I hated my experience at Hoosac, where I was a Deaf student for two years and faced struggles. Despite speaking about my Deafness at Friday night dinner, I wasn't recognized as student of the week; instead, a student whose parents donated got the award. I never received recognition for my efforts. Speaking about growing up Deaf took courage, especially with cruel kids. Father Clemens' beard made lip-reading impossible, I asked if he could trim around the lips and he refused. I couldn't get tutoring from him. I failed his Ethics course as a result, but Principal Lomuscio allowed me to graduate because he knew the "priest" was a jerk. All seniors are expected to pass all courses to graduate. I advocated for closed captions on movie nights. My peers wanted it off instead. Post-graduation, donation requests go straight to my garbage. The school overlooks achievements, lacks a psychologist, and I attempted suicide twice. I was not the only one who attempted during my time there. I'm grateful to have survived; Hoosac is not recommended!

My husband and I are very keen not to let time pass between graduation and the arrival of our words of thanks. The organization for this event was perfect, we really enjoyed the mass last night in the church with the emotional lighting of the candles on the lawn at sunset. The smell of incense and the music inside the church was a perfect atmosphere. We also thank you very much for the dinner, the parade and the whole celebration of the sports and academic awards. Enhancing the passions and excellent behavior of kids is the reason why we believed in our choice of your school.
My son spent a memorable year, where he was welcomed by teachers and students in an exemplary manner, the friendships they formed between them were exciting, today seeing so many kids moved as they said goodbye made us very emotional. We are very grateful to all of you, in particular to the great Virginia who was able to support Simone in his tennis experiences, always giving him the opportunity to move forward. We thank all the professors with esteem and affection, my son has always spoken very highly of each of them. We were happy to have decided to be present at this beautiful final event, we recommend it to all parents if they had the opportunity to do so. Today we had confirmation that our choice, which was not easy in any case, was the right one. We thank you very much again and ask you to convey our heartfelt thanks to all the teachers and team coaches of all sports.
We have our eldest daughter who finished high school two years ago, the final exam is very hard but nothing remains for the kids from that day except anxiety and fear... and liberation. What remains here with these beautiful traditions goes beyond in-depth study, you can breathe deep emotions and feelings!
Thanks a lot

I would highly recommend Hoosac as the staff and their dedication to the students are exceptional. Each staff member is truly vested in every student and will go above and beyond to help them succeed. The day-to-day life experiences that the school teaches is priceless. The growth and development instilled through day-to-day to life experiences will most definitely play a significant part in the success of each student who attends Hoosac. Students go in as young adults and come out as confident, successful members of society.
The grounds are beautiful, and the older buildings compliment the grounds creating unique charm. No doubt, being an older school there are some repairs and upgrades that are needed however it is evident the school is consistently working on improvement. The older buildings not only make the school charming, but it also helps to keep the students humble. I feel that this is a very important part of the experience as being humble helps define true character and often gets lost in a lot of other prep schools.
I can honestly say that my son has come out a much more well-rounded, conscientious individual. He has also created a diverse variety of friendships that will last a lifetime. I could not be more pleased or proud to say he was a Hoosac student.

An amazing place for kids to grow and learn. My three sons are graduates and all look back fondly on their Hoosac experience. Arts, athletics, clubs and tradition are all available at Hoosac. Hoosac strives to be a better version of itself every year. This is easy to see in recent campus facility upgrades and entirely new construction of buildings and athletic facilities and fields. If you're considering a small to mid sized private school experience give Hoosac a look! Go Owls!

We are delighted that our daughter attends Hoosac School. The environment is incredibly welcoming, and the academic standards are excellent. The accommodations are charming, reminiscent of a fairy tale. The dedication of the teachers to their students is commendable. The academic programs maintain a high level of quality. The leadership is both present and attentive. The sense of community among the students is strong.
Furthermore, it’s fantastic that the girls’ basketball team has the renowned and highly competent coach, Julie McBride.
Overall, Hoosac School provides an exceptional educational experience, and we couldn’t be happier with our daughter’s time there.

Look into the "educator's" backgrounds. I lived on campus for a school year. My family couldn't get out of there fast enough. You couldn't pay me to send my children there. This is the worst school I have ever witnessed, no matter how low you think the bar is set, it can get lowered. When I was there, none of the buildings ever locked, even at night because "we trust our students". There is zero security at this "school." For a liability reasons I'll just say in my opinion let's just say everybody passes as long as they pay their bills, especially if they're a really good athlete.

My son was accepted at 14 in the varsity hockey team from Montreal Quebec. We couldn't be happier to have made the difficult decision to let him go. From the interview process, meetings the amazing staff/teachers, and walking through the spectacular grounds, I only have positive things to say.The diverse subjects they are teaching will certainly opens door and minds to become the best versions of themselves and help them choose the right life path for them. The support they receive tis simply amazing.Hockey wise, it is most definitely some of the best hockey I have seen played. With a century long history, traditions are at the heart of their mission and I love that they instill these in my child.I can honestly say my son has found a new family amongst friends, teammates and the wonderful staff. Thanks a million Hoosac!
