Frank deceived me over the phone about a tire. Didn't tell me he was charging extra for the swap until AFTER they took off my wheel. Played me like a chump. I was young. First bike.

Anyone know if Moto Clinic still open post sandy? I assume they got hit. Frank is the man. Knows his stuff and is honest with repairs and service.

Based on a friends recommendation and my desperate need to get my V-Max on the road I took my bike to Moto Clinic instead of my usual guys at Speed Motorcycles out in Manhattan and all I got was a comedy of errors and excuses. "The bike had been sitting for a while, You gotta ride it for us to figure out everything that's wrong with it, What did those other guys do to it...blah, blah, blah." I took the bike over to Speed Motorcycles in Manhattan and not only did they fix the "repairs" made at Moto but they did it cheaper and they found potential issues with the bike that they're currently taking care of now. What Moto did do is get the bike running after it sat for nearly two years but from that point it was one issue after the other and each time I brought the bike back to Moto they had no answers. To their defense, the owner and principal mechanic Frank Mantera was in and out the hospital and could barely walk and based on what I've heard about the shop, if he had been doing the repairs himself the Max would've been in great running shape in no time but Frank was literally in no shape to work on my bike and it showed. The people at Moto are incredibly friendly and it pains me to write probably the most putrid review you'll see on my page but unfortunately it's well deserved. They never called when they said they would, they kept me waiting and wasted my time over and over again and my bike and I broke down three different occasions after having it serviced here. As a customer I'm upset because I spent well over two thousand dollars at Moto to have a bike given back to me cosmetically sound but mechanically inept. I was so disgusted with the service and excuses that I didn't even bother to demand back the after market parts that I left at the shop that they neglected to even try to give back to me. Not that I have a naughty list but I have after market grips that cost me at least two hundred dollars that they failed to return to me after telling me they don't fit. My LED lights sat so long at the shop that when they gave those back they didn't work but when I gave it to them they were working just fine. I had a very blacked out cool skull that was supposed to be mounted on the back of the sissy seat that no one but me even remembers giving them. Complete disaster. I'd never recommend anyone to go to that shop unless Frank is doing the repairs himself and even then, I'd have to sit there and watch Frank doing it because after spending all that money, I feel justifiably shammed.
