I stopped by to ask a question regarding my taxes, but also was looking for this office to handle doing them as well. I walked in and the man in the last office on the right came out. I explained to him I had a question about my taxes, but would like to sit down because I'd be looking to hire him to file for me. He said he was with someone and I asked if I should wait, make an appointment, or come back. He gestured me to sit and wait in the waiting room. I sat and patiently waited for about 20-25 mins. He entered the waiting room and asked me about my question, to which I replied I'd like to sit with him as I was planning to have him file for me. I got up to follow him and he told me a few more minutes...so I sat back down and waited another 10...finally he comes to get me...we walk out of the waiting room and I am immediately hit with the stench of someone smoking marijuana. Ok...we enter his office and I take a seat. I hand him my W-2's...I have a few, but they are straightforward easy to file...my question was only because I had 1 from out of state from Florida for a 2 month period (I was confident I knew what to do, but thought it easier to allow him to file)...he points to a paper with the amount $188 on it at the corner of his desk and tells me that's the fee to file...these are the most straightforward easy W-2's and the woman I always used charged me $40 but retired. I said $188 for this? No thanks...I guess I'll do it myself, but if you could answer my question...which was when I file I only put Florida on federal papers...his response was very sarcastic and went something like, "let me ask you a question. If you had a head injury but no doctor or appointment would you expect free advice from them..." I replied as I slightly cut him off, " I see where you're going with this...I'll take care of it myself. You have a nice day sir." He wasn't very friendly, never introduced himself to me, very sarcastic and know it all mannerisms, and acted like I was an annoyance with a very simple question...also $188 for filing 1 person single w a few W-2's is outrageous. I've always known it to be a sliding scale depending on how difficult the filing is. This guy didn't want to be bothered with me, so now he loses me as a customer and gets a bad review.
