My car was repaired the same day and for the exact quote. It was an emergency and I am happy I found this shop. Good service, efficient.

My wife brought her jeep in for transmission repairs and they made it worse. When another repair shop repaired her jeep they said it looked like they did nothing. Dont go there!

This business is a big rip off. I was traveling out of state and it was the only place that I could find. He ripped me off big time.

The owner of "Islip Transmissions" 230 East Main Street Islip is "Pat V. Leggio" and is piece of work! This j*** has not been paying his rent since BEFORE Covid19 hit (February) and flat out has been telling the building owner (a 76 yr old recently widowed little old lady) that he's going to rack up all of the money he can before he jumps ship and not pay his rent and that there's nothing she can do about it because the courts are all closed. Not to be confused with "Island Car Care" which is in the same building next door. Those guy's are not involved and are very nice and honest. This little old lady is not only the sweetest lady you'd ever meet but she's also not rich. She depends on the income from the rent on this building to pay her day to day bills, food etc. This building was her husbands way of trying to make sure that she would be taken care of when he was gone. She IS pursuing this further with an attorney, but in the meantime the purpose of this post is to warn everyone about this j*** and what he's doing and the type of person he his. I'm hoping that everyone would band together in support of this sweet lady and not go here to have their vehicles serviced until he is gone. Do not allow this j*** to make another dime in this town and let him go and pull this crap in his own town. I'm all for small business, but NOT dishonest and underhanded ones.****Update: Boycott/Protest scheduled for Friday Aug 7th 2020 at 12 noon in front of the shop. Come show your support! Thank you to all responding, helping and showing support! Landlady is NOT aware of nor involved in any way with the boycott/protest.***

They did a nice clutch job, reasonable price, kindly dropped me off and picked me up. The clutch makes the car feel like new. Smooth action. Been driving around and it is still performing through the winter. My experience was pretty straightforward and good. (One caveat; I had to air the car out for a few days and blast with air fresheners to get the cigarette smoke out, but I guess the guys working on it busted their a** without taking a smoke break elsewhere. That shows they work hard, right?...) Anyway, they were decent. Check out the all wood office that reminds you of an old pub. It would be a great bar if they ever retire. They could call it Transmission Bar and hang car parts in the walls.

Had a rebuilt transmission installed and it crapped out immediately after the warranty expired. It is what it is. $2400 gone. They did give me a $200 break on the next one but.
