I drove over an hour to visit the rink on Saturday 4/19. Before making the trip I checked the website to confirm it was open and even tried calling, though no one answered. I arrived with my family around 3 PM only to be told by the nonchalant desk staff that the rink was closed for a private event. There was no notice on the website or signage at the door indicating this closure. When I asked if the rink would reopen at 7:30 PM, I received a “no,” which made the experience feel even more unwelcoming. The website clearly states Saturday hours as 1-4:30pm and 7:30-10:30pm. In today’s world keeping the website and social media updated should be a basic expectation. Disappointing.

I’m sure this place got plenty of loans during the pandemic and not one upgrade! The skates are probably from when I was kid. It’s a shame such a staple in the community has such a terrible owner!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I grew up going here in the 90’s. It appears it hasn’t been updated or even maintained since then. I took my son twice in the past month, and I won’t go back.
1. He got sick the next day both times (this is a kid who never ever gets sick, maybe once every 2 years or so).
2. There is no heat. There are people skating with winter coats on and the owner wears a winter hat. It’s obviously not a temporary problem (I suspect the broken AC signs in the summer are also not a temporary problem).
3. I’m all for vintage and character. This is not that. It looks like a trashy dilapidated drug house with missing ceiling tiles, and falling insulation.
4. Speaking of drugs, every time the kitchen door opened, there was a very heavy smell of marijuana. The only person to come out each time was the owners wife and daughter (maybe 9 yrs old?). By the time we left, we were the last people there with only the owners so pretty certain who was doing it. But also…the kitchen? Where they serve food?!? While customers are there? Just no.
5. It’s ridiculously expensive for a craphole.
If they don’t care about turning on the heat, the open ceiling tiles and falling insulation, and letting his wife smoke pot in the kitchen where they make food and while they have customers, I doubt they actually disinfect the railings and surfaces. I’m done, I’ll drive across the river to Wood n Wheel from now on.

The employees were fantastic but the condition of the parking lot and the interior were unsafe.

Overall good experience. Music selection could have been better. There was no toliet paper in the bathrooms. This place definitely needs some upgrades.

Tonight, I had a wonderful experience. My experience, however, was not something that most people would be raving about... Because my son slipped and twisted his ankle pretty bad. The reason i'm giving a five-star review is because the staff jumped right in and were absolutely excellent with my son. I want to thank the young man who told him that he was going to be ok, that he should think and speak positively because the Lord was with him. When I heard that, I was so grateful that such a young man was unafraid to speak to my son about the Lord, which allowed for me to begin to pray for my son publicly... What ensued next I didn't expect, watching, as multiple people put their hands on my son to come into agreement in prayer.
Thank you to the staff for getting my son ice for his ankle, getting him a wheelchair, and giving him positive affirmations to get him through. Thank you so much for getting him a bottle of water and a slushy... You guys really made him feel better! We are not sure if he broke anything yet, but thank God for medical insurance! He will be okay. I really hope you guys stay open because we had a wonderful experience tonight. Thanks again.

I haven’t skated in years. This was a fun experience and I will definitely return again. There was no food available at the time I had went but the music was great !

Great old skating rink that has been around forever.
They have skates for the little littles.
This place feels more geared for bigger people on busy nights. There is one uneven area on the rink, and it has also been there forever.

If I could give Zero stars then I would. I drove a hour from Middletown to visit this place. On google it said it was open. I arrived and it was closed. Outside of the rink was very unkept. Not welcoming at all dirty appearance.
