We frequently visit Talbott and Arding since it opened, and we've greatly enjoyed our experiences at the store. However, during our last two recent visits, we've encountered the challenges with the demeanor of one particular staff member at the daily food sessions. While it's not necessarily what was she said, there seemed to be a lack of warmth and rudeness that contrasted with our previous experiences. It's worth noting that in other areas of the store, the staff have consistently been friendly and supportive. We appreciate the overall atmosphere of the store and hope that our feedback can help to an even more positive experience in the future.

We stopped here on our driving trip to upstate NY and Mass last fall. We found it by accident as we were walking from our hotel to the Main Street.
We first had coffee. - very good.
Then we had sandwiches which were delicious.
Then we had a desert - Fruit and Nut Loaf- which was incredibly expensive but very delicious. Glad we had it but would probably not order it again because of $$.
Very relaxing place with prepared foods ass well as lots of bakery goods.

First off, I’ll just preface and say that my review comes after visiting two times on the same day, 12/31. It was my first time visiting Hudson and it won’t be my last because I already can’t wait to come back.
We stopped in on our way to the antique warehouse and after already having a small breakfast, we could not resist getting a few pastries to snack on. Unfortunately I did not get pictures of these but that is only because they were simply gone too quickly. We had a sausage roll and a puff pastry with leeks, goat cheese, and potato. Both absolutely fantastic.
After doing a quick scan of the store, we were instantly entranced by the delicious prepared foods and plethora of wonderful goods and ingredients they had. We decided we wanted to get both our lunch and then things to make our New Year’s Eve dinner from here.
After the warehouse we came back and we picked up a muffaletta, a cauliflower and cheddar cheese panino, and a few of the smoked trout deviled eggs for lunch as well as things to make dinner.
The lunch foods were outstanding. Unexpectedly, the panino ended up being my favorite. The combination of cheddar with romesco was SO good. The fresh baked focaccia is simply the best. Best pre-prepared sandwich I have ever had.
For dinner, we cooked a really memorable, albeit simple meal with a small fraction of all of the wonderful ingredients this store has to offer. We made a radicchio and endive salad topped with caramelized pears, bread crumbs, shaved pecorino, and a mustard vinaigrette. For our main we cooked a delicious pasta with guanciale in a creamy red sauce (made creamy by crème fraiche 😍).
Stumbling upon this store was certainly a treat for us. It is pricy, but for fresh and delicious meals it is worth it. Also, I just want to note that the store was crowded with folks trying to get last minute things for NYE, and the staff was not only well prepared, they were so friendly and sweet.
We can’t wait to come back!!!

Best in the business. Been frequenting since 2020, and excited to try their catering for the first time this New Year’s Eve. I see a lot of comments mentioning that it’s pricy but the quality makes it worth every penny. Will update after trying the catering but will say the price is right for that. We’re having a party of 15 and feeding them for $400. That’s not bad at all!

Great go to for a quick lunch or something fancy to stock your pantry. Love their prepared foods as well as their stock of sweet treats and cheese. Always end up buying more than intended!

Great spot to grab some snacks, lunch or food for later! Everything is always delicious! It’s a little expensive but worth it for a special occasion or a treat-yourself day.

If you like waiting and mediocre service this is the store for you! I used to like this place but it has increasingly become a pain to shop here. The kitchen always seems full, but the store staffing seems to be inadequate (perhaps on purpose) I just went to buy some food from the counter and the lady behind it was helping two gentleman shopping, they saw me waiting and I waited for them to complete these customers orders, the staff then passes me up and helps a lady who has just walked up. (The customer knew she was cutting in line as she looked over at me acknowledging she had cut, but didn’t care) the staff didn’t seem to care either. Not the first time I have waited in this place and it’s a bit of a turnoff to customers. If you are going to charge more premium prices for food product, perhaps consider having better service, just a thought. Am I annoyed? Yes. Will I spend my money elsewhere next time? Probably. Judging by the other reviews I have read it appears I am not alone in feeling that the staffing is not adequate.

I cannot say enough about the catering at Talbott & Arding. Through a series of unfortunate events, I found myself in quite a bind, hosting a very important 2-day meeting without catering. Not only did Talbott & Arding take on the last minute job, but they blew it out of the park. The food was incredible. More than that, it was thoughtful and never felt pulled together last minute or rushed. Ryan and team were amazing to work with, and handled everything with grace and humor. I would recommend them without reservation for any job- big or small.

hostile, no child friendly cart, fully masked staff (can’t understand anything they say), prefer other store with more premium products and better service (yes, even for hudson)

Poor store. Not much to buy to eat. At the register, the lady didn't ask me if I need a bag so I had to ask myself.

Prepared case advertised as opening at 10am yet if you go at this time there is almost nothing available. Wanted to pick up some items for lunch for later in the day but my only options were a premade baguette sandwich and some marinated peppers, olives. Nothing short of a small army of people working, would expect to have better service as a result.

I have very mixed feelings about the new and bigger T&A. I find that I always need to look at sell by dates before purchasing their prepared items. I have often bought chicken salad or tuna salad that tastes sour. They sell week old prepared foods on Saturday. It is disappointing that I need to be a vigilent shopper and can't just explicitly trust that their food is fresh.
