out fine - they just needed to do a home check. Due to a scheduling conflict with BlueMoon, were unable to schedule for a week and they ended up giving the dog to someone else – and informed us of this with a curt email that indicated they gave the dog to someone else – no “sorry”, no apologies. It was heartbreaking. To make matters much worse, we passed on another dog earlier that week who needed us because we had committed to BlueMoon.

Awful experience. Let me sum it up for everyone....BlueMoon is 100% in this for the money.We were the first applicant, the first to visit our pup of interest. All references were checked including current vet, current groomer, etc....all passed with flying colors.Perfect, large home (indoor dog)We were reassured numerous times we had first opportunity on him. All that was left was the home visit which was scheduled. (2 days after first meet and greet)3 hours before the home visit, Dee (owner) contacts us to tell us she adopted him to someone else.DO NOT BUY / ADOPT FROM BLUEMOON MEADOWS!!!- shame on me for not looking at their reviews on Google or FB prior to engaging with them. Ultimately, it looks like we dodged a bullet as they aren't reputable.Save yourself time and look elsewhere.

i now have 2 dogs from blue moon, who i both love. we got our first one in 2016 and our second one in 2020. Dee, the owner, is absolutely amazing and always makes sure the home is right for the dog and the dog is right for the home, which sadly not all shelters do. she cares for the dogs really well and makes sure they have everything they need. all of the many people i know who have adopted from here love Blue Moon and their pets. I highly recommend donating or volunteering so that Blue Moon can continue to help many dogs!
