Don’t expect to receive anything other than a bad attitude from this USPS location. Everyone - and I mean everyone - working behind the counter here clearly takes no pride in their job. They treat every customer that walks in like an inconvenience.Today, I walked into this USPS location with a package that was taped up and ready to go but I needed a label made. When asked for assistance with the label, I was told that I should be making the label at home and they aren’t supposed to do that. Maybe I am missing something, but that is literally part of their job description: to assist customers with creating labels. The woman reluctantly started making the label but decided that she would only punch in the street name/number and zip code, nothing else. She then printed my label and told me “you need to write your return address and the name of the recipient but mind you the paper is extremely difficult to write on. So good luck with that.”It took me time but I scratched the information onto the label - it looked horrible and this was meant to be a gift. I cannot understand why she couldn’t have taken the extra 2 minutes to simply type in all the information on the computer so the label would look presentable.This is not my first time experiencing this negative and lazy attitude from the people at this location. It’s a true shame too because the mailmen/women working in Irvington work so hard and are always so helpful. The post office should be ashamed by their behavior. They are making the whole of USPS look bad.

The best usps office in Westchester by far!!! Service is top of the line, clean, available parking around. Absolut pleasure to visit.

I went in there today with my two children, 6 & 9, who I had pulled out of school to renew their passports. When I got there, the woman behind the counter asked, "Where's mom?" I explained that she was deceased. With the kids right there, she said, "You have the death certificate?" I didn't and asked why I would need it. She replied, "She is on the birth certificate right? Of course she is, she gave birth to them." I was kind of taken aback that she would talk about the kids recently dead mom in front of them in such a callous way. But, I explained that I live close by and could go back and get the certificate. I asked if I did and if no one was here, would I still be able to submit the paperwork. Again, I had pulled both kids from school to do this today. She said 'No, make a new appointment.' I asked, "even if no one is here, you won't help us today?" She said "No, make a new appointment." I won't be back to the Irvington Post Office. And to the woman who was behind the counter today, I hope when you are confronted with a similar situation in your life, the person talks to you (and potentially your children) with more empathy.

I resided in Irvington 2 months ago. During the final week of moving, I visited the post office and asked that they hold a specific mail from the IRS for me. The lady I spoke with took my name, address and telephone number, and assured me that she would hold the mail and call me when it arrives. The day before it arrived, I called the post office to simply remind them to hold only that mail. The person I spoke with said she doesn’t remember speaking to me. I gave her the exact date and hour I made the request in person. She got aggressive and insisted I was fabricating a story and that no one in the office remembers speaking to me. How ludicrous! While knowing I could’ve requested a change of address online, I trusted that the person I spoke with would’ve done their job properly and held my mail. I began describing the person I spoke with as I forgot her name, she asked “is she black or white?” Immediately I knew where this conversation was going and how shallow minded this lady was. She began yelling and hung the phone up in my ear. I mean, I understand everyone’s going through something but whatever it is you’re facing, pray about it and please refrain from projecting your distasteful behavior onto others.

Absolutely rude and useless. Actually refusing to work. Just sitting there saying that they are busy and there was literally no one in the place.“I’m sorry we couldn’t help you!” She said.No. Don’t apologize for choosing not to help me. That was a choice, not a mistake.

One staff is friendly and polite but two others are rude and unfriendly. I come here only when it’s necessary otherwise I’d drive farther to other USPS.

Online the hours of operation say from 8:30-5. Went today to ship and the post office closed at 4pm!!!! Please update the online information.

I had a good/bad experience in this place. The people that work behind the counter can be rude and act like they dont care, but the one time I needed to drop off a package there was a delivery man that took my package from my hands so I didn't have to get out of my car and bring my kids out. He was very helpful and very kind. It’s true there are good and bad apples everywhere but the ones that are good need to be recognized.
