“I've said it before and I'll say it again. #petesauto in Hunter, NY Is an exemplary mechanic. He has always treated us fairly and done great work but today he surpassed himself. On a busy morning he took time out to put my wife's car up on the lift and give it a thorough once over before she drove to the city as she was worrried about a noise she heard in the front end. Pete gave it a clean bill of health and sent me on my way with no charge!Great work and thanks Pete!”

“Oil level sensor went bad causing a false low oil light and corresponding overfilling of the oil on my Audi. 3 hours from my shop but I found this cool old school repair shop and super nice gentlemen to help set it straight. Thanks again Jack.”

“I had an outstanding experience purchasing my new truck. Thorpes GMC is a trustworthy family operation that has a stellar reputation in and around the community. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I worked with both Brandon and Eric, they were both very helpful. There was a good selection of trucks to choose from, and I found the perfect one for my needs. From start to finish, it was a seamless and positive buying experience. Highly recommend Thorpes GMC for anyone in the market for a new vehicle!”

“Arthur is a great guy to work with and service and repair your vehicle. Since the COVID pandemic, he is by himself answering the phone and working on vehicle, so please be patient. It is almost impossible to find talented and honest people like Arthur anymore.”

“Very nice owner, excellent service!I was on a family outing with my dad, daughter, and two large dogs. We picked up a 7/16" lag bolt in the tire and had to stop in Tannersville. No spare of course, two cans of fix-a-flat only made a mess (seals 1/4" holes my a$$, it didn't even try to seal around the lag), ended up leaving the van in Legg's parking lot, and getting a friend to drive 1.5 hours each way to pick us up.Went back the next day, luckily the shop was open, and the owner immediately plugged my tire, had me on my way, and only asked for $10. In my situation, he could have easily asked for $75, not brought me right in, etc., but being a decent and honest person didn't take advantage of the situation. He also offered advice on the road hazard warranty that I was unaware came with the tires, and genuinely is very knowledgeable in auto repair (we talked vehicles while he was repairing the tire).VERY highly recommended!!!!”
