Postal workers here have always been polite and helpful; however, Jesse deserves special mention:
We were expecting a shipment of live chicks. Tracking the shipment, we discovered that it had been delayed at Jamaica and was scheduled to be delivered the following day instead -- Obviously not great for live baby birds.
Jesse helped investigate -- and when they arrived later in the day, he drove them over to our house personally to deliver them!
(FYI, for those who don't raise chickens and wonder how they can survive the trip: Before they hatch, chickens absorb the remains of the yolk inside the egg and use it for nutrition/hydration over the first two or three days. A heat pack is added to the box to help them stay warm, and obviously there is special care in handling and delivery.)

The best service I have found in this state, the lady speaks little English but enough to help. Very good attention and patience for someone who does not speak any English.

I requested my mail be held from July 2nd to August 1. I returned home today to find that, not only was it not held, the postal person SHOVED everything into a tiny apartment mailbox! He ripped my mail, wrinkled the mail, and shoved packages in. I will not stop until this person is written up or disciplined. He repeatedly shoves packages into my mailbox that should be placed into a parcel mailbox.. Expect my visit on Monday morning.

I would not believe a review that starts with "This is the worst post office in Suffolk County" unless you believe said person visited the well over 100 post offices in Suffolk County. Hardly ever a line, staff is always courteous and friendly. Would not blame them for following federal regulations or a delay that happened on the road probably in another state.

Absolutely the WORST post people when it comes to delivery. Waited months for a package to arrive and when given the option for electronic delivery, the incompetent postman decided to NOT deliver the package despite having the electronic release to LEAVE the package. When calling the general number the hold time is over an hour and by then the post office will be closed and nothing will be done. Absolutely GARBAGE when it comes to execution.

Ive had a P O box at the Islip Terrace Post office since 2014, all very professional, helpful and friendly!! And I disagree with the review about the lady with red hair, she is very sweet and friendly, like all that work there!!

Hands down the worst post office in Suffolk County. Some of the clerks (particularly the red head) are outright rude and nasty. All of my packages have postage paid and every single time they make a comment about label placement, size of package, weight, etc. We’ve proven her wrong so many times and she never apologizes or acknowledges we’re correct. Constant eye rolling. Do better Islip Terrace. (Side note - I highly recommend East Islip PO because Diana is amazing!)

This is the default post office for our town and I could not be more annoyed with the effort they put fourth. Several times they will lose mail or damage certain articles for the mail. Normally I would never leave a review online nor do I know how well other post offices are, I just know they must be better than this. Attached is their apology of ripping a I.D for my mother's bag collection in half. They included half of the I.D, what's not included however is the half that has her phone number, email and other personal recognitions on it, which means it was either destroyed or floating somewhere for someone to collect, but we have no idea because they didn't write anything about it.

Patricia couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. I can only image how hard it is dealing with nasty people all day who come to the post office without a pen or tape or necessary tools to accomplish their task. And then take it out on the lady’s who have to suffer through dealing with them!
